The great thing about the wind, really is the quietness, I have friends that live in Celes and whilst it is nice, the street is busy every minute of every day, Wind used to have an it may no longer have a little shuttle that would take you to the interchange building at the end of 23. For those interested I would be really surprised if you paid 6 months up front you didn't get a decent discount.
Nice picks, what a great selection! Something priceless: You knew clearly what you liked the most and at the same time how to inspire a viewer like me to feel the same way while browsing along! Of these three units, I love them all, and the third, also the largest, would be my best, as space and affordability are always among my main factors. Without a doubt, you could now become my best BKK condo presenter ever even though you're not a real estate agent! Thank you.
Celes Asok is my favorite. Compare to other condos in this and other videos I would say it is worth it. It'll be nice if it was a bit bigger, I would have been willing to pay a bit more too if it was bigger. Not sure if you are planning on doing anymore Luxury condo tours, but if so would love to see some 2 bed, 2 bath luxury condos around the Rama 9 area near the FortuneTown Mall?
Celes is definitely a beautiful building. There are larger units.. I'll cover a couple of three bedroom condos in the building soon... they are significantly bigger and provide good value. I'll check around Rama 9 as well. Thanks for the input!
Enjoyed meeting you the other day at Terminal 21, your videos very well done and you provide a great service. Again, thanks for taking the time to talk with me and give me some good advice., will continue to catch your videos in the future, like the one today!
Definitely the third one! Quieter street, beautiful swimming-pool with a nice view even if it's lower (in fact we could see the Celes building from this pool), large and well furnished unit... Here, the 70K bahts are weel spent!
Nice condos. Great that you show some higher end options. I would prefer to see what I could get in the 30,000 to 50,000 baht/month range. I fully agree with those who said that you should show the apartments first and the amenities after. One does not live in the amenities so it’s more important to see if the apartment fits the need of a viewer first, as that is the deciding factor with amenities only adding to that, but of no interest if the apartment is not of interest.
I’ll cover more in that price range as well. Just trying to show the full range in the city. I’ll try flipping the format around. Thanks for the input!
Thanks for that request. That is my thought exactly. So often these condo reviews are either the super cheap closet boxes with tiny balconies, or else they are the luxury high-end, but rarely do you see reviews of condos in the mid-range that most of us normal folks would be interested in. Maybe 60-80 sq m, nice balcony, one bedroom, well-equipped, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer machines, nice bathroom. Not so concerned about the building amenities because one spends 95% of their time at the building in the confines of their own unit, and most never venture into these public space. Big balcony more important than any amenities. So more interested in good solid units, with good views, in nice quiet areas, for the mid-range price. Am I asking too much here?
The Lofts Asoke looks nice. I actually like the unfurnished 2nd bedroom because I'd put a painters easel in there and start painting. No place to do that in my current 1 bedroom condo in Ari.
I liked the Celes condo the best. My final decision would include factors such as proximity to public transport and how much sun the unit and pool got. I need some shade.
Great videos with lots of detail, tips, and I LOVE that you have a MAP that shows where these places are. Really appreciate the info you provide. As an 8-year resident of Thailand, I'm hoping you can answer these two questions - (1) can i easily get a 1 year lease in most condos in Bangkok without having a visa (US citizen)? (2) I'm in the US now, and was thinking of hopping around SE Asia doing slow travel but I'd like a place where I can leave 'stuff' - e.g., few boxes of clothing, computer monitors - do you have any thoughts about renting a storage unit in Bangkok? ( I was thinking this might be an alternative to signing a lease since I can't be in the country for more than 60 days visa-free without an extension and not sure I'm really ready to sign a lease just yet). Any thoughts would be much appreciated....
You can normally get a lease... I've had some landlords ask for it, and others don't care. Just mention it to the agent and they will normally sort it all out. To be honest, you can find cheap condos for like $200 that can act as a storage unit... and a place to stay occasionally during your travels. Even with a year lease, the actual cost is very low on something like that while giving you a little home base.
Penthouses will normally be on the top floor but definitions can be a little different here. I haven't visited 39 by Sansiri so I can't give a direct opinion on it, but I will look into checking it out! Cheers
Awesome, thanks for showing these! Would save us some time if you show the USD/EUR conversion so we can get a quick sense of the cost without having to calculate it ourselves :)
Thanks for the tip. I thought about that but lately the exchange rates have fluctuated quite a bit so it might end up off considerably within a couple of weeks. Could add though. Cheers
@@thebangkokguide Thanks! Great videos either way :) Most people understand that the older the video is, the more things might have changed (condo price, exchange rate, etc). But still valuable to get a general ballpark idea :)

Thanks for the kind words and sub! Unfortunately these condos normally require a year long lease.. it can be difficult to find one month rentals. I'll cover the short term rental market in an upcoming video though. Cheers

Chiang Mai is a lot cheaper than Bangkok when it comes to accommodation. Actually houses are often cheaper than larger condos even in Bangkok as well… even if there are a lot of empty condos. Market dynamics don’t always make a lot of sense in Thailand 😅
This is the luxury segment. In terms of price it resembles the lower mid tier condo market in Toronto, which makes sense due to the large average salary disparity. But Bangkok has a much wider price range… and the lower midtier in Bangkok goes for much lower prices (around $500 or less). I’ll cover this in a video as it’s an interesting topic. Cheers

The type of people who live in big luxury units, esp. over the long-haul, seem to rarely/never use the common areas. Their priority is probably focused on the size & quality of their private areas, where they can spend most of their time & avoid sharing space with strangers. If you do see any people in the common areas in those buildings, they are more likely to be short-timers. Common spaces appear to be more frequently used in buildings with smaller, budget units.
