Geoff Lloyd speaks to Tori Amos on the release of her new album Abnormally Attracted To Sin. Watch the whole video right now, over at www.absoluteradio.co.uk/player...
What I really appreciate with Geoff's attitude towards "celebrities" is that he talks to them the way you just talk to people. Real people. I like that. And it seems like it makes invited celebrities relaxed and true.
It's interesting to hear her having a relatively normal conversation, I'm astonished by her relaxed attitude to her husband's aversion to living in the States. I think any man who would take Tori on would have to be quite formidable. They must both be such strong characters. Tasha will probably be Prime Minister one day!
she's so adorable in this! what a great smile. i love that she's doing more work without the piano, but she's making it sound like she's going to do a "solo" record soon... ; )
@exileinbriville She reminds me of Cate Blanchett, if anyone ever makes a film about Tori's life, she'd be the best to play her. I'm sure it would be amazing.
Tori Amos IS FROM NORTH CAROLINA. She was born in the Newton/Maiden area, about an hour from Charlotte. She actually grew up in the DC area however. Not everyone in NC has a southern accent, not that that is a bad thing.
She looks beautiful. I love her laugh. Has she had something done to her teeth? they look a little, I dunno, more aligned or something. She looks great though, I love this interview. Especially when she mentions just "being a guest", living in England. Nice to see her Southern accomodating roots are still intact.
She is so hot during the 2007-2009 period. I mean she's drop dead gorgeous all the fucking time, but all her live shows from ADP to AATS are on fire! Her dresses and high heels, working that bench. Girl got me questioning my orientation.
Something about the way she's being made up in her new videos makes her look so much older than 40's. Here she looks much better than what I've been seeing.
@salsebin The importance of an interview is not just to promote music, which may the least of importance, but merely to say, "I'm still alive...................just in case you thought I died" Interviews can be deceiving in that it does not show the motive which may not be about pink and ice cream, lipstick and gloss.
@matthew1mc It's those incredible cheekbones! They're both incredibly beautiful, but in a fairly unconventional, unique way...there's an under-stated, enigmatic quality of serene dignity which they radiate that makes them both very attractive.
@InModiasWeTrust I know North carolina very well she has no southern accent, she does not know the deligate inns and outs of southern living. and she is very fond of the English.
"wouldn't you just love to ignore her?" no, actually, I'd hate to do such a thing. if you don't like her, then go away, darlin'. nobody forced you to watch this thing, much less comment on it. :)
Hell, maybe you've got a point-- not that I've ever given much thought towards how British people react to the success of their peers. But in any case, you've got quite a strange way of putting it down. I mean, even as an American, I can see that-- if you're taking it literally-- it's a ridiculous thing to say. I would imagine that it would be hard for a British person to gain any success if you all resented it so thoroughly. Alas, a successful Brit is not some mythical creature.
I would really hesitate to judge the character of the American people based upon the traits or actions of rap artists. *That's* complete bullshit. And I'm not sure what you mean when you ask "how many Americans are screwed over because of their jealous neighbours?" Certainly not myself or anyone else I'm familiar with. Or would you, Mr. Lives-an-ocean-away (I presume), consider me one of the lucky few?
Whether it's more important to someone if she's had plastic surgery / how great her music is, is truly not the issue. People like her, eccentric & different, are observed & admired for who they are genuinely & that notion embodies their inner selves (music) & their outer selves (image.) Frankly, here she looks like she stuffed her cheeks with cotton & used bad makeup. Her gaze looks absolutely vacant in whichever direction she points it. What is she trying to accomplish by looking plastic?
It’s too bad that Tori Amos fell for such an obvious pretender. She's been sold a bill of goods. Mark Hawley is the type of guy who has learned all the psychological tricks for attracting women. He uses every trick in the book on Tori. As a result, he’s got her thinking that he has the upper hand in the relationship. If Tori Amos was really the strong person that she projects herself to be, she wouldn’t be interested in a guy like Mark Hawley. She should’ve married Robert Plant.
i love her talking voice...so relaxing and serene.
who cares if she has or hasn't had some sort of plastic surgery, she's a great artist and she seems really sweet and well spoken

she is a goddess. she is pure beauty and talent....nothing compares to her
This is one of the rare interviews where I can actually understand everything Tori is talking about. Awesome.
Wow its the most real and relaxed I have ever seen her in an interview. How great to see her like this. The interviewer was brilliant! :)
despite her austerity, she has a very warm sense of humor and she's very open about her life!
i even love the way she TALKS :)
She has the most gorgeous smile!
Thank you for posting this! Great interview!
@MsMariaolivia They way she talks has always been a reason of why I'm a fan of hers, of course aside from the music and her shows and all that.
Great interview thx for posting watching everything can get my hands on to gear up for the Atlanta 2011 tour!!
She's amazing. She says she won't "presume" on Britain, but she uses so many British terms so naturally. Tori Amos is beyond incredible.
I just love this interview. She is just so wonderful and fun and down to earth! I always love hearing her talk about Brits and Americans. :)
She is just so beautiful. It's like she doesn't age.
I like this one a lot. I think this is one of the better interviews of this "era".
What a nice personality.
LOVE TORI
She's the best!
Tori is the greatest female musician ever.
She is so gorgeous! American Doll Posse was lots of fun, but I love it when she just looks like herself.
I think this is one of her best interviews of this era. :)

Simply put, she's great.
I love her to bits, I'm an every album girl, she's wonderful in this interview but her face doesn't move anymore!
@N2YJP - Oh, but she is! One of a VERY few truly amazing people from my strange southern state.
@exileinbriville She reminds me of Cate Blanchett, if anyone ever makes a film about Tori's life, she'd be the best to play her. I'm sure it would be amazing.
Aaaaargh! Tori! Love!
Her natural beauty is so much more impressive and effective.

@alottatroubs me too. I could listen to her talk for hours.

this chappy does a great interview

she is amazing. 46? she looks 26.
@Helixomni Why did you say that ?
Something about the way she's being made up in her new videos makes her look so much older than 40's. Here she looks much better than what I've been seeing.

yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. i see that. it's strange and i don't know why
@BugAMartini im gonna see her in dublin in july too.!! woohoo!!
@sleepypoodle I always think that too - that Tori looks like Cate Blanchett!
its just mje, or is her face similar with Sarah Chalke?
Fox
@beatniece and yet her music isn't affected.
@england9003
thats sad...
lucky guy
Tori needs to head down the A30 and my mother will cook her a proper pasty...I bet she's never tasted a good one.
@InModiasWeTrust I know North carolina very well she has no southern accent, she does not know the deligate inns and outs of southern living. and she is very fond of the English.
@lavanguardiadelsol she's american.
Abbey Road. Yeah, Tori!
so? what's more important--whether she's had plastic surgery or not, or her music?
"wouldn't you just love to ignore her?"
no, actually, I'd hate to do such a thing. if you don't like her, then go away, darlin'. nobody forced you to watch this thing, much less comment on it. :)
why even mention it? you just made age an issue.
she is definately not from North Carolina.
Her husband didn't want to live in America because of the violence? He must have watched too many movies.
@Jay Sharp No YOU! lol
@dmh497 Oh my God get a life instead of analyzing and criticizing people you know nothing about.
We hate it when our friends become successful, and if they're Northern, that makes it even worse.
hmmm... this is not directed to anyone in particular, but reptilian is an ADJECTIVE! She's a reptilian what? btw...I love Tori!

Wins on chart: "most heartbraking interviews in the world"... Uh uh, call me in case you leave your husband honey.

damn, she really fell into the botox trap. :-(
Yeah, I'd peobly want to drag her away and keep her to myself as well.
cool answer Jen. let the ignorant stay ignorant. the world dont need them :)
sure she's had surgery. Around her eyes look totally lifted and her cheeks have gone
not a damn bit of emotion...
You just made age an issue. Would you say that about a man? NO.
