The third season saw Alice gets its sitcom service down to a science, delivering regular orders of laughter and workplace wisdom weekly while enjoying a regular slot in the top twenty. Series regulars Vic Tayback (Mel), Vera (Beth Howland), Polly Holliday (Flo), and Philip McKeon (Tommy) fit their roles perfectly, while Linda Lavin (Alice) set the comedy temp, whether it be a slow-burn simmer, smoking hot slapstick, or on-the-boil gut-busters. Situations found in this 3-Disc, 24-Episode collection include used "Car Wars" between the girls and Mel, Vera coming down with "A Slight Case of ESP" and "Flo Finds Her Father" (played by F Troop great Forrest Tucker!). Meanwhile Tommy falls in love, Alice falls for a (younger!) theatre director and -- most horrifying of all -- Mel sells the diner! And keep your eyes peeled for Philip McKeon's sister Nancy (Facts of Life) playing a young orphan alongside Corey Feldman (Stand by Me).

“Alice” is my favorite show and I’d recommend highly, seasons 3,4 & 5.
Tommy is played by Philip McKeon ... his real life younger sister Nancy McKeon, played Jo Polniaczek on the 80's show "Facts of Life".

I loved this show.
Ahhhh,I miss tv like this ,it was and is a timeless classic,they could never bring this back in my opinion they just don't have the producers like the used to,I mean don't get me wrong I would love to see this back on our screens but I just don't think it is possible unfortunately.

I remember this growing up and I remember getting in in trouble because I repeat it what Alice said what she said well kiss my grits and the teacher figure out what kiss my grits meant and I got in trouble.

It should have creeped you out. I got the heeby jeebies watching it. Vera was embarrassingly bad. Bad acting all around. Bad writing

Tommy you know better than that .
The writing of this show was marginal. We should have heard the boy's mother setting up Mel to start teaching her boy how to handle the bike. Having him live with Mel is a weird stretch. And the show kept doing these weird things through seasons. It just could have been better.
But also, Philip was a better actor than the part they gave him on "Alice." Nancy saved "The Facts of Life" Philip could have had that kind of challenge on another show.
Why only part of show waste of time
Linda Lavin had a terrible ego during the filming.
I love this show but Alice's singing sucks
Flo was offered her own show, but it failed.
Bella Bella Linda was jealous of Flo, wanted her off the show. Why CBS made her the show “Flo”
