This man has more soul in his pinky than most have in their whole body. Bobby Darin was the whole package, performer, entertainer and man, that voice. What a guy.
Celtrock you are so right ! He also did spot-on impersonations (there is one out there of him as JImmy Durante), nominated for Academy Award (if he had more time he would have earned one- he had great talent) amazing dancer (find the "Higher and Higher" UA-cam post, the one where he is in a tux (there are a couple with him in a tux and one with him in blue clothes but the tux shows his dancing better). And of course- that voice - such power and soul. Pure magic to watch him - nobody out there today comes anywhere near close to his league.
This is Bobby Darin at his best, entertaining his adoring fans….. Bobby always gave 1,000 percent each and every time he went in front of the camera or on stage and never left out the smallest detail….. No matter how ill he felt at times Bobby always became a different person once he stepped out on to that stage, he strongly felt that he must always give his very best performance….. Bobby knew that he was where he was at that point in time because of his fans, he owed them for their believing in his talents, he always gave every little bit of himself, never holding back…. Bobby's strong desire to entertain from an early age was just as driven through till the end of his life….. He had this wonderful God gifted talent and had to share it with the world….. Bobby was a strong presence in the music industry leaving all others in his wake, there was no other like Bobby Darin then nor since….. Bobby Darin is one of a kind human being that took this world by storm in the late 50's, 60's and early 70's….. Bobby Darin is a legend, leaving a huge body of work, what a legacy he left behind…… Whenever Bobby sang a song by another singer he always put his stamp on it and made the song his own, this was his ability and talent……. What a true genius and master of his own destiny…… Sadly we lost him far too soon…. RIP BOBBY D !!!!!
Bobby truly had music in his soul, it came out that way. He put his heart in it. Not many can say that today or any day. He was truly one of a kind, and now he sings for God.
A RARE talent. Gone way too soon. I remember 1962, I was 6, driving to the beach. Family vacation. I remember every time "Things" came on the radio I wanted my dad to crank it up so I could sing along. Love the guy.
I was 2 years old in 1962 when I first heard it on the radio 📻 😳 😅 😂 🤣 😬! It sounded 💯%!much better when Bobby Darin when he had sang it then Hank Williams ever had!
Bobby Darrin knew he wouldn't live to be an old man. He was a cocky young man and many didn't like that fact. However, no one could ever dispute his talent. He had talent in his little toe. The man was music. Death hung over him so much that his marriage to Sandra Dee failed. But a doctor when he was young let him overhear a conversation not meant for him and so Bobby knew that whatever he did in life he had to do early. He put his heart and soul in music.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..

The master and commander. Nobody else like him. Never will be. Thanks for posting this terrific rendition of the great Hank William song. Bobby earned the right to be called a legend.
Musical genius. Let's just say it. His earlier superficiality gave him a certain reputation, but as someone who had a short time to prove himself he eventually achieved the top musical spot he deserved.
@@ellyreginald6546 Bobby Darin transitioned through many styles, partly because he came of age in an earlier time. But if I closed my eyes during his later great performances - I might be inclined to think I was hearing Gospel calling us to our Lord?
natalie he did it all-wrote, sang, played- the most talented rock and roller ever. tragic that he had the heart problems that took him from us so early. Be Blessed
Other than his incredibly engaging stage presence, I am continually amazed by his ability to absolutely own so many musical styles and be so darn good at all of them. Splish/Splash? yeah ok, Mack the Knife? oh yeah, Lonesome Whistle by Hank Williams with such conviction and respect for the original artist? Oh my gawd....Staggering.
Bobby Darin was unique. He could croon with the best of them like Sinatra, Martin and Bennett. Then he could do folk songs like Simple Song of Freedom like Seeger. He could do country too and his rendition of Midnight Special shows he can do blues/soul. A true performer. One of the best and most versatile.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..😊
You know, no one has left me with a better memory of the quintessential performer but Bobby Darin. I'm so sad he was taken from us way to young, but I'm glad I got to grow up listening to him. And thank you for posting.
He was unbelievably talented! From 1959 to today, I never get tired of listening or watching him perform. He may have passed away in 1973, but continues to live on through his music.

I was too young to hear him back then. But lately have discovered him. Wow, brilliant versatile, sexy man. Superb singer. What a loss so young. Imitators, beware. You will not come close to this genius. 💕💕
Yep, And his ACTING was as great as his singing. Check out Jack Benny Bobby Darin episode on YT, for a sample. He was superb in every movie, a natural, who could really empathize with each character he played. Everything he did was top of the field.
