Drew Pearson is the man. I'm so happy that he FINALLY got his due. He should have been in the HOF a long long time ago. I'm glad he got in while he was still alive.
Mr. Pearson I'm 50 year's old soon to be 51, and when I was a kid playing street football, I thought I was you out there making great catches like yourself. My favorite aunt is the reason why I'm a Dallas Cowboys Fan. And I'm going to be one until the casket drops. Thank for all the exciting plays you made for the Cowboys, and Congratulations to be in the Hall of Fame. Well deserved 👊🏾
I want to congratulate Drew on His Hall of Fame Career, His Hall of Fame, Induction and His Hall of Fame Life. I'd also like to Congratulate the entire Deep Blue staff and producers on another Home Run production. The Deep Blue stories, story telling and production are World Class. Thank you for telling these Men's stories. Thank you for telling these Cowboy's stories. Thank you for getting it right and making sure these stories will last for perpetuity.
I’ve been a Cowboy fan since I was a little kid in 1965. I’ve seen some great Cowboy players that I’ve admired, but my absolute favorite Cowboy is this rookie free agent, third string wide receiver who started playing midway through the 1973 season. Otto Stowe (they traded with the Dolphins to get him) scored a touchdown and when the stadium crew prematurely pulled up the goal post netting to catch extra points, Stowe’s cleats were firmly entangled and he hurt his ankle. The backup, Mike Montgomery was also hurt the next week, so now the Cowboys were down to their last guy, Drew Pearson. Back in those days, the Cowboys could be behind by two touchdowns with two minutes to go and Roger and Drew would still win them, it seems like, every time. Drew was total class, and like I’ve said, he is my all time favorite. I have been almost as upset as he was about not being in the HOF, but now, order is restored. I’m happy for you man. Congratulations!
Well done video. Drew Pearson and Tony Dorsett were my 2 sports heroes as a kid. I would catch sideline patterns and hail marys all day pretending I was the original #88. Those are memories that last a lifetime and a nostolgia that sneaks up on you every now and then when you see an old highlight that you just can't explain. So happy he's now in the HOF. Well done Drew!
Drew Pearson, thank you for ALL the great memories I have of you making a catch that either gave the Cowboys a first down on third and long or fourth and long or pulling out a victory in the final minutes of a game. Hut!! Hut!! Jobu sports report
I grew up watching Staubach to Pearson.... #88 you gave me awesome childhood memories... the only tragedy here, you should have been in the Hall 30 years ago!
ONE FINGER TIP!!!!!!! That's why Drew Pearson had to wait until 2021 to be inducted into the NFL HOF! If Drew breaks away from Eric Wright's, ONE FINGER GRASP tackle at the 47, He goes All the Way for the Game Winning Touchdown in the 1981 NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!!! The Dallas Cowboys would have DESTROYED the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl XVI, Drew would have a Second Super Bowl Championship ring, and he would have been inducted into the NFL HOF in 1990 or sooner! IMO.
Great documentary thank you for posting. No big deal, but it is not necessary to show Roger from a 1971 Minnesota playoff game run into the huddle when we're talking about and showing the 1975 playoff game vs. Minnesota, yes we catch these things. :)
31:14 I have analyzed various angles of this incident with the security guard. I originally thought the same thing as Roger and Drew based on this angle. However, there is another angle from NFL films that hints that the security guard was attending to the hapless fan who landed on top of Drew, and did not kick Drew or intend to kick Drew: In the other film, it can be seen that The security guard is merely gesturing with his foot “get off there” for the fan to get off of Drew Pearson. The security guard’s co worker, the security Chief, can be then see getting in a brief physical altercation with the fan who had landed on Drew Pearson’s body.
He should have been in the Hall of Fame a long time ago! This shows how mucked up the voting system is. It hit me in the feelings to see him broken when he didn't get in last year. Not cool at all to deny a man with his credentials, it's unholy! Congratulations to the original 88, Drew Person.
I fully Agree!!! There are countless WRs in the NFL HOF, with not even half of the Playoff TD Receptions, that Drew Pearson Has!!! Harold Carmichael, Charley Taylor and Devin Hester, just to name a few!!!
Look how many cowboys should be in the hall of fame. Ed Too Tall Jones Harvey Martin Robert Newhouse Herschel Walker Darren Woodson I got more I'm going to stop there though. Hold up wait a minute Nate Newton mark stepnoski in a few more offense of lineman that was on those Super Bowl teams. Bill Bates anyone disagree who's not up there please post. Leon Lett Ken Norton jr. Kevin Smith Dez Bryant. Will any of these guys get in.
Cliff Branch ain't in the HOF and he has: 1. same number of All Pro seasons (3), 2. more Pro Bowl seasons (4 to 3), 3. more catches (12), 4. more yards (863), 5. more touchdowns (19), 6. better average per catcj (17.6 to 16.0)and 7. more SB rings (3 to 2). What kind of man cries like a little girl on national TV? No wonder the 70s Steelers call ya'll the Dallas Cryboys. That said, Persons was 100% Clutch
DONE IN VERY POOR TASTE ON YOUR PART, IF I MIGHT ADD!!!!!! Cliff Branch is now also in the HOF, and well Deserved as well!! Branch played 3 more years than Drew Pearson did, on Great Championship teams from 1977-1984, yet Cliff only has a mere 12 more career receptions and only 800 more yards receiving, than Drew Pearson has!!! He was not as CLUTCH IN THE PLAYOFFS, LIKE DREW PEASON WAS, AND THAT'S A FACT!!!!

Kudos to the team that produces the "Deep Blue" series. Keep 'em coming
Love this! The OG 88! Well deserved and overdue recognition from the HOF.

Always look forward to the Deep Blue series during the preseason.
Got to meet Drew once and get his autograph.

Got to go to see the HOF a few years ago. Hope we can go back this summer/fall (2023). Need to see all the NEW Cowboys that are there now.

Wow! A Jay Saldi sighting. One of my favorite role players for Dallas back in the day.

Love the 88's. Definitely a true Cowboy 4 life. America's Team still today, just more haters out there. Deep down inside "How bout them Cowboys"
Irving did the number (88) proud. Hope CeeDee does as well. Others not so much.
I feel everything u go through is challenging but u still here god bless

A great tragedy FINALLY resolved!!
that 4th and 17 completion was so big [and the idiot who kicked Drew after he made it]
Should have been a very long time ago. ✊🏽
POLICE BRUTALITY: Drew Pearson is kicked in the ribs by a cop because he caught the ball at 31:17
Yeah.... who was that idiot cop that kicked him?
@@Mark-xl1ze I don’t know. I’m sure that he was a Viking Fan.
