NICE BEAVER AND OTTER.
Love watching your videos beaver is my favorite to trap just amazes me how many beaver you have to be able to catch 350 a year and keep coming back and catching them your population must be insane
Thanks for watching! Beaver population here is insane.I can trap the same spots year after year and not even make a dent in the population.
That was awesome!!!!! Keep the videos coming

wow that's a small trap =(
Just subbed love your videos keep up the great work.
+Logan Floyd Thanks Logan!
Awesome eh!
This really is an awesome video! Considering the trap line time alone, I cant even begin to imagine how much work and time went into making it. Especially when you add the additional time for filming and editing. Thank you for your efforts and what you do. I have learned a lot from watching your videos and look forward to any you may post in the future. Don't let the UA-cam censorship get you down man. Question for you: I would love to know how you make your castor lure. I've heard you mention some of the ingredients before in other videos but I was hoping to learn how in detail. Different ingredients? Fresh or dried castor glands? (if that even matters) How do you prevent spoilage? Things of that nature...now if this is a private/secret then I completely understand if you would prefer to keep that confidential. Also, I am a southern trapper (North Carolina) and I am curious if the lure your making would have the same effect down here. Its my understanding that our beaver wont always respond to castor lure as well as the more northern do...thoughts on this?Thank you once again man...great stuff!!!
wonderful video really enjoyed watching it good going have lots of beaver to trap my self to thin out for a friend of mine as well as clear out a bunch of fisher next year for my brother many areas to trap but getting help next year tons of area and can't cover all by myself but next year will be better already have some trapping friends to help out. Good luck with all your trapping.
Thanks allot Robert for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it =) Good luck with your trapline next year!
330 MaNiaC YVW always enjoy your videos as they explain a lot and personally I'm not a big beaver trapper but have to learn as my friend has lots of beaver he wants me to remove. Good luck to you as well on next years trapping!

cheers from Northern Ontario
Bob Lee Hi Bob nice to meet ya. Looks like it might be a greaat spring for beaver trapping! I sell all of my beaver whole and unskinned for the most part unless i'm keeping some of the meat.
Watch this video Fellas...best beaver trapper around the Great lakes...Great video bro...Man can you put the fur up...How long is your line? Do you run into a lot of other trappers around where you are at? Great video and by far the best on the tube...Crazy with the little beaver on the house...You actually have a fur buyer there that buys whole beaver? Have you had beavers ripped apart before? I have had a few thru the years and am guessing wolfs also...Crazy with 348 beavers...3 Springs ago my buddy and his friend trapped 318 around here and the next year they were like there is hardly any beaver around...I wondered why, lol...You can find them but they are hard to get to...There making a come back but the trapping pressure around here is sick...Every pond, creek and river is trapped hard...Hopefully with the3 feet of snow we got at the end of October helped the critters this last fall...Did you hit 350?
Heith Gagnon Hey pal thanks for the kind words. Sorry i didn't comment earlier. For some reason You Tube hid your comment like it was spam or something lol. Well I run around twenty five 330s and any number of snares also. some footholds in the spring also but maybe a half dozen. The key to catching good numbers is I always am moving traps. as soon as I make some good catches I will move those traps to new locations so I always have good producing sets out. There are a few trappers around here but not many big ones. I have a buyer here that prefers to buy his beaver whole because he does all his own processing and thats where he makes his money. Selling the meat and the castor adds up. I have them tore up but not often. Last year I have a few that were destroyed up in the state park. I assumed it was wolves or possibly a bear because whatever it was bent my rebar stake to a 45 degree angle trying to pull the trap stake out with the beaver and trap. The area I trap Literally has hundreds of lakes, ponds, sloughs, rivers you name it running around and through here. It's actually called the lakes area and there are beaver denned up in just about every one of them. I been trapping all of these same areas for the past 20 years and my father and grandpa did before that. Even yet still the local DNR gets over 200 callas per summer on beaver causing problems. funny there are still that many of them causing trouble even with me out there trapping so many! And if anyone would like to share this video I would be very greatful. It's my best video on beaver trapping to date I feel and put alot of time and work into putting it together. I hope you all enjoy it and thanks again Kieth!
Can one do this well trapping beaver on public land in MN?
Yes for sure!
This is an older post that I just came across and I love it. Great job with tons of information on multiple types of sets. I do have one question. When you shoot them, where do you shoot, lungs or head? Which is the best location for fur and humane purposes?
I shoot in the head to save on fur damage
Did you say that's number 350 for the year?!? That's impressive man great work and great videos.
Yup. I ended the year with 364 beaver. It was a long season! Thanks for watching pal.
+330 MaNiaC 364?? Man, thats tons of beavers! Well done!
Как всегда - супер!
Привет из России!
Alex_35 Thank you Alex!
Really enjoyed the beaver video.Absolutely great!! Congrats on catching 350 beaver-man thats a lot of work!! Do you put them up or sell in the round? What a great time of the year to be out there trapping.
Thanks pal! I sell them all whole and spend the time I normally would putting them up out trapping more. Mostly because I have no place to put them up currently.
Maybe bigfoot left the beaver there.
Thanks for publishing a fantastic video. I dabble at beaver trapping over by Walker, mainly when they get out of control and start destroying the forest my family owns. It's sickening how many beautiful trees they can kill when left unchecked. My best year was 23 beavers but I might double that this year as I just got 6 new MB-750's to go with my 330's and snares. I have never done anything but blind sets. This year I picked up some Sweetwater Flattail for castor mounds. The density and proximity of your sets was an eye-opener for me. Thanks for sharing. Do you have a favorite beaver lure?
Thanks!!! I actually make my own castor lure in the springtime. Those are some good solid traps too. I only live about an hour west of you.
Hey!
Where are you doing with so many beavers?
How many beaver jet do you have per 1 gram?
Great trapping, 348 beaver is a lot of skinning...lol is this your best year trapping beavers.
No my best year was 467 it was around 12 years ago.
I have no idea about beaver trapping I just have a quick question why was the tail moving like that when you picked up the beaver you shot? Was it just nerves? Thanks for your videos.
Maybe someone already asked this but how did that beaver die with just his front feet caught in that 330 Belisle trap? I've never saw that before.
I'm guessing exposure possibly
Who skins all the beaver that you catch that's a lot of work
I sell them whole
yes caath beavers, butdo clear their dams? or is wel earned on the beaver sheets.
K thanks because my fur buyer said that a 60+ beaver is $8 so I was just wondering with the trapper
I guess were gonna lose money this year it seems lol
beaver tail are tasty
+Jet Lee To be honest never found it that tasty but then again I never really knew how to cook it. Tips as stupid as it may seem?
Good video....What kind of camera are you using...Lot of good info...
Tom Curry Hey Tom thanks for watching pal. I used my samsung galaxy S4 phone camera it worked great!
Question; what do you do about the dang beaver fleas?
We don't have them here.
poor beavers :c
350 beaver is alot of work how do u keep up skinning fleshing an stretching
I don't. I sell them whole unskinned
O nice wish we had that option
Can you trap private property for nuisance control on the off season? Thanks
Yes
Which 330's do you use the most?
Ken & Chloe I prefer belisle 330s but thy are spendy.
Good info but you need to slow the camera down! I'm dizzy!
Beaver Master lol
А как ставить канибибер 330 на плотине?
That's a bunch
hey man watched litterly almost all your vedios only been trapping for 2 years and love it being out doors and learning new things would like to get into trapping beavers but it's kinda hard for me to get into trapping public land how do u find the private lands that you Trap with permission
Thanks for watching! Around here I just walk up knock on doors. Introduce myself and where I'm from. Then I ask permission to trap. I usually wear nice clothes not my trapping clothes. I almost always get permission from the land owner
330 MaNiaC no problem man your vedios have taught me a lot honestly and I appreciate it and also thank you for getting back to me so quickly
do you catch many all black beavers?
maybe 1 per year other years I have caught 3 or 4
Where are you located in MN? My people are from Marshall / Ghent area in SW MN. Migrated to Michigan to work in the auto industry.
I'm from central Minnesota
How much R u getting for ur beavers?
They are cheap now I haven't trapped in a couple months. maybe 12 dollar average
I'm from New Jersey, I had no idea people from Minnesota talked like that. Lol. But anyway I just started looking into beaver trapping, where can I go to do this with my boyfriend without having to travel too far?
Amanda Lee Ya people tell me I have an accent but I don't hear it myself lol. You can start by going to or calling your local DNR headquarters they will definately point you in the right direction where to find some beaver. I find most of my lodges on sloughs and rivers or big lakes in bays. Just about anywhere there is water and a good amount of brush or trees for them to survive on. Any more questions you can send me a PM if you like Amanda
I trapped when I was in school I was think what the paltes cost these days now
+Edward Winston Really low prices edward =/
+330 MaNiaC There no snow, What month was this video shot?
+army guy this was shot in march. The ice was just going out on mast lakes.
What county are you in?
Becker
If you weren't gonna buy belisle 330 what other traps would you buy?
Mnoutdoors Honestly any 330 will do a good job even dukes. Only issue I have with them is cheap steel and the jaws bend sometimes.
where do u sell your fur?
Fergus falls MN
Got my volume on 10 and still can't hear you.....????
Tammy Galindo I can't have my volume on High even with my phone and its way to loud. My laptop i gotta have it on 50% any louder is too much. What device are you watching on?
Question for you. With 348 beaver in one season. And a conservative estimate of 20lbs average weight per dress-out beaver. That means you pulled in around 7000lbs of meat. What do you do with all that protein? How many freezers do you have? It also begs the question. Do you just re-upholster you entire house with cured beaver pelts. A coat, hat or jacket I can understand. Yes, I know that you probably just sell the pelts. But don't you every use the pelts for your own enjoyment or gifts? Regards, BAG2
I sell most of my beaver whole and only save around 200lbs of meat per year. Yes I do save a pelt every now and then but they have to be special. like last year I caught a very large beaver that was pitch black in color. Thanks for watching pal
330 MaNiaC
Darn! I was hoping you had a beaver room in your house. Just imagine all the snickers when you tell people that. Then they walk-in the room and find everything in the room is fuzzy. The walls, the ceiling, the lamps, the fans. Sorry, a lame attempt of a trapping joke, BAG2
beageek2 Hey I like the sound of that LOL
Got another set of questions. How big is your trap line. Actually I think you probably have a couple of lines. How many traps do you set on each line. And approximately how long are the lines in miles. I am trying to get an idea of how much time and effort it took to get all that meat and fur. I have done trapping for a single season. But to get any real numbers, I had to go long distances. Then I had the problem of reducing a populate to the point that there was only seed stock left. So how do you handle it so you are constantly catching. What is your policy for people trapping on top of you. Can you give me an idea of what percentage of snares to jaw traps you set. Thanks in Advance. Best Regards, BAG2
beageek2 Well I have tons of places here to trap beaver. Literally dozens of ponds everywhere and most of them containing beaver so there has never been a shortage of beaver numbers here, As for other trappers go if I come to a pond where someone else is trapping i will not set up on it until they move on. I am really the only trapper around my area that traps the extent I do. I run around 20 330s and a half dozen footholds maybe and some snares. I'm always moving them around every 3 days or so to make sure I have good producing sets out. I run about a 40 mile stretch one way roughly. I will trap one area of the stretch for a few days then move all my gear to another part of it and keep going that way until I stop.
Beaver weren't smart enough for you !..
I live with my landlord here in New York and we have beaver in his pond and he got duck he raising he got traps out and one of his ducks got in one duck is okay but there a women live here to and she will call the police she already called one time plus the beaver taking his tree down now if he worred about trapping them out so they stop taking his trees down there cherries apple trees that they like my landlord upset of it what can I tell him what to do Edward
Awesome video
Jake Jones Thanks jake!
