I watched every game Drew Pearson played that was televised. If he doesn't belong in the Hall of Fame then they need to tear it down. What a great team player and a man of character.
I remember watching every game as well. I grew up as a kid n Lawton, Oklahoma. That was the southwestern part of Oklahoma. I got 2C all the Dallas Cowboys games played on tv. Drew Pearson was my all time favorite receiver. I use call him tiptoe man, how he catch a pass from Rodger Staubach & then steps out of bounds. When we played sandlot football, I will called myself Drew Pearson. I was a receiver n my sophomore & junior varsity days of high school. I really wanted 2B like him n my youth yrs. He needs 2B n the HOF b/c it's way pass do.
I peeped Drew for myself when I was younger. So happy Drew finally made the Hall of Fame. I am Happy for Drew Pearson and his Family and Fans. Loving it 😍.
Finally in 2021 Drew got the much deserved election to the NFL Hall of Fame. Long overdue. Thank you Drew for so many years of amazing football. You are still loved by those of us who watched you and the other Cowboys from that time. A great era of football. Salute guys.
Went to an autograph signing at the Rivercenter Mall in SA...Understand the Cowboys are Rock Stars in San Antonio, I got there late but somehow managed to run into him walking down the hall after the event. I asked to shake his hand and he was more than glad....Class guy Original 88!!!
The gretaest "clutch" receiver I have ever seen, some of the greatest plays in NFL history include Drew. Glad he is in the ring of honor but he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame!!!!
Like many other Cowboy fans, I remember so many of his clutch receptions from Roger. Not to take away from any of the many other awesome Cowboy players from that era, but it was really special to watch those two. Most times, it didn't matter what the score was, because with Roger and Drew on the field, the game was almost always within reach. Here's to you, #88, Drew Pearson; what a great and magnificent player you were, and know you are in the hearts of many of us older Cowboy fans; deservedly so.
Wow, what an awesome tribute to the great Drew pearson, congrats Drew, your Cowboy family loves you and your teammates do to. Next stop......Canton, where your bust belongs right next to your QB Roger Staubach! The two of you gave us so many great memories and epitomize the meaning of the word leadership as well as showing us the heart of a champion!
I could always count on him to make BIG plays.....Espicially in close games....My First Favorite WR!!!...My joy in life came from the Dallas Cowboys from "74"-"82"
Drew Pearson. What a great receiver he was. I watched his entire career. I can't remember a single time he didn't make the big play, when called upon. He belongs in the Hall Of Fame.
My best memory of Drew was him catching two TD s late in the 4th quarter against Atlanta in the Divisional Round in 1980. They came back from 17 points down to knock the Falcons out of the playoffs on the road. Everyone knew White was going to Drew and he caught both passes in heavy traffic.
I would hope that the 2020 Cowboys have watched this video!!!! It filled me with pride and honor!!!! These men are the true Dallas Cowboys!!!! True, Hall of Fame for Mr.P, Ring of Honor, all Cowboys should absolutely strive to be a part of!!!! DallasCowboysforLife!!!! Go Cowboys 💪
First time I saw Drew Person was live1973 Thanksgiving game against Miami. It's was his first year playing for the Cowboys. Roger kept throwing the ball to him. Drew played quarterback for Tulsa. The bond that Roger and Drew had was very strong. Roger had a trust factor in Drew...knowing that he would be at the right place at the right time to catch the football. On the Hail Mary catch me and my brother was over at my uncles house watching that game. Man we jump all over the house...so happy!
I've been a Cowboys fan since 1973. And I'm just as big a fan as you - Imagine living in New York all your life and being a Dallas Cowboys fan - So I can say this: If LYNN SWANN (336 career receptions for 5,462 yards and 51 touchdowns) and JOHN STALLWORTH ( 537 receptions for 8,723 yards and 63 TDs) are in the HALL OF FAME, then How can DREW PEARSON ( 489 receptions and 7,822 receiving yards, along with 189 rushing yards, 155 yards returning kickoffs, and 50 touchdowns (48 receiving and two fumble recoveries) not be? While they both have FOUR Super Bowl Rings to PEARSON'S TWO, He was as clutch as both of them, if not more so.
Drew Pearson is the only member of the 1970's All Decade Offensive First Team, who is not in the Hall of Fame. Totally ridiculous. By the way, Cliff Harris is the only Defensive First Team player, not in the HOF. Starting to see a pattern here.
I remember being in the second grade watching the game and looking for my parents in the crowd cause my Dad always brought season tickets for football season to go watch are team the Dallas Cowboys
The process of chooseing players for the hof needs to bechange mr clutch 88 drew pearson has got got to go in the hall.not only a grate player but a grate human being
One Saturday morning in Tulsa in the late '80's, I heard on the radio that Drew Pearson was downtown at a car dealership signing autographs. Two seconds later I was there, standing in line. When I got to him, I told him, "They should have retired your number". He stopped writing, looked up at me, smiled and said, "Yeah; I wish they did". My favourite all time Dallas Cowboy.

Makes no sense that he's not in the HOF!! Better stats than Stalworth or Swann. Only offensive player on the all 70's team not to be in! Dam east coast writers! We as Cowboys fans know he deserves to be in!!!
I remember growing up as a kid, that was my man! It just goes to show you what a man has in his heart unddrafted free agent is in the Hall of Fame because he worked hard he was not a show boat just class! Pure class
The catch he made before the Hail Mary, and throw by Staubach, always go unnoticed in this game. It was 4th and 17 and Roger hit Drew with a perfect pass that he caught with his tippy toes in bounds. If you see it it reminds you of the Eli Manning pass and Manningham's catch in last year's Super Bowl. The Hail Mary itself was just a "I'll throw it as far as I can and you run down the field and catch it" pass, done all the time throughout football games.
JEFF O look up super bowl stats then think again. Not saying drew should not be in. But Swann and Stallworth were probably two of the greatest clutch WRs in the post season ever. That’s what tipped the scales for them over Pearson and Branch.
@@Biggdoom344 The Hall is supposed to be about the best of your era & ALL four of those gentleman you mentioned were & are all-time 1st ballot choices.
