Lol why is everyone hating on Brad? Linkin Park are simple, BUT their songs, especially the new ones, are quite dense, sonically, and utilise different sounds, styles and tones - that's why he has complicated gear. He doesn't try and play complicated shit, cause he doesn't need to. The songs are simple but IMO very effective, and all very very different.
This guy is my idol, ever since he started playing he does less and less. First he was an old school rock and roller with pedals on stage, then he moved to midi, nowadays he has his tech changing his presets he just plays guitar on stage and that's it... so weird hahah
That is the case in many big bands. You know, once you start playing on big stages you also want to move around the stage and offer a show for the audience and if you always have to run back to your pedalboard you don't get to move around as much and you can't concentrate as much on the audience, which Brad loves doing.
I saw a video recently in which Brad's tech talked about how he literally does the changing of tones DURING songs, while Brad is playing. That's totally insane to me. The timing and precision on that has to be literally down to the tee. I'd fuck that up so easily if it was my job, but on stage it makes things seem so effortless
dude like seriously brad's work in linkin park isn't that hard but brad even says that linkin parks music doesn't need all these guitars and he doesn't like being flashy. people bag on him but i don't think stephen carpenter isn't that different.
like so many other players that arent so great as musician, this is another example of gear maniacks, so many pedals, so many cool guitars, so many rare vintage over expensive amps....Make me think that this people are just costumers of a lot of companies that make this products .I"ve always admire people that arent mediocre, that has a couple of pedals, one amp and a couple of guitars make great music, ritchie kotzen for example, erick clapton,a long etc...
to be honest, he doesnt need this much gear, most of the linkin park songs only contains 4 chords and the lead guitarist only plays a few special note.
Kempers where not really around at that time yet. lol. They use fractals now. Also the reason for it is that you can't have 3 different amps running in kemper at the same time.
I basically did exactly what he did on my $500 line 6 2 X 12 amp from 2001. of course it's only loud enough for a small stadium :) Really cool interview, thanks for posting! PRS guitars are nice but are out of my budget! perhaps over-priced?
7:07 This is a Rory Gallagher signature Stratocaster. Really awesome instrument and I'm a bit upset to see the signature guitar of one of the best blues and rock guitartists in the hands of one of this techno/metal guys. And I think he doesn't even know that it is Rorys sig. strat. Stay tuned and Keep Rocking
I totally disagree with you. First, signature series are made for people and they can do whatever they want to do. Second, Rammstein's Richard Z Kruspe used KH-2 in 1997-2006 and he's not a player like one of the most successful, talanted, voted 11th player in guitarist top 100 like KIRK HAMMETT. Also Richard doesn't play solos at all. Finally the most famous signature series IBANEZ JEM is used by many people and they play just chords. SO don't criticize BRAD!
Wtf is everyone yapping about.... You don't sound better with more fx.... You can't hide the fact that you suck with fx.... Everyone that uses delay just wants to have delay..... everyone that uses phaser wants to have phaser sound.... everyone that have octaver wants to sound like they play with an octaver.... live with the fact that people have different ideals.... don't be afraid boys, use the whole palette....
I like this band but to much gear I got a 1970s Sunn concert lead head into a 4x12 cab with a delay pedal. Its 200 watts and will melt your F**KIN brain and your eardrums its all about the 70s folks!!!
I don't like that company Randall. They're one of those weak music brands like Mackie, Peavey, etc. I would never want their stuff as the guts of a guitar rig. (Though I do still have some old Randall 4x12 speaker cabinets.) No comment on the band Linkin Park.
Why the fuck does he have all this gear and you never hear any guitars in the band anymore. They are more digital sounding than ever . These guys blow dogs for quarters
Meh, that counts as a poor excuse in my book. There's lot of players rich in technique who don't use half the shit he does and still manage to have a kick ass tone and feedback control. EVH, doesn't even use any pedals and his amp is loud as fuck... and he's EvH. And I could go on and on... Besides, this guy has a good tone?! lol
You can even see brad trying to tell the camera man to look at the gear, but he still doesn't...
why is he showing what his pedalboard is and how it works, and the cameraman points at him?
I know!.... you can tell the camerman hasn't a clue what he's talking about.
Camera man has a crush on him
@@kruggerme lmfao
@@kruggerme i can’t blame them doe 💀
The cameraman might be a newbie

excellent idea - when someone is pointing at something - lets keep the camera on his face...
I wouldn't recognise him without headphones on.
I bet the camera dude was SO in love with this guy so he couldn't look away from him

@@NickTasy I have seen that video as well. It really does seem hard, because you always have to be so deeply focused
I love Brad so much I still can’t believe people actually hate on him like cmon bro
Actually the strat at 7:14 is the Rory Gallagher signature. It seems like he doesn't want to let us know or he even doesn't know it himself.
*starts watching video*
"Why so many thumbs down?"
*keeps watching video*
"Oh."

JUST THE VIDEO I WAS LOOKING FOR ... LIKE !!!
u're amazing... the best!!!
I want these guitars, Gears and Pedal board so bad! YEEET! I WANT PRS, LES PAUL AND STRATOCASTER!
he had some more interresting guitar work in minutes to midnight, but unfortunately you're right most of the time.
cameraman is a great fan of Brad
How does that big pedal board control his boss pedals?
right!? haha I also like how he says "I use this one guitar on almost every song".. then it pans out to a case with 30 other guitars in it. lol
Cameraman is in love with the guy.
Why did i stumble across a video of bob ross
awesome camera work , film the blokes he'd when he is talking about and pointing to the pedalboard
Their Studio set-up is similar to Stage..I think they practice Stage Performance in their Jam room..

Clapton is absolute shit, overated AF
He didn't seem to know that the Strat was a Rory Gallagher model.
Thanks for all those great shots of the pedals man!!! (Clearly the camera man needs to be fired!)
gotta give it to good tone and great feedback control though.
Man, he really reminds me of Ashton Kutcher
1:26 time for an AXE FX ULTRA dude!
@sidmalicious Yep
Great interview, bad camera work. Couldnt see what Brad was talking about for the pedals
I think the camera man is in love with him.
The camera man was crazy..
all that the gear is a joke. truth is all the effects are hidden in Brad's beard, that's why the cameraman always points at him.
camera man didn't know that it was not a music video..
But his music is very simple he only needs one amp and a pedalboard multieffects.
holy shit ...the hair...!
he is showing something and the cameraman is shooting his face.
Don't you know Alter Bridge and Mark Tremonti? They only use PRS.
Gibson once sued PRS for copying the Les Paul with its singlecut
Haha he uses the rory gallagher strat ;D
lol - that strat was Rory Gallagher strat
@jojosgunners yeah dont WAIST our time.
He's talking about the pedal board.... WE WANT TO SEE THE PEDALBOARD!!!!
to be honest, he doesnt need this much gear, most of the linkin park songs only contains 4 chords and the lead guitarist only plays a few special note.
@MrPayneful Haha!
Because you can't go lunging around all the amps and effects he used on the album.
"If you look here" ....Cameraman stares straight ahead.. :/
SCISSORS.......WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY SCISSORS??????
no, time for axe fx 2
Why not just use a Kemper?
Kempers where not really around at that time yet. lol. They use fractals now. Also the reason for it is that you can't have 3 different amps running in kemper at the same time.
@MrPayneful dont hate lol
Yeah, Brad has the coolest hairdo and beard ever, but show us the whole point of the video plox....

BPM, actually.. If we're going to split hairs and all..
Why go to all the trouble of duplicating top quality amps only to run it through a low fi pedal?
For variety in tone. I doubt he uses that all the time.
When he is showing us the pedalboard - it would help if you filmed the pedalboard rather than him talking... this video could have been so good.
It's okay, I didn't want to see his board or controllers or anything. I much prefer people pointing.
This guy has the charm and dynamics of...well, Linkin Park
Does the camera man have a crush on him or WTF?
Hahahahahh. Kinda sad to say, but makes sense.
:)
28 people do not know the equipment that is not music.
yeah rg's are great for metal not those prs's
Brad don't have girlfriend... because he just want to marry his guitars... :|
That is a lot of hair...
He used vintage amps for a Linkin Park CD? A POD would be more than he needs.
Man I can't say how right you are. Keep Rory in mind and wipe out the evils of shit music
200bmp shredding at 4/4 don't need so much gear as well. But this is not a point. The point is how much money do you have.
Wow. I never knew there were guitars on their records???
Where are this guy's ears?
why lol
troll detected
Cameraman BOOOOOOOO
Is that a Rory Gallagher sig? I'd say Rory is turning in his grave right now!
Silly, trolls live under bridges like chesterthemolester76 does.
Did you really go there?! Whatever...

Seriously, he needs one string and a shitty Line 6 Spider amp. That's all he'll ever need.

120bmp power chords at 4/4 don't need so much gear.

You compare Randall to Mackie or Peavey. Where do you come from? Randall has some kick ass guitar heads out there. Dime made his living with Randall.
And Dime had terrible tone. Not insulting the player...he was a killer shredder. But you can't compare a Randall to something like Marshall or Bogner.
