What is mental is the classic collection cards in PSA 10 that sell for less than the common holos in a PSA 10. Look at the Lugia regular holo for the set in PSA 10, the sale price is abit nuts.

PSA pop report will give you a strong idea. Id wage my bet on celebrations as popularity was at an all time high.
Celebrations for sure! Pokémon print runs had been going up in the 2010s but then with the Covid boom, they have been printing every set and even reprinting some.
I didn't buy celebrations back then, but I've been picking some up now. There are some beautiful cards.

It isn't just a celebrations issue though. Like every card is down tons when the covid boom had everything going for a ton of money.
Celebrations will be fine eventually. Sure some sets will be worth a lot more but celebrations is still worth more than a good bit of sets that are older despite how much it was printed.
Base set original pokemon will pretty much always be a solid investment in my opinion. Same reason why 151 is as popular and valuable as it is despite being out for 4 months when other sets and singles come down. OG Nostalgic pokemon do well

Every set will have insane price when it was just released and after a couple of years, the true price will be reflected on the card itself. As of now, I believe the price of the celebrations graded card would be going up slowly and steady as it is 25th anniversary of Pokemon. No doubt, this definitely will be a chase set in 10 or 20 yrs later.
Pokemon might be dead 20 years from now, who knows haha

People have FOMO and self gratification. They feel like they Need to have a certain card or cards before most people.
If you're buying cards to invest in, wait 3-6 months after a set releases before buying singles, and 8-12 months for anything graded. The market is artificially inflated and volatile early on as the real number of cards in circulation increases and stabilize the market. Good if you're a seller, but if you're buying early on you're really making a stupid impulsive decision. Just wait.
People do this for all sorts of things, and it's really dumb. Trying to have something early, in an environment where early doesn't actually mean anything except you threw a lot of money in the trash. Don't be impulsive. Be patient. Someone else's loss will be your gain.

All those people who did buy them when they were listing for $1k or more, now have $150-$200 cards, and no matter how long they hold them, they'll NEVER make their money back. And if they were just collecting for hobby and not investment, they had no reason to rush to buy it at scalper's prices. Don't be them, be you.

Just like xy evolution, every popular set has their price up and downs. I believe u can get a holo zard from evol for about 45-55$ now and thats from the original base set artwork reprint holo one 😂. However xy evol is so stupid, the BB still expensive af lmao.

Celebrations singles are low because it’s an amazing set for casuals. It’s constantly one of my best sellers and if you look at the prices of the sealed it shows the inverse.
Still a great set! The best special set in the swsh aera.
Boggles my mind who are paying those ridiculous prices when it was initially released lol. Most people know prices would tank when the pop increases in the future. It was not difficult to get decent pulls in celebration. I love celebrations, but not at those ATH prices lol

Psa 10 base charizard pop 460, psa 10 moonbreon 7900. Imagine how much higher the pop report will be in 5 years, 20,000? Vintage is probably the safest investment. Also, in 15 years everything will be vintage, so I'm buying real vintqge right now. Fundamentals > hype

How do i tell is a psa graded slab is legit , i know there is sooo many scams , i would hate to hold a psa 10 for 20+ years just to learn it was a fake grade or sus in any way , would be a total waste of time and money

Card graders get paid minimum wage and have to grade 1 card per minute. It’s pretty naive to think an insanely massive amount of mistakes aren’t made during the process. People shouldn’t put such a high value on graded cards imo.

You really think a Japanese modern trainer card is worth $1,500-$3,000 because it features a female cartoon? How come they were worthless up until 2021? There's no limit to how many of them will be pulled over the next few years. They're in a massive bubble. Again, 90-95% crash incoming, but buy as you please. Gonna see some massive losses though.
@enthused7591 definitely. Most people don't realize the scalpers bought up the last Sun and Moon boxes and "really rare" cards. They are just pumping and dumping them now and give it some time, all those cards will tank. If you want investment, think vintage stuff, most is way cheaper than modern, which is insane!
@@Ill33will Absolutely, vintage stuff is ideal, but the 3-4 super special sets of the last 6-7 years will go up 3-4x as well. Similar to what Evolutions, Generations, Shining Legends and Hidden Fates did, that's what Celebrations sealed items will do as well.
English pokemon cards are just trash. Quality is trash, and volume is too over printed. English cards will never be valuable
Late 2020 to early 2022 was a super unhealthy market for Pokemon cards especially, but also new and used vehicles and almost everything else money could buy. That's what socialist money printing policy does. That said, glad to see these awesome cards back down to what we used to see singles from a modern set sell for from 2016-2019. When pull rates are as wildly good as Celebrations, (much like in Evolutions), we see single prices go down pretty low for quite a while, but there's really nowhere to go but up for these singles. Could take 5-6 years but Celebrations singles will absolutely go up 3-4x from here eventually.
