Thank you Fred, this was really educative and helpful. Please I saw a video online saying there are no more one on one Interviews at the US embassy, pls is this true?
I'm still believing God almighty for when I'm going back for my Visa. Just last year my Visa was refused, I felt so discourage after all the prayer and fasting and preparation. But regardless God is still in control of everything I'm gonna continue to trust him, I will get through this time
Visa issuance is not a lottery. A lottery is luck. With a visa application, you actually have a lot of control. If you're a poor candidate, you can work to improve your application. Many applicants ruin their own chances because they have listened to the wrong advice. If you have had a visa in the past and misused it, then yes, you will have trouble getting a visa again. If you do not answer questions or lie, then yes, you will be refused. Listen to the person being interviewed. He is absolutely correct.
I am from the Caribbean and I remembered the first time I got a visitors visa to the US. I was so nervous. The lady asked if I was nervous. I told her yes because I saw that she was telling everyone no and I didn't want to hear no. She smiled and said everyone's case is different. I 've had my visa renewed multiple times after this. I just visit on my vacation from work and return after my two weeks or 3 weeks
This is very very educative. I just like that part of... 'visa applicants are considered guilty until they can prove themselves innocent'. And that's by having confident and a convinced story. Thanks Fred!
If I'm being honest this has pros and cons. Sometimes you talk too much and they think you're unnecessary rambling is maybe a lie. I got denied a student visa, and wasn't suppose to, because when I went back for another interview the officer was baffled as to why I was denied. I'm mad I didn't appeal. So honestly, it depends on the officer you, get all officers are different and they issue based on their conscious 🤷🏾♀️
@@philipogbodu2435 they just asked where I was going to school, what I'm gonna study. I got a full scholarship and they asked about that. They also asked about information in regards to my sponsor. No hard questions at all.
True. Most of the interviewers are bias especially to Africans his advice may work for applicants not in Africa. Like u said it depends on the interviewer majority are bias and irrational
The best way to get a Visa approval is to speak the truth, sometimes the application is already filled out and when the applicant get to the interview the answers are asked in a different format and thats wherebthe trick lies, speak the truth at all times because whatever you answered before its saved in their system. We were told not to talk too much because the officer may think you're nervous and trying to over talk to cover something, damn if you do damn if you dont. They already know what they want to know about you before you entered.
I approve this video. Many people probably will not going to agree because it's sound to simple how Ben explained it. From experience I got my visa in 2019 just doing exactly what they explain on this video. Believe me have never been interviewed in my life before, no one never explain to me what to do or what to say. When I was there at the embassy I actually spoke with the officer like a good friend I know, when she asked me questions I don't have the answer I said no to her, when she said why you should know it I explain why it wasn't important to know at this moment. When officer ask me questions and ask question back do I have to respond that question she was surprised and smile and said I have time you can explain it to me, the look on her face seem no one ever ask question back to an officer . Yes you can my friend. Don't be aggressive, don't talk too much, be original, know your story better than the officer because they read about you before they meet you. Don't follow step be original and stay to your story, trust me they can't Denied you if you original. I was convinced the officer so much after 3 days Arrival in the US they send me a letter says I have 11 Months to bring my Daughter in the US 😮 I was OMG can't believe it. Yes it was happend. I was thinking to do a video about that but I never did I'm glad I found your Chanel so I can share my story to people how simple is that.
This ex visa Officer sounds very personable . Ive witnessed interviews and had them myself and the visa officers have been dismissive and rude. You have to push back without being rude! They should give you an opportunity to speak and expand answers. You pay a disportionate fee to be interviewed afterall.
You're right. The CO who interviewed my husband didn't give us a fair chance. Placed us on AP. We submitted all documentation. So much evidence. I've been to Lagos 6 times. What fake marriage would do that? It hurts. We have a second interview. At least, the CO didn't deny us altogether. The entire process is so stress ful. To make matters worse, there's several people that had complaints against the same CO. God got us. I cannot WAIT to speak to the Embassy on October 12th. I am READY. I need my husband. He needs ME!

No, because it's not on the day that you went in for the interview, they are going to decided if you are qualified for the visa or not. Before your interview appointment date, there are qualified visa officers that would look over your visa application and either decide with all the things you put on the visa application if you are approved or denied. People from the south do address others by saying "Yes Sir" or "Yes Maam" and it may also depend on the person's age. It's unfortunate that a polite, shy person who is nervous would get denied a visa because immigration officers like him are convinced you are nervous because you are lying when you are just showing respect.
Talk about the particular officer having a bad day, or simply being rude and dismissive. Be truthful? We have long determined that they believe you better if you lie. If you tell the Truth, they don't believe you. Ask 90%of those who get through with the interview.
Some might succeed in tricking an officer into giving them a visa that first time. But visas expire -- and records last a long, long time. It's a short-term victory, my friend, with long-term consequences. Also, remember: a visa is just permission to land at a U.S. port of entry. It is Customs and Border Patrol that actually grants entry. If they see something they don't like in your record--or the officer's notes, they'll cancel your visa on the spot and put you right back on the plane.
What is disheartening are the non-refundable fees that the applicants pay for a visa refusal. It is obvious that the United States embassy and consulates are being maintained, in part at least, by visa application fees. As long as the money keeps flowing in, they will continue this mode of operation. Who would reject a "business" of making over $120,000 each working day? What can we do? If a foreign entity snubs you, you may snub them back. Only apply for a US visa if it is very important to you and there is no other option. Boycott the US visa application if possible. Consider the US visa application as a gamble; only pay the application fees with money that you can afford to lose (in other words, money that you do not need for anything else). Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), agents and lawyers, who are involved in immigration issues may start a campaign against US visa applications. Let the general public be sensitized against wasting hard-earned money on a foreign entity, especially when there is no positive result.
True, I've just lost my two applications fee and my visa for conference has been denied without any reason. I had all the things and my company was to sponsor. I felt Soo low and hate the process. Maybe "a business"
@@jameskitoto3315 Yes and the biggest joke is that the real criminals including fugitives travel the world without following any of these requirements but normal innocent citizens are considered criminals by birth by such so called "authorities".
Well my last interview , I was bounced because the interviewer was of the view I was talking too much 😂😂😂 cos I tried to explain the reasons why I was travelling ... Infact he was very rude and even refused my greeting in the first place 😅
So basically, a visa interview is another phase of the IELTS exam? Got it. But imagine putting all this work just to get into the office and the interviewer asks just one question and proceeds to reject you. Crazy work.

Thank you Fred!
Welcome
God bless you for anything you are doing for us ❤❤
Well my last interview , I was bounced because the interviewer was of the view I was talking too much 😂😂😂 cos I tried to explain the reasons why I was travelling ...
Infact he was very rude and even refused my greeting in the first place 😅
Really?
So basically, a visa interview is another phase of the IELTS exam? Got it.
But imagine putting all this work just to get into the office and the interviewer asks just one question and proceeds to reject you. Crazy work.
