Conor isnt a top 15 fighter all time. Hard to compare him to stipe, dominic cruz, usman, max hollaway etc who would be around that range and displayed a lot more longevity
Khabib list is probably one of few in the top 5 where it actually makes sense. The order up there is irrelevant but to leave Fedor out like many is insane. Just cause dude never went to the ufc (at a period where the division was b tier at best) makes no sense. Dude showed his fellow brother some love for sure

That’s actually nuts!! I always knew about the nine fight win streak kamaru had to go on to get a title shot (which he only got because Covington pulled out) but the fact that he had to go on that streak after dominating the TUF final and competition as a whole, is crazy.
It only got exciting post title. The 9 in a row before the shot were incredibly boring
To be fair he did not look like he was near a world champion level contender on the TUF season. And when he had his "30 percent" moment, that didn't help.

Dom cruz being lowest on the list is evidence of this. By this logic however, Conor is more than deservivlng of a spot, but its not surprising that khabib wouldn't put him on it

The fact that Volk wasn't mentioned once this entire video is criminal. I doubt anyone would take Prime Aldo in a fight with current Volkanovski. We're talking about a guy who has never been finished in the UFC, who beat every other champion in his division's history aside from Conor. He also nearly beat Khabib's heir after moving up in weight. Across his entire career, he's fought and won fights in 3 different weight classes (Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight).

He TKO'd Jeremy Kennedy who is currently like Bellator's Number 2 ranked Featherweight. He also stopped Darren Elkins' 6 fight winning streak. None of the guys Volk beat in his UFC career were anything other than high level Mixed Martial Artists.
Jeremy Kennedy was 11-0 with a 3 fight win streak in the UFC before Volk took his 0 and he only has 3 recorded losses on his record.
Brian Ortega likewise only has 3 losses in his career, all technically to UFC Featherweight champions (Yair was the Interim Champion)
He also has as many consecutive Featherweight Title Defenses as Israel Adesanya (Rank 9) had Middleweight Defenses on his first stint with the belt and Kamaru Usman (Rank 8) had Welterweight Defenses and unlike Izzy has never lost in his division.
He has had as many MMA fights in his professional career as GSP and has the same record as him.
He has more fights in the UFC than Cejudo who has lost more times in the UFC than Volk has total losses on his resume.
He has more wins in his career at Welterweight (3) than BJ Penn has wins at Featherweight (0). (Frankly Penn even being in anyone's Top 15 is idiotic considering Penn's total MMA record is 16-14-2)
He also hasn't even lost a shot at Champ-Champ considering the promotion is itching to book him and Islam for a rematch.

I think he's easily one of the more forgettable top fighters (I've barely watched any of his fights), but his reign is respectable and even if he retired what many would consider early, he had a perfect run.

A see a lot of people don't give DJ the credit but he's my #3 all time that guy is easily the most skilled fighter I've ever seen. He is always fighting dudes that are much bigger than him too. The perfect fighter skills imo would be something like DJ mixed with Jon Jones.

BJ Penn is P4P GOAT for me and I know a lot of people aren’t going to like that but the way he was jumping across weight classes during his prime was and still is unheard of.

I think Khabib's Dad has to go down as one of the greatest MMA minds ever, perhaps. From building a bunch of kids up into killers, champions... but also recognizing the skills of other stars, in this case, Jon Jones... Abdulmanap was a Legend, hands down. Volk not being on the list is kinda crazy imo. I think Kamaru/Volk would be a good comparison and tie. Both mauled their division as champ (until leon showed up baby boom headshot). I can see how Cormier is above Henry because Khabib has bias from friendship and the weight difference between LHW and HW weights like Chael said. However I think the "2 divison OLYMPIC gold medalist" puts higher degrees on a legacy then "Multiple All American 2 division champ". Jon being number 1 is just facts. Might mouse could be tied with GSP. Both of those 2 are different level like Jon Jones but Jon has the constant clutch factor that he can win and beat the opponent that is why he is number 1. GSP and MM both have had ups and huge highs in their careers so its a hard tie IMO and that could fit Volk in the list.

I think people forget how amazing Frankie was. He defeated BJ Penn in his prime multiple times. And he was champ of a non-HW division who didn’t cut weight. You can argue that Frankie won 6 of the 10 rounds against Benson, who was significantly larger. And he won at least 3 of those 10 rounds against Jose Aldo. He had never been convincingly defeated till much later in his career. Beast!

Adesanya being where he is makes sense , considering he's more or less a 1 dimensional striker, his wins are by tko/ko or decision. A goat would be someone that demonstrates more ways to win than just on the feet imo, he also fell short of breaking Silva's record in the division, etc. So 9 is respectable and fair

Conor won two titles, but was stripped of them both for never defending them. He doesn't deserve to be on a list with champions who won and defended a title many times and stayed at the top of their divisions for many years.
Jones defended the light heavyweight title 11 times, 8 of them in a row.
Anderson Silva defended the middleweight title 10 times in a row.
George St Pierre defended the welterweight title 9 times in a row.
Israel Adesanya defended the middleweight title 5 times, so far.
Kamaru Usman defended the welterweight title 5 times.
Dominic Cruz defended the bantamweight title 3 times.
Conor defended his titles zero times. Winning one fight can be a fluke, even if it's in spectacular fashion. Defending at title is what makes a great champion.
Frankie Edgar has to be in Top15… he competed undersized in so many fights. He defeated BJ in his prime multiple times. His first fight against against Aldo was highly competitive. And I think he won 5 of the 10 rounds against Bendo who was significantly larger.

By your logic, Oliveira and Islam are not real champions because they didn't beat Khabib. Jan, Jiri, Jamal and Glover are not real champions because they didn't beat Jon.

Oh and by your logic Jon isn't the real HW champion because he didn't beat Francis.
Daniel earned the belt when he eliminated all the top contenders fair enough if he didn't beat Alex, Anthony Johnson (twice), Volkan Odezmir. But he did so deal with it, and he defended both belts in both divisions, unlike some double champs who win their new title and never defend it (Connor McGregor, Henry Cejudo, GSP).

Chael, you have officially changed my mind and I’m now back to believing that The GOAT is Anderson Silva. I’ve always had a list made up of the usual suspects. Anderson Silva, Mighty Mouse, Jones, Fedor and depending on the day and how the conversation was going. My #1 would change. But I think everyone is dealing with a bit of recency bias. Because the true pound for pound king is Silva for all the reasons you listed and that’s because he fought and won in dominating fashion in all of those weight classes. He challenged himself to the max. Connor has also challenged himself to the max going from looking half dead on weigh in day to fighting at weights far higher. But he didn’t go on a rampage like Anderson did when he fought probably my all time favorite fighter in Forrest Griffin ( I didn’t say the best just MY favorite. ) at 205 and won convincingly with a KO. Mad respect to everyone on anyone’s top 10 list. They’re all there for a reason but Anderson gets the vote from me. Followed by I think I have to go with Mighty Mouse. He’s been the most dominant person at their respective weight class for so long. Without any controversy, out of the cage issues or anything. Then it’s GSP because… it’s GSP and then Jon Jones. The follow up list might change order tomorrow because I’ll remember something I forgot about today. But that’s how my list looks.
