$3 trillion, but imagine what they’d be worth if they hired the Glizz Meister
We’d need to invent new numbers 🥶
They don't call him Brandon "The tripler" Ewing for nothing. So I predict 9 trillion

2 trillion at best

Atrioc his channel is going to be worth 4T dollars because of his amazing marketing strats
He simply makes learning fun. I don't even feel like I'm absorbing knowledge as I laugh along but I'll find myself thinking about certain points later on in the day and even talking about certain relevant topics to people in my life at a later date. I believe that's called post-passive income.

off the top of my head, if you applied this model to youtube it'd be pre-clicking the video, the actual video experience, and then the final message/feelin that the video delivers. Really really interesting, great video big A
I think there are a bunch of "purchases" that go into it. You can like or comment or subscribe or donate or even share the video to other platforms or buy merch, etc.. The list goes on for the micro-actions that can both help/hurt the creator at any second. Thats why it's such a tooth and nail fight for your attention.
All that fragmentation is what hides that fact that this is all transactional.
Ani pog
I am seeing you everywhere I think you are starting to become more common than OWO
So "pre-purchase" is about the title and thumbnail, "purchase" is the video itself, "post-purchase" is...the comments section? Audience interaction? How the video affects the context of future videos?
The thing is though, UA-cam's main customer isn't its users, its the advertisers
The Mang0 clock is genius. Unironically, big A, your ability as an educator and your ability to articulate this stuff in a way that even us 60 iq gamers can literally all understand is commendable.
For sure. I learn a lot from watching his videos and they're just as entertaining. Unironically I believe a lot of teachers could learn from this
Good editing with the companies and how much they're worth it really helped me visualize it
He didn't make those visual btw
The mango thing is true. I went like a 1-2 years without subbing to him and he when I resubbed he verbatim said “oh cucumber, it’s been a minute dude. Thanks for the resub” and I have been subbed to him ever since
Here's what I think the craziest thing is though about the Dutch East India Company. Part of Apple's evaluation is based on its stock price, which can really go up for pretty much no reason really. As Glizzerd has pointed out before, Tasla's stock price is massively inflated and that's the only reason that their worth is so high. But almost all of the DEIC's worth is entirely physical goods. Not only is it still double Apple's worth but its almost all physical goods and not stocks.
You're talking about a British company, which was partly government owned. Atrioc Talked about the Dutch East Indian Company (which actually had land in Indonesia, and did not own India as atrioc said). The Dutch East India Company was actually completely private owned and was run for profit. It was also the first company in history that ever issued stock, although that is not how it is valued today.
@@Hanaki20 Ah, right
@@Hanaki20 btw fun fact, the voc was created by the government, but privatized it afterwords
Why can't apple just do the quarter six gambit to increase their gains multiplicatively

Tesla took Apple's model, and applied it to cars. It's effective. It's crazy that more companies don't realize how effective strategies like these are

There was a stock bubble in the 1720's with a certain 'South Sea Company' which at it's height (due to loans and low money down share price offers) was owed more than there was money in the entire economy of Britain at that time. An equivalent company today (in terms of the ratio of value to the American economy) would be worth over 85 Trillion dollars. (in terms of inflation the South Sea Company would be worth only 4 Trillion in todays money)
This is genuinely a super well thought-out presentation. Good job Brandon Ewing.
@Alisa Vewa This is genuinely a super well thought-out presentation. Good job Alisa Vewa.
3 trillion. Yet they tried to scam me by saying it takes 2000 dollars to repair my laptop to replace the entire motherboard. Then a third part repair shop fixed it for 10 bucks because it was just an unplugged monitor and felt bad for me. The only reason people feel satisfied at the genius bar is because the problem is solved, not that they know that the problem they have is ridiculously easy to fix, but that they can't do it, and they are being overcharged and lied to. I loved using Apple for years, but I can't ever in good faith recommend it to anyone after that horrendous experience because I've come to learn that it's just what Apple does everywhere now. For something as simple as something unplugged on the motherboard, or a faulty yet easily replaceable piece of the board, they will replace the entire thing and charge you a price tag just as high as the product itself. That's where they get you and it's pathetic.
Because people will gladly drop almost any amount of money to just get something fixed. Most people, myself included, don’t want to bother having to do research to find the most efficient way to do things. Tell me a price, and if it sounds reasonable, I’ll pay it. Make the experience feel professional and boom I’m satisfied enough. Same goes for most of their products in general. Are there better and cheaper wireless earbuds? Probably. Do I care to look through multiple options till I find it? Nah.
@@mzou89 think you missed the point man... The entire point is that they scam you on repairs, you don't have to do the research yourself when you go to a third party shop either, the difference is that the third party shop will look at the faulty product, troubleshoot and find what's wrong, tell you what's wrong and how much it will cost to fix it. Apple will take your faulty product, not find out what the actual problem is, not tell you what the actual problem is, and then they just change all the fucking internals and charge you way more than nescessary, or they will cite you a price so high that you're better off just buying a new one...
Whole point is that the cost of getting shit "fixed" by apple is very rarely reasonable at all and they don't even justify why the price they give you is "reasonable", you're literally just taking their word for it. Meanwhile they turn around to fight against your right to repair and actively try to screw over repair shops that actually offer a fair price for said repairs...
The reason people are happy with apple's service is because they are getting scammed without knowing it. They go there, the people look at the problem for a short time, are told how much it will cost and if you're lucky they might even give you some bullshit reason as to why it's borked (not even uncommon for them to literally just lie and say there's water damage or something and use that to justify swapping the entire motherboard). Then you're given a price and an option to buy a new product instead, choose whatever you want and you're out of there feeling that it went fast and smooth and with no clue you just got ripped off...
That's why I was super surprised when Atrioc said they invest in post-purchase. You mean by making it as hard as possible to repair/replace parts of their products and charging mad money for repairs at their shops? Very consumer-friendly post-purchase experience.
@@Kriss_941 you missed my point. I know it’s more expensive to get things “fixed”. I think people know they’ll get things done cheaper elsewhere. Is it a scam? Sure it is. My point is people don’t care as long as the process is streamlined.
@@mzou89 I think most people honestly just don't know they are getting scammed and if they knew they'd probably be a lot more critical of apple service. Even your mom who know nothing about tech would feel differently about the support she got if she knew the guy she talked to straight up lied about what was wrong so that he could charge you 5-10 times more for the repair...
Edit: to elaborate a bit, most people when they go to get service will trust the service employee when he tells them there's water damage, why wouldn't they? And so when they are quoted a price they don't question it, maybe they know that it might cost a little more, but knowing that you're paying a small premium is very different from knowing that you're straight up being lied to the whole way through...
The Dutch East India company did not have much of a presence in India. It was primarily the British East India company in India.
He meant Indonesia. The old Dutch name was indië so the misunderstanding is understandable.
@@leonstaalenhoef4838 That seems pretty unlikely. I don't think he knows Dutch, or old Dutch for that matter. I don't think anyone in the modern age refers to Indonesia as indie. Its much more likely that he just made a small mistake.
As a Dutch man I can confirm we are the real world leaders
@@davidschwimmer7940 Europeans used to call everything India. Today, there's the East Indies in the Caribbean, the West Indies in Polynesia, and, of course, the Indian Subcontinent in South Asia
@@legojedimasterplokoon2173 East Indies refers to South Asia and West Indies refers to the Carribbean. I dont think Polynesia was ever reffered to as India or anything adjacent to India.
Lets apply the clock model to Clint Stevens.
Pre purchase:
•no sub goals
•rarely asks for primes
Purchase:
•mispronounces your name
•”thanks for the sub, I appreciate it”
Post purchase:
•doesn’t go live
•forgets your name
That’s Clint Stevens, that’s quality.
It may be low hanging fruit, but it’s safe to say, apple is the peak of sigma trillionaire grindset
Edit for after I finished the vid; really cool presentation and the clock system is a great way to think about how companies and individuals and gain customer retention!
A quick question for anyone who may know a thing or two about marketing more than me, could the way apple uses their status of their phones be seen as advertising? It struck me that their cost seems so low, but I guess that’s almost earned media rather than paid media! Though I guess it stand to reason that while they may not “financially” focus on the pre-purchase phase, it is still very heavily there since the societal status that you see when everyone around you has an iPhone and one or two people don’t.
Again, super interesting Marketing Monday! Thanks Atrioc and Zinjo for making this, thanks for reading this all and have a great day!
The high quality view of Apple, and how Apple is seen as a luxury brand is a conscious tactic used by Apple. It isn’t advertising per se, but by associating their products with you yourself being successful, they do market themselves in a way that other tech companies (generally) fail to do.
My understanding is that Apple uses that aspect of their brand, the recognition and notoriety, in both pre and post purchase. Yes you become a walking billboard of sorts, so they gain free marketing from each person who purchase an Apple product. However you also get the status of showing off you have an Apple giving you those juicy endorphins you get from being a fancy lad.
But yes you’re right, it’s a bit of an over lap that completes two goals at once, much like the green vs. blue bubble.
Gotcha, yeah, that definitely makes a lot of sense, thanks!!
@Alisa Vewa i need the other parts translated too smh my head
I know it can't be done all the time but I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE marketing mondays that are actually really educational like this. Reacting to best and worst ads is alright, but this, this is the juicy stuff
i work for the apple store at the genius bar on michigan avenue in chicago and it’s the greatest place i’ve worked to be honest. the benefits are 100% worth it, the pay is pretty good and it’s a totally different environment from other workplaces. it has it’s own flaws, like any other workplace would, but they DO treat their (retail) employees pretty well.
they definitely have a massive emphasis on making their stores perfect and flawless. there are dedicated cleaning teams, technical/visual specialists who are dedicated to fixing all of the demos and displays in the store, and have planned how each and every table is supposed to look. every screen is supposed to be tilted at a certain angle and pencils/chargers face in a certain direction. the attention to detail is insane but it shows
What are the benefits?
Nice clock. I honestly really like the way you present things during these more informative topics, and even if it's just at the basic level, I learn and understand a new concept in a matter of minutes.
I find it interesting that the number 1 twitch earning during the leak, critical role, has 4 hour long streams. Once a week. Pre recorded. No viewer interaction at all. And gets gifts and subs like crazy. People just really love their content.
I think that comes down to target demographic. Asking for donations from 100,000 gaming fans vs 100,000 Formula 1 fans will yield ridiculously different output volumes. Critical role aims at a pretty different target audience to the conventional streamer and that demographic is generally going to be mor older and more financially stable in life. They'll also on average have less free time so be more willing to financially support a good use of their free time. Conventional streaming aims at people who have HUGE amounts of free time, which is kind of naturally aiming for the lowest value consumers.
@@mooncalf_4534 I've never actually thought of it like that. It makes a lot of sense. Thanks.
Incase anyone was wondering. I don't even use Apple products. I have a Samsung phone. But game recognize game and they are outplaying almost everyone else right now when it comes to marketing.
Not only marketing, but they have a lot of amazing products right now. The ipad is the best tablet, The airpods pro is the best earphone, the macbook pro is the best laptop, the iphone is arguably one of the best smartphone.
Is this clock a known thing online or something you've developed? I can't find reference to it anywhere
I came back to this video recently because it reminded me of a company called Sweetwater Sound, a music store I'm sure a lot of people in here have heard of. I live about an hour from the physical location, and it reminds me a tonn of the Apple experience. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Sweetwater add anywhere, yet everyone has heard of them. Their marketing team is world class, the purchase and post purchase experience is incredible. Going to the physical store feels like walking into a king's castle, they have a giant food court, a game section/arcade, and the music section is huge. Every employee there genuinely feels like a friend that wants to help you succeed. They have their engineers which feel like the Apple Geniuses. I made friends with my engineer. Post purchase is incredible too, if you have ANY sort of problem with it, you can return it for a exchange or money back no questions asked. They will fix things for you. It's incredible. Even me typing this comment to show my gratitude towards them proves how much I trust them for my sound and music needs. I won't go anywhere else.
Big A made a whole ass slide show with videos and everything. I love it
That mang0 example was goated. I was always amazed as to how he averages like 1k but has 8-12k subs
my manager used to manage an apple store and he told me, some high volume days they would literally have more than million dollars in in sales in a day. one store

Apple is such an enigma. I remember your 3 lines episode, where you spoke about how Apple has a crazy brand value with crazy margins and crazy volume, and it just blew my mind. It makes so much sense when you break it down like that
5:08 is that Whales by Hail Mary Mallon. Atrioc just made me so happy. Been listening to Aes since I was 13! Honestly him listening to Aes fits the glizzy grustle scheme hard

That AMD shit at the end is so true. Dealing with AMD drivers singlehandedly made me swear off ever using them again. Hours down the drain spent dealing with finding the right driver files, troubleshooting and dealing with multiple PC restarts. Meanwhile with NVIDIA I literally just click a button and rarely even have to restart my PC.
When was this? I mean I use NVidia now, but back when I had a r9 280x (around the time of the gtx7xx series) I had no problems with drivers...
@@Kriss_941 I had a r9 380x and also had no problems , so I also thought people where complaining about nothing. Just anecdotal evidence, but I had a 5700xt until recently and it had a lot of problems and different drivers would be unstable in certain games and crash my computer. I have had 3 nvidia gpus and never had problems with crashing or stability issues so I think maybe the new ones are worse or maybe some people just get unlucky.
@@adwardosa5575 I mean the most problems I've had is with my current Nvidia GPU, but to be fair it's not the drivers at fault, think it's just my old 980ti is starting to show it's age and a dark spot on the back of the PCB roughly opposite to one of the memory modules tells me that it's probably about time for it to go into retirement... Frequent crashes are really getting to me lately... If only I could actually get my hands on any of the new GPU's, starting to consider team red again, because they seem to have a little more stock and dlss isn't supported in most games I play...
I have to log in to GeForce to update my Nvidia drivers and that is fucking stupid.
I've used AMD for the past 6 years and never had any trouble with drivers, I have an RX 480 and you literally just go to their website, download a single driver and it installs. Literally as easy as it gets. Then they have a control panel that can automatically find drivers for you from then on. So I don't know what you're talking about, it's literally the same procedure as with Nvidia.
The way you tied it all back to streaming made this my favorite Marketing Monday ever.
What a great streamer, leaving discord notifications on to let us know how popular he is
At 5:15, I was really hoping he would see the chats about Enron II and the quarter 6 gambit.
its amazing you can makke these presentations weekly, so cool and enthusiastic. makes the content always very engaging.
Enron II walked so apple could run
What an insane video. Entertaining, concise, and a concept that could be applied to so many things that aren’t typically considered products. Definitely one of my fav videos you’ve made
I can't believe they made the Apple company from Fortnite a real thing
I remember that I got my iPhone 5s for 225, it broke and they said it would cost over 400 to replace. I now no longer use apple
Apple is so good at branding that I always verbally hate on Apple, on how they got rid of ports, made everything dongles, slow on new tech, stopped giving wall plug ins using “environment” as a fake excuse..etc…. Yet I own a MacBook iPhone Powerbeats and Apple Watch.
I don't have those but if I could afford it and it was my workflow I'd buy them, if not then for personal use for sure.
It's not just the brand for me , it's the experience. And most importantly exclusives. Apple just has better apps
The MS Ipod 2005 XP gave me severe flashbacks to walking into a CompUSA. Apple was 100% right; every tech company looked like that.
Id like to say that Apple stores are only recently becoming a thing outside of the US and Canada.
Like in Australia its not the place you would go if you wanted the new Iphone.
In New Zealand, there are still no Apple stores. However, they still have their same reputation here as they do over in the US (albeit with a smaller market share).
Such an impressive marketing and post marketing machine Apple is
Idk where u live but in sydney there are quite a few apple stores and theyre always busy
@@bigPauliee Been a while since ive been in Australia (They had stores but it seemed like people would get Apple shit elsewhere). Guess things turned around quick. They certainly had their reputation before the stores were everywhere
Still tho, no stores in NZ. If you want Apple, most people would just go to Harvey Norman (Or equivalent), your mobile provider or online
when the product is good < when the store is in an expensive building
i also don't understand how they are invested in the post-purchase when they slow down their phones meaning they have the exact opposite strategy as hyundai

Was just thinking about this after going to the apple store the other day. they put so much into that experience. great vid atrioc really good stuff
I feel that the reason behind high viewer to subscriber ratios is usually due to having an older audience. If your fanbase consists of people with full-ass jobs, they won’t be able to watch as often, however, they’ll be able to pay for a subscription. That’s why you see people like Bruce Greene who almost never hits 1k viewers yet he has somewhere in the range of 20k - 30k subs.
This is your best Marketing Monday yet IMO! Loved every minute Big A
To be honest though, I’m stationed in Italy and going to the Apple store is almost no different then going to the Apple store in the states. They are easily the best/easiest store to go into and have a good experience.
Swear I’ve learned more about marketing from the Big A than I have from my fresh-junior years as an Entrepreneurship major
Entrepreneurship major is an oxymoron. You can’t study entrepreneurship
I think a big part of why investing less in pre purchase seems to work more is that people want the product to BE good, not just sound good on paper. I can say for example guitar stores that try to sell you a shit guitar by just saying a million different things about it and making stuff up just to find as many reasons for you to consider buying it, while the guitar stores I actually buy from are the ones who give me a little bit of info, but mostly just let me play and feel the guitar/gear, these stores will usually have higher quality guitars because they don't need to hide the quality.
I didn't realize I was learning until I learned it. Thanks dude, well done!

BMW actually applied that unique design process to their new cars. While many consider the new models of the BMW ugly, with its larger kidney grill, consumers said they would rather the new BMWs look unique so that it's apparent that they're using the new model
Shoutout to the chatter at 11:10 who said "I PEED"
Beyond the green bubbles, group chats are just so superior on Apple products that I often find friends of mine who use Android phones switching just so they can be part of those group chats. On iPhones, when you create a group chat with an Android, it naturally converts that conversation to SMS, meaning a lot of the capabilities of an Apple group chat (like custom names, images, reactions, etc.) are not longer possible. You can't even add someone new to these group chats. It's subtle, but effective
KEKW iMessage
the music is a bit loud at certain points, but good content as always mr glizzy hands
I've never had to use customer service once in my life for a PC that's a pretty good post purchase service as well. Also if someone doesn't want to talk to me because I have a green bubble on their phone I think I dodged a bullet.
When I was a kid I always bought AMD Processors because they where cheaper, and not knowing any better I thought I needed an AMD GPU to match it. My whole life I had to deal with their drivers, and only a couple years ago when I bought my first Nvidea GPU did I find out how much better life could be.

that wasn't the joke, it was the whole package with all the text space and colours
amd drivers are great on linux, especially compared to Big N, actually Big A you should get Big N to change that... cause thats something marketers have authority over
I'm baffled by the fact people are actually happy with their experiences with the genius bar, most of my friends don't use apple but the ones who do always leave the genius bar pissed off that apple charged them 20 times more than what a repair is worth because apple does everything in their power to stop you repairing your own shit
Could you make a video on how to make a PowerPoint like you do? Or maybe create a secondary marketing channel? Id love to make PowerPoint's, graphics, etc like you

I have to say, but the dutch east india company had a "relative valuation" equivalent to ~7 trillion USD today. It was way way less in reality. Probably a couple billion which back then was an insane amount to be fair which is why the number is 7 trillion in adjusted relative value today. Also the fact that they were legally an autonomous government entity more so than a real company, but hey that's semantics at this point.
The VoC (Dutch East India Company) mainly owned Indonesia, not India.
I like this type of video a lot imagine if all schools and teachers where like this it would actually be fun and educational because you want to listen.
