Clayton deserves a lot more subs…tell your friends!!! One of the very best on UA-cam!!!! Actually knows how to really fish…great content always!!!!! Would love some more largemouth\smallmouth vids!!
Started throwing the neg rigs around 7 years ago for largemouth in the Illinois river. My first Saugers were off it and it became a walleye/Sauger bait quickly
Clayton have you tried the zman TRD ? The elaztech it’s the greatest thing ever made for soft plastics .. 1 bait will last you all day unless they take it clean off .. they don’t break.. if you haven’t yet give them a try you won’t be disappointed I guarantee!!
nice vid, thanks, just caught some dragonfly nymphs the other day, i think that's what the ned rig is imitating, probably imitating the action quite nicely, dragon nymphs have a kind of water jet propulsion
1 of 3 youtubers that I follow, that I actually watch all the ads to support the great content. Keep up the great work. I would love to go fishing with you one of these days since I am only 30 min away from Melville
Love it!! I bought a ton of ned rig stuff over the winter and am pumped to use it. I was thinking smallies at first of course but really cool you can get eyes with them as well!!
If you compare the Yum Dingers to Zman Finesse TRD WORMS, you’ll find the Zman plastics are a lot more soft, stretchy and last longer. That’s been my experience anyway. Also, if you give them a good stretch before you put them on the hook, they become more buoyant. As always, good stuff here, Clay!
So nice to see the potential of the that lake, I fish the same lake all the time and nice to see different way to catch them I usally fish off shore sometime on boat when I get opportunity to, keep up the great vids! Huge local fan!!
If the bite is right in the Saginaw Bay I’ve always joked that I could troll a frying Pan with a treble hook and catch walleye. Have yet to try it though 😂. Nice job man!
Soooo Yah! (my favorite new canadian saying) Even beats out Aye! and Give Er'! :) ........Even Soarey/Soorey and Oat/Oot. Im stateside and use all these several times a day to keep people guessing
Clayton Schick just released a video.... ME ....(Better like the heck out of that sucker so UA-cam wakes up and pulls their head out of their butt and let's this channel fly.)
When you use this rig set up do you find points/structure and use your electronics to see fish before you start fish? How many fish does it take on the electronics before you stop and fish?
Yes and no... Sometimes I will fish it because the wind is blowing in and it looks good. I will stop and look even if I see 1 fish, electronics do miss some of the fish sometimes... (or you/I might not read it properly either)
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors also something no longer available so I stocked up on them. was the Kevin van dam soft plastic baby bass color minnows 5 inch. With coffee scent in it supposedly. Yellow and white package. Ever see those in work form grab them you won’t be disappointed.
Wow man, THAT was fun to watch! Ned rigs will find their way to my boat this summer. I’m going to key on the worm style for sure. Can’t believe I still have not wet a line.....🥺 this season. I have a question for you on GoPro settings. What do you have your “top” view and your “hat” cam set at? I mean narrow, or wide. Love the angles and perspective of the views. Nice work as always.
I use ned rigs all the time I use 6 lb p line flouro clear and 8 lb p line flouro clear lines hope that helps 👍🐟🎣 My rods are bass pro walleye rods in 7 ft to 7 and half foot medium light good luck👍
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Over the years I've accumulated countless rods , l bet you have a lot too. I like plastic jig bodies for waleye if I'm short on bait .🙂 Also for pike in the boat .
I'm watching this and thinking Clayton could probably do as well with a 1/4 oz jig and a fluke minnow or a boot-tail swimbait. A jig is a jig is a jig, isn't it?
@@thelonesomefisherman7425 Yeah, it would be nice to see some head-to-head action against a jig and jerk minnow jr or something like that. The video does show that the Ned rig works for walleye, though, so maybe that was the point? Guys do use a regular jig for a ned rig, but it won't stand up as well as the mushroom. People have done studies on the Ned and there is just something about it that drives fish to eat it. 🤷♂️

I will try to do more this summer!! Some Smallies for sure. Largies are rare for me, only one lake in Saskatchewan :) Thank you for the kind words!
Agree with the first part he really is one of the best on UA-cam! Nothing wrong with walleye videos though! I can sit there and watch them all day
Great video Clayton keep them coming. It’s great you show how different techniques can catch walleyes. That’s for what you do.
The ned and drop shot catch everything. Those two along with a small swimbait (I personally love the 2.8" kietech) catch just about everything.
“I just movin spots “ Lol
HA!! 100%

Clayton your videos are always so helpful, your a great teacher. Keep it up! I still have a hat for you if you want it!
Great video I use those for bass all the time going to have to try them for the Walters
They work good!
Gunna have to try that for walleye in Alberta when I head out this week. Great video keep out the good work.

Another great vid! Quality lake u have there, I’ve never used those baits before but will definitely add them to my tackle box, thanks!
I like the zman neds, and craw plastics. they work great for walleyes.
I bet they do. I am happy with the savage stuff and the Yum
Yeah I’ve been checking out their products, going to try the fattyz on a Ned head this season.
Awesome job Clayton, just smashing out the quality videos!! I could watch every day so keep em coming!!👍
Appreciate you watching them!

I love your videos clayton! Whats your favorite fish/type of fishing? Open water, Ice fishing, lakers?
I think open water Pike and Lakers are my #1
You just convinced me to buy some Ned rug stuff. Another great video Clayton.

Haha :). The fishing is the easy part of the work for sure.
Indeed fishing is a awesome job to have. Thanks for all your efforts to bring us the content that you do much appreciated Clayton
I need to try the ned rig Clayton! But I don't have the fancy MEGA 360 to find fish lol.
You don't need it to catch fish, just helps you catch fish faster :)
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Definitely nice tool to have! I will eventually get there :)

Great video Clayton, I'm going to be trying neds this year for eyes as well. When does the laker season start for you. Keep it up 👍
100% Try it out!
Awsome video clay. I bet if you were to throw that crayfish ned plastic in some boulder to sand transition it would be deadly.
Agreed!! Might try that today!

i love fishing for wally's
Me too!
Are the yum baits made of Elastic like the zman baits? Or are they like the senkos?
Great video!!
They are not like the zman plastic no.
What is that "calming" phrase you use, more so on your ice fishing videos?
Sha-ki?
Never thought to put a minnow bait on a Ned head. I bet that'd kill for smallies too
They make Minnow baits that float now :) So good!
Nice
Sun Hoodies for summer!!
That is a good idea!
fish the strike zone!
Man o man you lucky dog... I been putting in 60 hours a week at work.. No fishing for me
Sorry to hear that man!
What kind of reel are you using
Not gonna lie... I love your videos.
Not gonna lie, I appreciate you watching them!
Good video.
7' or 6' 6" for walleye casting pole. Also medium or medium light?
7 ft medium light and 7 and half foot medium light rods work best 🐟🎣👍
Clayton do you know much about trolling for lake trout. And if you do what is a good depth and lure.
I know a little bit about trolling for lakers, too much t type here... But try shallow sand and Savage Gear line-thru trout :)
Hey, question for you what line do you use with your ned rigs? thanks in advance :)

I notice you are using a split handle rod . Do you notice any advantage over a full handle ? I like the full handle if I'm using a rod holder .
First year using the split handle. Better balanced they feel like. Really happy with them.

What’s the song in the background
HAHA Clayton is a Dinger Flinger
Haha bass term??
What rod do you use I can't feel bottom when I try this ?
Couple rods with a fast action. The faster the action the better the feel. Also, braided line :)
Nice nice nice nice!!!!!
Haha wow... did I say that a LOT this video haha.
What is the difference between a ned rig and just a regular jig?
It's just a mushroomhead jig so it stands up better. They'll have a wire keeper as well to keep weight off the shank.
