Interesting video, thanks. I believe you may be able to set your Beast to Car Wash Mode, which will prevent the chargeport from opening and closing like that.

When I was editing the video I thought about that 😅.
“Why didn’t I just put it into car wash mode” oh well lol.
Congrats on the Beast! I hate driving anything else, mostly because of the steering wheel by wire.

I was thinking the same. A properly fam/bush scratched up look will make it look like it is used for what it is claimed to be. I would never clean it beyond a normal wash if it was mine.

If you off-road and climb through enough srcag, it's definitely better to just keep the CT raw. Even if a wrap would protect the the metal, it's more likely to eventually look terrible if the wrap has damage. Scratched up stainless really doesn't look that bad. Most people putting wraps on are going to baby it anyway. What are your thoughts on a ProtectaClear coat? It should help at least a little, but I'm wondering if it might look bad if an area gets worn while others don't.
Either way I think the CT looks pretty cool with minor wears and scratches. I'm really not interested in treating the CT like a Corvette.

Take any legacy truck into the bush and your paint job is ruined. The Cybertruck is a game changer - give it a wash and it looks new again except for the plastic bits. They can be replaced with aftermarket metal parts, though.
Legacy trucks have just lost their toughness seal - the stainless steel is amazing.
Thx for this informative video. I subscribed.

@TroySavary @xxicemanxx11 I have driven for more than a decade around the interior of Brazil on and to our farms in many different pickups. When we go offroad we literally go off the road.
We drive through fields, nearly impassable paths, bushes, small trees, rivers of the savannah, jungle, rocky regions and so on. Even when we are not off road most roads are dirt roads that in the rainy season become impossible. Farms are in some cases many hundreds of miles apart. Some roads are so bad that a hundred miles can take 8 hours.
The paint job (always white) of a new truck is ruined nearly instantly. Not that we care much except that first time you do it to a new truck.
We nearly only use Toyota Hilux as they seemingly are the only pickup that can handle the abuse without breaking down. Also the most expensive of pickups that size.
Can you buff the point job out? Yeah, until you get those real deep scratches from rocks, trees, termite nests, and leaves that cut like blades. Do we ever bother? Not really.

Use car wash mode to prevent the charge port from opening. Good video ! CT really is durable. Have you seen the panel replacement photos going around? They are super easy to swap too. Tesla really built a mass-market vehicle here. It's priced for early adopters but these things are eventually going to be everywhere, can't wait.

I laugh what people term as "off roading" when they drive down a dirt road, I live in NZ and work in Australia, off roading here is called bush bashing and you make your own tracks through hard country and scratches , dings and damage is not optional. Were they scratches in the metal, or wood residue deposited from the branches scraping? My guess is the latter, since you couldn't feel scratches, and since it wiped off easily. That, and wood should not easily scratch steel.
