Still, kinda sad that they won't play anything from the albums they did with Josh ever again. There's some solid stuff there. Frusciante would have to put his ego aside for it to happen.
12:35 I sometimes hear people say they don't understand why people love Flea's bass playing, etc. I think it's more than any mere instrument that draws them to him. He seems so genuine, and I think he embodies something transcendent the cuts across the whole of music, and many genres. I find both him, and his playing to be immensely inspiring.
As a bassist, I understand the minutes, hours, years and decades he has spent honing his craft. He is incredibly talented and has a firm grasp on music theory, he blends traditional playing with funky slapping. He makes it look easy but it isn't. Every note he plays has a purpose to serve the song and marries together well
It's good to revisit the RHCP's induction ceremony. I saw them live in Hawaii twice when I was younger. Mother's Milk is one of my favorite all-time classics. Thank you for the music!
What I like most about Flea is that he can be the most lovely person on earth, an absolutely special soul, and 10 minutes later he unleash the beast and be like this: 25:57
I got into these guys when BSSM came out so the lineup for me will forever be "Anthony, Flea, Chad, and John" but over the years I have loved a lot of their songs, and even a few from the newer albums have found their way into my heart. I especially like *The Getaway* , that is a TRULY under-rated album and a massive source of hits for a band so far into their career. Sick Love and Dark Necessities are killer tracks. Goodbye Angels is also killer,... amazing melody, killer pulsing outro, sick beats...just wonderful. But I'm biased on that one because I saw them live on that tour (where the colored candles were waving and pulsing over the crowd, trippy AF - see the video if you don't know what I mean) and it brings back really fond memories.... plus the girl in that video is a knockout, lol. Bands like RHCP make me feel young again. Long tenured bands like Metallica, U2, Guns N Roses, The Cure and Iron Maiden, I mean 70s and 80s bands that still tour, couldn't even DREAM of putting out an album 35 years into their careers and having THREE, not one, not two, but THREE hit songs on such an album, yet RHCP did it with ease and are still churning, dudes are all 50+ and still cool and relevant AF. Respect.
Flea.... My man..... Hit me right in the heart brother. Wow moved me to tears because like so many what he said hit me and I felt that in my soul. Congrats RHCP
They are one of those unique great bands that have such a distinct sound. Just like all the greats have sounded throughout history. And That’s why the Chilis can be mentioned among the greats.
That was the most amazing yet chaotic crazy most coolest ending of an inductee band I've ever seen! Chad is a beast on drums flea is just crazy good in his style. If only theyd let Slash do a solo he would have just blown the roof off the place!!!!🤩🤩🤩
3:47 this is absolutely 100% accurate and right on! Nowadays we are seriously missing a lot of music like this, within the field of Rock and Heavy Metal music.
These is whats called real music ladies and gentlemen. Love u RHCP... thank u for the many years of awesome music!! I grew up on RHCP amd now my daughters are 15 and 13 and they are huge fans. Cant wait to take them to see the chillies in concert soon.
Flea's philosophy is an example of Arthur Schopenhauer's theory of art - that the experience of art is a momentary forgetting of self. His performance after sharing his story of playing in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and tribute to his friends including fans, gave me an increased appreciation for their music. Because, as is conveyed in the video - It's all music; with the understanding that you may not like the song that's on, and similarly - that there is an order to communication that helps us make unity in multiplicity.
If he was so great, he would have mentioned Jack Sherman, who carried the band on their first album and grueling tour and who cowrote the songs on their first two albums.
Eddie Van Halen would be proud. Thank you Flea for the rhythm creation…Chad for a great driving cadence….but John Frusciante brought it home with a super solo and tribute to the greatest guitarist in Rock n Roll. Thank you…..”Eddie”
I love RHCP & Give it Away is probably one of my absolute favourite songs of theirs. Listening to Give it Away with THREE drummers up there -- you get a whole new appreciation for the precision these remarkable musicians have. It's an extraordinary level of talent to be in-synch with your bandmates on an average day with your current line-up -- but to have two other drummers there performing this song *with* them & to hear the professionalism and the fact that they're up there just dripping wet from natural, unadulterated RAW TALENT is 110% the reason they should've been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame *years* ago. These guys are freaking incredible!
What an awesome performance. I remember when i was 16 i picked up the blood sugar sex magix album just because i thought the cover looked funky and boy was i blown away . And I am talking about 1993 in some small town in India where we didn't have MTV and stuff lol. They have been one of my fav bands.

It's been hell waiting on them, but I got faith in them
Imagine being the backup guitarist of one of the most successful rock acts for nearly 10 years, and then being the primary guitarist of the same act and helping it survive for another 10 years, only to be relegated back to a backup guitarist again, I mean that would be super humiliating. It could have only been justified if Josh was retained in the Peppers as a primary guitarist alongside John. But I doubt if John would feel comfortable with that.
Mother's Milk is my favorite album from these amazing musicians. My first introduction to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. These guys are a part of my history as a man who is 53. Can I get a Hell Yeah for "Sexy Mexican Maid"!

I remember seeing RHCP play all the big summer concerts and Flea in all the crazy costumes. At the time I had only played a few percussion instruments and never learned about real music or how to read it. And that was back in middle school. Sitting there rotting away in front of a tv set I would just enjoy the feeling and energy. I hate that I’m such a tool when it came to names of bands and band members even though I loved the music I heard. I just enjoyed it. I still can’t read music, but I did get the chance to learn how to play bass a bit and a very little guitar. I even jammed out with some of my coworkers and worked part time running sound for local bands and a few bigger groups that didn’t travel with there own large scale production. I really hooked up a drummer who only played in a Gstring while the lead singer played a chainsaw and cut up a wooden stool mid song… he had no sticks and every store in town was closed. We actually thought we were gonna have to go get wood dowels from the hardware store… I brought every stick I had on the drum set I had at home got him and he not only gave me his favorite crash symbol, which had a giant crack that gave him the perfect sound compared to anything he could get new. I never made money doing that job, it was normally just enough to cover my tab for the weekend. I did get the memories and a different type of live for music. To this day, Flea is a huge inspiration to me. After I started to learn to play a bit I heard the music differently. All the sudden lead and rhythm instruments started clicking different in my head and that’s when I looked back at Flea and realized he was playing a bass and it sounded like he was playing lead and the guitars where the rhythm. Such a funky sound and man you could see him lose himself in the feeling and almost revert to a primal state that I swear seemed to only ever improve his sound. I went off the rails one time while playing but while it made for a cool entry into a song as soon as the drums jumped in I would get drowned out. I was enlisted on active duty USAF, and my paycheck kept my amp pretty small. The other 2 guys has been playing most of there lives so I knew I was just a stand in until they found better or got stationed elsewhere(which is what happened). A guy that was my instructor while learning my career field became a friend and then teacher again when he had me start playing bass. The same man that got me involved in sound work and introducing me to countless other musicians and friends. While Flea will always be my Bass hero, Big John is another. I miss you man, rest in peace. -from a perfectly normal sized dude name John that thanks to your giant butt was only ever referred to as little John… lol! I love you man. Maybe one of these days I’ll get a bass a Coors lite and just jam out with you. Yep, my meds kicked in and I’ve wrote another monologue…. I need to stop getting online just before my pills kick in.

one of many many wrongs the RRHOF has committed, with a good amount of blame to be aimed squarely at the band. 1. Josh should NOT have been inducted, given his short, unremarkable stint in the band (at the time, they had released almost no music with him) 2. Dave should DEF have been inducted - One Hot Minute plus the soundtrack singles = huge part of the band's story 3. Pearl Jam - Dave A and Jack Irons should DEF have been inducted - of the songs PJ played at the ceremony, none of them were from the Matt Cameron era. He's a great musician and deserved to be honored, but realistically, VS and Vitalogy (for Dave A) and No Code and Yield (For Jack Irons) are more important albums, with bigger hits, than anything Matt has done and likely will ever do with the band 4. Guns n Roses/Kiss not allowed to have members in the bands for decades but Josh can after one hot minute...? But Grateful Dead had everyone, including backup singers and Robert Hunter, who didn't even play in the band (he wrote lyrics). 5. Speaking of, if Robert Hunter's in the hall, why not Bernie Taupin? No Bernie, no Elton John. Simple as that. 6. Fleetwood Mac treating their history/induction like gerrymandering. They cut Bob Welch out in the middle just to be assholes (the dude later killed himself, could've used this to keep his spirits up, perhaps...) 7. Speaking of, why the fuck is Stevie Nicks in twice? Her solo career amounts to one hit, and a few duets with the likes of Tom Petty...if you need women, there are plenty being ignored.
LOL....at their core...this is a funk band. Dave N is not a funk player. Hillel and John F are the core. Dave's contribution was with Janes Addiction not the RHCP.

This performance was epic! OMG my mouth is on the floor as to who popped up on stage. Literally, AMAZING!
So happy John is back with this group. They play so well together, but if you get the honor of those 4 performing live in front of you, that’s an absolute banger of a show!
If only it was still 2009, not a big fan of what frusciantes recent work at all
Even if it means we must get rid of josh, even josh himself said that John belonged in the chili peppers.
Still, kinda sad that they won't play anything from the albums they did with Josh ever again. There's some solid stuff there. Frusciante would have to put his ego aside for it to happen.

I sometimes hear people say they don't understand why people love Flea's bass playing, etc. I think it's more than any mere instrument that draws them to him. He seems so genuine, and I think he embodies something transcendent the cuts across the whole of music, and many genres. I find both him, and his playing to be immensely inspiring.
Yeah yeah that's true
As a bassist, I understand the minutes, hours, years and decades he has spent honing his craft. He is incredibly talented and has a firm grasp on music theory, he blends traditional playing with funky slapping. He makes it look easy but it isn't. Every note he plays has a purpose to serve the song and marries together well
I started listening to red hot chilli peppers in the 90s because of flea
Those people probably haven’t seen him live, I have never seen the bass lead the band before but Flea can and does and it’s amazing
The dude literally performed butt ass naked at Woodstock 99. Fucking legend.
It's good to revisit the RHCP's induction ceremony. I saw them live in Hawaii twice when I was younger. Mother's Milk is one of my favorite all-time classics. Thank you for the music!
Mothers Milk is the shit!!
What I like most about Flea is that he can be the most lovely person on earth, an absolutely special soul, and 10 minutes later he unleash the beast and be like this: 25:57
It was good to see Josh there. He did an incredible job while in the band. Great material, and great live as well.
Looking at 2021.
This is an incredible performance.
I love RHCP.
Higher Ground with all the GOATs on the stage. So clean it gives me goosebumps
Very cool that the two former drummers and Chad all played together. Awesome!
Respect.
Listening to Flea's speech let my tears flow. What a wonderful guy.
Flea.... My man..... Hit me right in the heart brother. Wow moved me to tears because like so many what he said hit me and I felt that in my soul. Congrats RHCP
God I love this band! You can tell its them from the first note, even if you never heard the song before, their sound is so personal.
They are one of those unique great bands that have such a distinct sound. Just like all the greats have sounded throughout history. And That’s why the Chilis can be mentioned among the greats.
Flea making a pause to honour John warms my heart 🧡
I seen them during their Stadium Arcadium Tour and they were funk/rock perfection.
Ronnie Wood.
Fun Fact: Josh is the youngest Hall of Fame inductee ever!!! Ever
Flea is just an incredible human being.
Meh.

If he was so great, he would have mentioned Jack Sherman, who carried the band on their first album and grueling tour and who cowrote the songs on their first two albums.

Whoa....Flea and Anthony's speeches were powerful stuff.

Is not a backup guitarist anymore.....
Flea is the man. RHCP deserve this accolade, the music and the lyrics come from a deep and real place. Inspiring.

When someone ask me what "magnetic attraction" is for me, i just say "Red Hot Chili Peppers".
No need to argue about charisma, great music, great individualities, talent and so on, it's all mixed here, in this group ...
I've been a fan of The Red Hot Chili Peppers ever since they came out. My now 24 year old son loves The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Dr. Funkenstein was a huge influence for a lot of musicians over the years.

Parents Basement facts
I have always adored Flea, and makes me admire him even more.
June 26 2022 London Olympic stadium, thank you for the unforgettable concert
Wow!!! Will never be able to express how much I love this! ❤️❤️❤️
I feel bad for your ears and whatever taste you might have.....

Lol Green Day is in the RR HOF also
they lived down the same road for a bit
Its still messed up that Dave Navarro wasn't inducted with them. He was in the band for 7 years and played own some pretty big hits.
one of many many wrongs the RRHOF has committed, with a good amount of blame to be aimed squarely at the band.
1. Josh should NOT have been inducted, given his short, unremarkable stint in the band (at the time, they had released almost no music with him)
2. Dave should DEF have been inducted - One Hot Minute plus the soundtrack singles = huge part of the band's story
3. Pearl Jam - Dave A and Jack Irons should DEF have been inducted - of the songs PJ played at the ceremony, none of them were from the Matt Cameron era. He's a great musician and deserved to be honored, but realistically, VS and Vitalogy (for Dave A) and No Code and Yield (For Jack Irons) are more important albums, with bigger hits, than anything Matt has done and likely will ever do with the band
They cut Bob Welch out in the middle just to be assholes (the dude later killed himself, could've used this to keep his spirits up, perhaps...)
7. Speaking of, why the fuck is Stevie Nicks in twice? Her solo career amounts to one hit, and a few duets with the likes of Tom Petty...if you need women, there are plenty being ignored.
Yes, but more of a loss that JF wasn't with them, unfortunate timing, still, props to the dedication to Hillel, the o.g chilli pepper!
@@deweil647 Its all politics, watch what happened with Deep Purple (who were inducted only in 2016... what a joke!)
LOL....at their core...this is a funk band. Dave N is not a funk player. Hillel and John F are the core. Dave's contribution was with Janes Addiction not the RHCP.
