Wow. Well done to the staff of the DC media. This was outstanding and really got me pumped for this year. Who knows, maybe 2022 is the jumping off year for another dynasty? I know, bring on the vitriol and negativity. You can't kill my optimism. Only Jerry Jones does that.
@@thalia.viraldreams5737 I don't think the offense has been nearly as consistent as the 92 team. This defense might be the best in most ways except the running game.

The game that changed it all was the Redskin game who were undefeated. 6-5 and you know you essentially have to win out to gain a wildcard spot. You are up 14-7 and Aikman got hurt. Now having that capable backup in Steve Beuerlein is there to see if it was worth it or not. Turned out it was worth it. Beating the Steelers on Thanksgivng, then beating the playoff Saints, brought us to the Eagles. We hadn't beaten them in 4 years and after 11 sack game earlier that season, we were going to see if the Cowboys were going to step up. They did and then after beating the Falcons, we had our wildcard game. After a big defensive game, we finally won our 1st playoff game since 1982. The Lions were just too good and they had their window that season. The Cowboys would have a great draft class and then in free agency getting safety Thomas Everett. The FINAL PIECE was getting Charles Haley in that trade and the pieces were in place for that 1992 season run.
Wasn’t alive to see this but already know our players now aren’t wired like this. We need a coach who can instill greatness and motivation out of our players. 💯

This was the season I became a Cowboys fan thanks to some great friends that had recently moved into the area I was living in at the time. They would invite us over to their house to watch MNF every time the Cowboys played on MNF that season. I miss these years.
My favorite seasons that I experienced were 1983 because of all the great come from behind victories they pulled out, as well as 1991 because the excitement that I felt about the team and how they were winning their games, and then the following year 1992 because it was my first time witnessing my favorite team win the Super Bowl. I've been a Dallas Cowboys fan since 1980 when I was 6 years old. The reason for my admiration for them began with the guy who influenced me to throw on the shoulder pads and who is still my football hero Tony Dorsett.
During the 16 game season years of the NFL, 78-20, teams that sent a QB, RB, WR, and a TE to the Pro Bowl in the same season, on average, went 12-4. From 91 through 95 Dallas sent a QB (Aikman), RB (Smith), WR (Irvin), and a TE (Novacek) to the Pro Bowl together as a group for 5 straight NFL seasons. This is the 1st and only time in NFL history a team has done that. Dallas's average record during those 5 seasons was 12-4, including going 12-4 or better for 4 straight seasons, which was an NFL record at the time. prior to that the record was 3 straight seasons of at least 12 wins by the Dolphins from 83-85. That helped to explain in part the Dynasty run and the constant 12-4 records. What explains the Super Bowl wins and the 10-1 Post Season record from 92-95 was the fact that the team got better in the Playoffs. Every playoff victory was by at least 10 points with the average score being 32-18. Aikmans playoff passer rating during that 4 year run was 109.6, Smith (NFL record for most rushing yards in the playoffs) and Irvin (3rd most receiving yards in playoff history) continued their Pro Bowl production in the playoffs, Novacek (17 catches in 3 Super Bowls) got slightly better come playoff time, but even guys like Harper got better. He holds the NFL record for yards per catch in the playoffs. Defensive players got better as well, Tony Tolbert was the sack leader in the playoffs for the Cowboys. He's on a very short list of NFL players who have at least 10 sacks in their playoff careers. Jim Jeffcoat had 6 sacks in 8 playoff games with the Cowboys. DBs became football magnents and were collecting INTs like crazy in the playoffs, Eddie Murray went 7-7 on FG attempts in the 93 Playoffs, and let us not forget James Washington Super Bowl 28 performance. This was truly a special team that we will never see again.
Great film, love it, you could feel the greatness coming. I like the similar Batman Begins music that relates to it. There is an error at 19:19, that Packers game is not at Texas Stadium.
I would've liked to hear from Bill Bates. Both him and Jeffcoat were from the Landry era. Both started in '83. But , I loved this look at the way the Cowboys started their rise as the team of the '90's.
Great video. I remember living in that time as a fan. It was kinda like now. Nothing but disappointment 😞. Then the intensity changed. You saw a different team in 91. Kind of what we need. One thing we don't need is Oxnard. This TEAM hasn't earned that privilege. We need to stay in Texas. No more Jerry.
If the Cowboys don't have the best media and marketing, tell me who does?? So well done, brings back so many memories. Maybe one of my favorite years as a fan. Jimmy Johnson was sooo good. They could be taken advantage of good passing attacks in 1991, so he goes out and drafts CB Kevin Smith in the first round, Robert Jones and Darren Woodson in the 2nd, signs Thomas Everett and then Charles Haley falls into his lap, and presto - the pass defense goes from 23rd to 5th in yards allowed and they defeat NFL HOFers Steve Young and Jim Kelly in the playoffs.

Steve Buerlein was a great pick up. I remember he was giving a big contract for a back up for those days but he turned out to be insurance well paid. He saved the 91 season.
The last great run. It really came together that year and paved the way to 3 Super Bowls. I still believe it should’ve been 4 straight, and not because of a flagrant pass interference that was never called. If Dallas doesn’t turn the ball over 3 straight possessions, I still think we win that game. Even the way it eventually played out, the 49ers were nervous in the second half until the PI call that never was
I was born in 1996 and been a fan all my life. I wish I could claim these SuperBowls mine as a fan but for me and my generation it’s like we’ve won nothing and it’s sucks so bad
the 1991 season started with the 1991 draft, which is considered one of the all time best...I remember they had the #1 overall pick in that draft because for some reason they traded New England for it; they wanted Rocket Ismail but he ended up going to the CFL, and the Cowboys took Russell Maryland #1 overall! Of course, funny thing is that Rocket ended up joining the team eight years later. Imagine if Ismail had agreed to be the #1 pick, they probably would not have drafted Alvin Harper that year, but man...Irvin and Ismail in their primes?

I miss this kind of football so much. The NFL is unwatchable to me now. Silly finesse game with constant pass interference that is selectively called. The salary cap was the biggest leap into the mediocrity it is now. The Fullback position no longer exists and Shotgun on 3rd and 4th and one yard situations is insane. The 90's Cowboys, the last great power running offense of the NFL.
Cowboys vs Packers 9/29/91 @ Texas Stadium?? Anyone with a brain knows that game was in Milwaukee County Stadium. Geez even the Cowboys video department is Bush League. That’s who the Cowboys are and that’s what they do. They will never win another Super Bowl with Jerry Jones as the owner
young ppl out there this is why us older guys rag on this generation so much.. IMO this generation of athletes are spoiled and soft.. do you actually think that anyone from todays era would be caught out in the Texas heat in mid summer doing 2 a days, if they still had them??? lmaoooo there aint no EFFEN way!! hell im not even an athlete and i dont want to be out in the Texas summer heat, but the point is even though it was extremely uncomfortable it made them tougher and conditioned .. they dont even practice in full pads or have multiple practices a day nowadays. the money is too good and the drive to be excellent is too low in todays sports.. at the end of the season many times its been reported that michael irvin was at the facility running routes and sprints after a long season just to stay ahead of the competition.. you dont see that drive and will anymore.. sometimes i get the feeling that if teams win today great but if they dont oh, well theres always next year now get out my way im going to get into my 600k car on my way to the club!! i dont mean to piss on this generation of ppl and players but everything seems watered down and inauthentic..everythng seems like a brand.. theres truly no team just I and my financial planner and my social media handler.. this is when ppl were ppl and not brands!! idk i guess i just miss this time in sports and in life..

Won’t count Deion sander Defensive
Cowboys vs Packers 9/29/91 @ Texas Stadium?? Anyone with a brain knows that game was in Milwaukee County Stadium. Geez even the Cowboys video department is Bush League. That’s who the Cowboys are and that’s what they do. They will never win another Super Bowl with Jerry Jones as the owner
young ppl out there this is why us older guys rag on this generation so much.. IMO this generation of athletes are spoiled and soft.. do you actually think that anyone from todays era would be caught out in the Texas heat in mid summer doing 2 a days, if they still had them??? lmaoooo there aint no EFFEN way!! hell im not even an athlete and i dont want to be out in the Texas summer heat, but the point is even though it was extremely uncomfortable it made them tougher and conditioned .. they dont even practice in full pads or have multiple practices a day nowadays. the money is too good and the drive to be excellent is too low in todays sports.. at the end of the season many times its been reported that michael irvin was at the facility running routes and sprints after a long season just to stay ahead of the competition.. you dont see that drive and will anymore.. sometimes i get the feeling that if teams win today great but if they dont oh, well theres always next year now get out my way im going to get into my 600k car on my way to the club!! i dont mean to piss on this generation of ppl and players but everything seems watered down and inauthentic..everythng seems like a brand.. theres truly no team just I and my financial planner and my social media handler.. this is when ppl were ppl and not brands!! idk i guess i just miss this time in sports and in life..
weren't any participation trophies back then either
@@howieronay agreed👍👍
all true. Which is why I don't watch current games.
