  • In this video I show you how I fixed the loud front end squeaks by removing and replacing the upper and lower control arms on this 2007 GMC Sierra (Chevy Silverado). I got ahead of myself a time or two, but for the most part, it was a pretty straightforward repair.

Eat less carbs, use more salt, use a quality electrolyte (Not sports drinks) and get checked for type 2 diabetes. A1C, AND fasting insulin. I am not even kidding.

Dan, as a professional in my field (37+ years) it’s very relieving to watch a DIY’r do a nice, clean video. It’s also a great reminder to KISS. (for the few that don’t know, this means “keep it simple stupid”) The longer I do my job (I own a hydraulic repair shop) the easier it is to start a conversation way over peoples heads. I truly appreciate you sharing your experience(s), you do these in a manor than any bonehead DIY’r can relate to, like myself. I too love working on my own vehicles, but I’m no about mechanic, but with help from gentleman like you I get better with each repair. Thanks again!!!

Your videos are always so relevant! Just did both my uppers and lowers on my 08 escalade last week. Had to torch out the bolts on the uppers on both sides they were so rusted.

Can I give a little advice I’ve done 100s and never hammer on the thread part if you take a hammer and hit on the side were the tapered ball joints go through hit that on the side with a good hammer and they will usually pop right out

Super well done video! I am about to do this to my 2014 Sierra so thanks for the great tips. I remember trying to sawzall out a leaf spring bolt out of a 67 Mustang, no blade would work until I purchased the more expensive carbide blade. I believe some suspension bolts are hardened well beyond what a run of the mill sawzall blade is capable of cutting. Hopefully I won't have to do any cutting.

Diablo carbide blades will cut it like butter. Those are the only blades I buy now. They are truly amazing.

You might want to remember in the future W.D is by no means a rust penetrant, any actual penetrating oil would have been better to use.

WD-40 does not penetrate, it protects. Use Kroil or better yet is to mix Acetone and ATF at 50/50 and this works. Let it penetrate and do it's job.
