I gotta say it's great to see people show so much respect to Izzy after this. I know a lot of people felt some type of way about his fights, and this was his chance to show us he could overcome adversity and he did. - Instant rematches for the belt should be reserved for dominant champs. Pereira had no defences (barely any fights for that matter) and lost the fight bad.
    - Izzy doesn't want the fight.
    - Pereira needs a long time off after such a brutal KO, while Izzy wants to stay active.
    - The UFC really wants Pereira to move up a weight class. There've been close calls with his weight cuts.

We all love him so much that we were scared, we bet and we hoped and we prayed that he would get it done, but realistically Pereira has 20lbs on him and had won 3 fights in a row. But Izzy dug fucking deep, he was absolutely on the verge of collapse and he DUG a knockout out of that collapse.
There’s no question now, you can’t say Izzy isn’t one of the 2 best middleweights of all time. And realistically he’s the 1. Poatan throws that short left hook with his elbow low so he can throw it fast, you don't see it in close range, and when you do, you have to guess if he's throwing it to the body or the head. His head is wide open though. High risk, high reward move. Good for Izzy for figuring it out. He was waiting for it but Poatan was careful in the beginning and he had to play possum to draw it out.

Hundred percent agree that they should have a rubber match for this fight. I mean one win for Piereia was a CLOSE decision win. One win was a knockout, and one win was a TKO. Then Izzy won by knockout. He needs one more win and they are even, if you want to look at it that way, but in this case they've fought twice, Izzy got koed and then Piereia got koed. In any other situation if you look at it just from their fights in the UFC, there has to be a trilogy fight. It has to happen.
