I'm at Stern enrolled in one of Galloway's courses next semester (pretty sure he was the inspiration behind this course), and I love how this kind of thing intersects with the generalized microeconomic view that prices should always be set where marginal cost is equal to marginal revenue. You did a great job explaining the grey area of brand value and market share that economists often forgo when describing company tactics as a science.

Also they do Truck Month generally a few months before the new model year comes out - that's generally when they have the most inventory in the pipeline and when they can reasonably give the biggest discounts/incentives to clear out the current model year inventory before the next model year starts hitting the dealers in numbers. Dealers hate having a bunch of last year's model on the lot next to the current model year because they have to discount them more to move the inventory even though they likely still paid current model year prices for them when they bought them.

The perceived 3 line value usually works until the pandemic and squeeze on certain products/labor creates no reason for your product to ever sell under perceived value. You probably deal with this regarding microchips. For things such as chips, lumber, appliances, or CDL drivers face this. Imagine having a piece of lumber perceived at such a low value and going for 10x as much because of the supply vs demand. This works in a normal market where the product isn't at max supply & demand, but it definitely helped in a normal marketplace!

You believe Atrioc completed all encounters in Hall of Gods (HoG) on radiant off stream when he spent his prior 4 stream sessions struggling on Pantheon of Hollownest (PoH)? Atrioc streamed ~11 hours’ worth of attempts (I counted 12 total attempts) in 4 days. On his second to last stream you can see that he had not completed radiant Soul Tyrant or radiant Dung Defender. On his final stream when he completed PoH he said that the reason why he took longer to go live was because he was busy completing all the unfinished bosses on radiant off stream “all day today”. This is nonsense. Anyone who believes this lie likely has not attempted the more difficult radiant encounters in HoG or completed PoH with no bindings. Anyone who has completed both knows the vast difference in skill that is required between the two. There is zero chance he completed whatever he had not finished in HoG before his stream with his current skill, and it is not a coincidence that he chose not to complete HoG on stream but claims to have done so legitimately.
I counted a total of 7 attempts on Radiance in PoH over the 4 stream sessions, with only 2 of those being in the final phase. He also didn’t use Descending Dark (ability that grants I-frames) once during any of these attempts in PoH on stream. This move is essentially necessary to make radiant Radiance in HoG a reasonable encounter. He also only started attempts on PoH 4 days ago. You’re telling me he somehow beat radiant Radiance and the rest of HoG in whatever time he had before his final stream of PoH without knowing about the I-frames of Descending Dark and already having shown that radiant Soul Tyrant and radiant Dung Defender weren’t completed? This implies he wasn’t grinding radiant HoG prior to his final stream of PoH but suddenly he was able to clear (presumably) ALL of it in moderately more than a few hours at most?
There is actually a lot more nuance to this situation that I chose to not mention which leads me to believe he cheated in HoG, likely with an invincibility mod. The modding community in the Hollow Knight community is huge and it’s fine to use mods for whatever purpose you want. What’s not fine is using those mods and choosing to pass your accomplishments off as genuine. Grats to Atrioc for completing PoH. It’s a fairly difficult achievement but lying about completing radiant HoG for whatever reason is pathetic. I have no definitive proof he cheated but believe what you want.
