This video is my current holy grail, I shot the best round I've ever had using this pressure not weight shift concept. Club contact with the golf ball is as smooth as butter and the ball goes where I'm aiming now for a change. Thank you so much for this 👍🏻
I often watch golf instructions and am left wondering how to apply it to myself. Not with you. You make so much sense! I wish that I found you years ago. You would have saved me much frustration. You don't have nearly enough followers. I don't mean to be overly patronizing, but people need you.

Amen to this! I found out the hard way (years of digging it out of the dirt) that a conscious shifting of weight back and forth is bad for consistency, despite basically every talking head on TGC talking about proper weight shift. Thank you for getting this info out there!
Great explanation and reminder, I tried this today. I focused on rotating and allowing pressure to build on the inside of my back foot, you can definitely feel a difference.
Spot on explanation of pressure shift. You must be watching my swing. Going back to work on it. Surely smooths out my swing and improves impact. Thanks keep up the great work.
I will definitely give these pointers a go. Indeed, this resonates making perfect sense. Plus a comment from another Steve that after studying this video, he played his best round ever‼️🏌🏿♂️⛳️
Thanks for the video! The weight shift has been confusing me for ages. Your video convices me that golf swing is a rotation around the centre instead of swinging laterally, which is so important.
Has been working beautifully and simply for a few weeks....but I needed to see this video in April this year ahead of tournament time at my club...not October 😃🙄... coming back strong next season
Unbelievably great timing. Just back from the range and this is exactly what I found. Whilst trying to add distance I realised I was adding ‘sway’. When I managed my weight on my lead foot, bingo bongo I went back straight and a bit longer. This makes a lot of sense now putting your idea to work. Top man 😁👍🏻🪄⛳️
That fact that this instructor uses front & back(trail)leg as descriptors rather than right/left(sucks for lefties as you have to reverse everything) is reason enough for me to concentrate on this particular lesson & keep watching out for more..kudos
Great lesson. Sometimes the descriptive word(s) is all it takes for that light bulb to go on. Whenever I attempted to shift weight I felt like I was lunging. I can do pressure a lot easier and with more control than weight shift.
Makes perfect sense. I’ve started to make better contact recently by keeping my body still (no big body movement back and through). And, I can get enough torque with turn only.
This is what Zen golf focuses on the feet making the movement or pressure. I pressure step back and the forward with the feet which greatly improved my timing.
A lot of scratch handicappers I play with don't even shift weight - they said they just push off the their trail leg and rotate. Weight shift happens for sure but you're not FORCING IT. It happens as a result of other things.
Hi. Great video, a friend I played with picked up on this with me, it's made a unbelievable difference to my golf, thanks Alex, very good video. 😊👍. Regards Geoff.
If I had learned this concept when I first started taking lessons in 2000, I would be shooting much lower scores today. And I could have saved thousands of dollars on lessons. Thanks for this video.
Another great video Alex , loading & swaying are so close like the tape tip on mirrors or even on a window would work perfect Keep up the good work mate can’t wait for next instalment 🥂🏆🤩
Aha, i only had to watch the first 30 seconds to know what this is about and i agree it is s pressure not weight move. The hardest concept for me when i was learning to do this was the shift left as i was still completing my backswing. For me, i realized, this is just something my body will do, it seems natural. Its just there so if anybody is confused by the timing just take the club back and see where the pressure is. Probably left.
Hi I like your videos, the way you explain things is very easy to understand and take it to the golf course. Do you have personal classes or coaching programs not online? Thank you
What is your opinion on Henrik Stenson's move as it relates to this? Is his movement pattern pressure or mass? I've seen your video on him but would like to hear more.
How do you get pressure into front leg though. I feel pressure on inside foot loaded back swing. How do I get it to the front foot. Do I push off back foot or bump hips or what do I do. That confused me. What am I supposed to be feeling and what part of body gets me to front foot pressure
If you are so 'centered' through the swing how than can a ball-turf contact be made? By staying centered, are you not more likely to almost 'pick' the ball up on the forward arc of the swing ? I thought that a proper ball-turf contact requires a certain moving forward of the 'mass' so that the low point is well ahead of the set-up ball position? Please explain how staying centered achieves that? Many thanks
It happens with a natural flow. And the way the swing works and club head is propelled though. When you have a little more pressure in lead leg at set up, the low point is already past the ball
An important concept which is very well explained here! And it’s unfortunately obvious there’s somehow a misunderstanding about this notion. Just look at 85 % players ! Lead shoulder lead foot at impact. The average golfer is never getting there at impact if weight is transferred whatsoever. I’ve went from a 110s golfer to low 80s in just one year learning a simple concept that basically your lead side is your post/anchor whatever you wish to call it. Also last month or so is getting my natural shot shape down. I have about a 10-15 yard fade so I open my stance if the pin is dead center I play the left edge of the green and just swing. I can’t remember last time past month that I’ve missed the green on a par 3 except 2 times once I didn’t factor wind and I left myself short, next par 3 the wind died a little and I hit 9 instead of pw and hit 10 yards behind the green
Sounds like you have got your foundation and feels that resonate and are working for you. A lot of time what we feel and what is real is sometimes surprisingly off. But i'm glad to hear you're doing well with it! Keep at it
That's me played my first round yesterday in months and for the first 7 holes I kept hitting the ground first going to the range today with a no sway practice
