Hi ! Can't find the Ardra Pata Vasas on internet and I'm curious about why would they wear only wet cloths please ?
Its from Valmiki Ramayana :
"vratōpavāsinō dāntāstathā.rdrapaṭavāsasaḥ.
sajapāśca tapōnityāstathā pañcatapō.nvitāḥ৷৷3.6.5৷৷"
The translation of the second sentence is - " ārdrapaṭavāsasaḥ those who wear only wet clothes all the time. "
In ancient India, asceticism grew significant to the point that it was regarded as identical to religiousness and pity became synonymous with self-torture. Asceticism was considered an outward and visible sign of holiness. Buddha realised that with all the austerities, he failed to realise the supreme enlightenment. Buddha had found penances and self-mortifications quite unsatisfactory. He pronounced bodily austerities and self-torture to be not only futile but harmful and an actual hindrance.
💯🙌
This is best 😊😊 thanks 👍
Jai Pashipotinarth
which ascetic group of Hindus goes to the fire temple in Baku?
Where can I meet Indian ascetics? which city? which area? I am looking for a real witch, I am from Iran
If I cannot be an ascetic in this world then I want to waste away. My heart says run to God and live in nature, but family and society holds a knife to my heart. Without the spiritual life this world means nothing, and everyone in the world seems to be madly pursuing pleasure and material gain. This is sick.
Sarmana how they reject vedas vedas are science books which was denoted by deva and devi
what's scientific in them?
@@dankpanda-hl3wn you you sanskrit then you will be know
Bro vedas doesn't hold only science. Upnishads a part of Vedas hold SCIENCE.Vedas also holds about other different things which is not related to science. So they doesn't reject Science of vedas they reject other things
@@Gold-ww9wq vedas also hold science but in vedas things are depicted as human creatures that why many people learn vedas as only religious book the hymns of vedas also written in that manner that it look like a human is praising the god
@@Sumitkumaar0999 Bro Vedas are categorised in 4 things.Upnishads are the ones in which scientific knowledge are given.
Saramana sounds more like Buddha's path
