Typically 2+2 body styles are less desirable to two-seaters-that’s true of the Datsun 240Z and the Lotus Elan. But with the Lotus the Plus 2 wears the larger size with elegance, and at a still-attainable price point. While not enjoying the valuation of the lighter drophead coupe, the 10 inches of additional width and two feet of length give the classic a character of its own.
Brieuc like other Elan enthusiasts was initially looking for a convertible, but fell in love when he saw this 1972 +2 coupe in Lotus Yellow with matching numbers. Beautifully maintained on the outside with not even a hint of a crack in its fiberglass body, the Elan delights on the inside with its burl wood dash.
“I’m an idiot but I love it. I love this car,” said Brieuc. Seeing the lithe, 2000-pound coupe in motion, we can see why.

The seats might provide a little more safety in this car in the event of an accident. A Lotus Elan handles like a sharp knife through the turns. Having a pair of firm sport seats with support on both sides could only make the driving pleasure of the car even better. Keep the seats...
Agreed, but he might well need the extra support with fused joints.

My first car purchase was a 1972 Elan+2. Red, with a silver top. What a fun car to drive. Great handling, but it did have its drawbacks with mechanical issues! A true love story- ups and downs, but what a fun ride!

Moby Dick the normal 2 seater 240z is amazing but the 2+2 looks fat.

No one can possibly have Any regrets buying a Lotus a piece of Motoring History like no other on earth, the genius that was Mr Colin Chapman, in its day the Elan would leave anything dead on twisting country roads, with the exception of Maybe the best Ferrari of that era

The Bi-turbo only redeeming quality was its Maserati name, but just the exclusivity of the nameplate is enough to hook you.

je note que vous avez une lourde hérédité : votre père a acheté une "Misérati" bi turbo à carburateur...ça doit marquer au fer rouge une voiture comme ça.
Si on s'en sort côté moteur, c'est le tableau de bord qui prend feu...de quoi devenir chèvre.
Ce qui m'inquiète avec ce moteur Ford Lotus c'est que toute intervention sur la pompe à eau passe par le démontage de la culasse...c'est lourd comme opération.

Two gripes about the having to read cc within 3 minutes? Not all stories worth hearing are in english. I for one (who doesn't understand french) simply watched this video twice. Once to just read the story, the other to just take in the visuals. Totaly worth it.
