Beautiful Houses they should be filled with life and energy. Hope too many of them are not left empty. A nice little shopping plaza should be in the neighbourhood to bring more life to the place.
They might not want that. People who want a bit of city life where they live, don't build houses in isolated areas.

Sorry I'm a little late viewing,but as always well worth the effort.I do not know if anyone else has noticed but the subtitles are a bit of a problem as yhere a lot of inaccuracies in translations As I am Jamaican born its not a problem ,but it must be difficult for those that do not know.I do not think you need subtitles as your speech is clear.Hope that you are not offended.Keep up the excellent work.Keep safe as always from Manchester England.

And yet people are living in one room shacks in Jamaica, Why? People are living in luxury but they don't have good roads. Why is the government not being approached to fix the roads? What is the percentage of the rich in Jamaica who could live like this?

Why are the roads so @$#% bad? The councilor for this area and Mayor Mitchell of Mandeville should be ashamed of their leadership. WHAT IS THE GOVERNMENT DOING WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS????????????????
The truth is Jamaicans do not pay a lot in property taxes. Economists in the USA and elsewhere have published papers highlighting this problem. These big houses are taxed like farm land and not the improvement of the big house. The local government does not collect enough to pay for the infrastructure of first World countries. The property owners, both local and JA returnees, can afford to pay more but the property must be assessed correctly. The IMF ( Int'l Monetary Fund) and other lenders to Jamaica have laid out the problem to JA govts. Which Jamaican government/party in power possess the will and have the credibility to update an antiquated system? In New York USA 🇺🇸, we pay approximately $9,000.00 per year in property TAXES on a modest house in the suburbs. We pay tolls to use roads and bridges and sales tax on certain purchases. Just food for thought to help us Jamaicans understand the situation better.
