Nice! This might sound weird but I always use left hand retrieve reels. I'm actually right handed. My aim, technique, thumbing, and muscle comes from my right arm. I just have to retrieve with my left hand. Thats just me.
Honestly! I don't find it weird at all! If you're dominate with your right hand you should be holding the rod with your right hand and reeling with your left. The gears will help assist reel while the strongest hand holds all the weight.
You know what works killer in spring and shallows... little minnow jerk baits like 3 inch. Pike slay all day in shallow water where it warms up first. Sometimes they're big. Spring walleye love small swim baits hopped on bottom.
For walleye I’d try it but change up a few things: downsize a bit, consider bright colours, and slow down the presentation. I do intend on trying this for targeting walleye in weeds which is why I looked it up. Caught walleye on spinnerbaits more than once targeting pike but a micro spinnerbait or beetle spin worked somewhat slow works even better most of the time.
Nice work man! Sucks no walleye but at least you got some pike! Depending on the softbait, i'm sure you'll be able to get some walleye with it though... Texas Rig is like the Ned Rig, catches everything!
Used to be my go to spot as well, went today and seen a big ol “no trespassing” sign and decided I didn’t want a ticket so turned around and went home lmao.
A smaller worm hook with a worm or a leech soft plastic would probably work for walleye. I might try that out myself. Pike will eat anything that moves, but walleye are little more picky.
Yes you can get tickets at certain areas of wabamun haha. I've heard that many are receiving tickets this year. This place is ok to go to. Its on the south end of the lake right by the power plant! Thank you for watching!
Hey! Googan products are not available in Edmonton you would have to order it. These ones came from tackle warehouse. There are Canadian dealers you can purchase them from though.
