This is the place I need to come to more often. All of you commenting loved this movie as much as I did. I thought I was alone in thinking this movie was a masterpiece but now I'm relived that it's not just me.
Yes! I think it was not perfect for sure (neither was the first one). But as a musical fan i couldnt do other thing but loving the movie. I think that if the movie would embrace the musical part instead of being embarased of it, the movie would be so much better. Moments like Gonna Build a Mountain, The Joker Is Me or For Once in my life are BEAUTIFULLY done and adds so much to the movie and character. But this number in specific was my favorite, it was just SOOO good, outfit wise, cinematography wise and song wise. Everything was perfect. I guess the movie falls flat in plot, but i am glad that i liked the musical part of it and that made me enjoy the movie overall
The negatives are just from people who wanted to see Batman, it’s crazy. They are saying shit like “he’s not joker, what a waste of time” as if it makes any difference he said “there is no Joker, just Arthur Fleck.” He is still joker, he just wanted everyone to know him as Arthur Fleck, and his followers killed him.

This was my favorite song. It's so energetic and happy, easily the highest point of the movie. Of course right after this it gets super dark and depressing. That's life.

I think the set design and white suit (yes, I know it's a DKR reference) for this gospel-type number took inspiration from the 1968 Elvis Comeback Special.
It quickly became popular to hate like films like Longlegs but also very intentionally is the kind of film "joker fans" didn't want because it's message is "wow this power fantasy is actually really miserable to exist in the moment after immediate catharsis". It's also a musical and people have a bizarre irrational hatred of musicals.
Because Joker didn't act like himself he started feeling all sympathy and saying there's no Joker is stupid there's no split personality bullshit that's all him and the whole film he's just in jail living all these fantasies.
The only problem of this movie is that far this point we already have like 4 unnecessary songs It have been better to have only 3 songs Close to you The joker And this one.... Nothing else

@@ve69 nothing probably. But he is a good reference for their shared delusion. He's one of the people that claps and cheers when Joker does his thing, and leaves when he says there's no Joker. So perhaps he shares their delusion as one of Jokers followers enough to see Joker stand up in the courtroom. But not enough to join in the song and dance.
