Saudi Arabia is WAY better than the US for hosting international esports tournaments. Way too many good players are getting denied entry into the US so tournaments end up being a joke.

One of the reasons for Esports World Cup we've setup a Player Visa System, which fast tracks the visa process.
So we've had no problem so far to bring athletes in.

I put it here very shortly because i dont want to write a novel here. People who knows how Riot works knows these things, and people who knows how riot handles franchising knows these things already. But it is rumored (ofc only riot and saudis know the real numbers), it is rumored that Saudis payed 20-30mil to riot to just get the teams to play in this event, 20-30mil for a 4 day event is crazy btw. And then there is the prize pool to "look good" only. Riot doesnt deal with prize pools, the teams doesnt need prize pools to get money from riot, but ofc like i said, people who knows these stuff knows already. In short, Riot pays money to the franchise teams, like salary, (it goes like this, Riot pays money to the franchise teams -> The orgs use that money as they want so they -> pay salary to players etc etc.) millions of dollars every year to the players and orgs who has bought the franchising slots, they dont need prize pools to "get money", riot already pays them alot. So riot got the bag much bigger than any "other game" here, public just doesnt know it because its bad publicity for Riot, but trust me, Riot got the bag for big time.

@@osku388 Its what the other comment already said, Riot doesnt use "prize pools" anymore, they have the normal prizes like the normal 1mil in every tournament. League is much bigger ofc by numbers but i will take Valorant (Riots game) for you for example, the prize pool of champions was 1mil, but every champions bundle that gets bought during the champs goes to the teams pockets, the money goes to the orgs. Last years champion budle was recorded to get around 40mil$ (which is fcking alot of money from a bundle), so the teams were there 8 or 10 teams, Actually got around 5mil free money from the tournamnet, thats how riot differs from other games. League works exactly the same, they just dont use prize pools in their events teams get their money from salary from Riot or the tournament bundles people buy alot, and the money goes to teams attending.
@@leevimasalin2301 A prize pool is called that because it's shared/pooled among/for the many placements if I'm not wrong so they do still have it in that sense. Valve has been doing the same thing with sticker sales that peaked at over 100 million $ for a tournament a couple years back when the popular borderless designs were reintroduced. With them it's always been the model that that money goes to the players straight so it can't be put towards the prize pool at all so it's probably a similar situation with Riot then

I'm really hopeful for this EWC, I feel this is perfect for esports and makes Esports way easier to watch since it takes the biggest titles and puts them in the same tournament, really really fucking cool. Prayin' tell do this every year and that this year's EWC becomes a success. I might be dreamin' too big, but this is really exciting.

In an ideal world where Saudi oil is produced without exploiting labourers, destroying the environment. People wouldnt complain. But we dont live in that world.
I dont see many esports tourneys funded by US state programs like this Saudi one is, and even if they did fund one, the economy isnt reliant on involuntary servitude from third world migrant workers like Saudi Arabias is. But in terms of Esports in general, League > Every other Esports game in the world. Simple as that, lol and cs has dominated the Esports scene for so long and it will never change, league ofc even more. Remember, there are a lot of things happening behind the scenes, you could say that other games have "higher prize pool" its true only if you watch the prize pools. But riot owns league and because the teams compeating in the major regions are franchising teams so the 8 teams compeating, riot owns those teams technically and Saudis had to pay way way more money to riot to even get the teams to play in saudis, then there were problems that saudis had to buy the riot serves to be used in "4 days event". It is rumored ofc no one but Saudis and riot knows the real number but it was rumored that Saudis payed something like 10-20mil to riot to even get them to play here. And then there is the 1mil prize pool just to "look good". Ofc everyone knows that if we think of Esports as numbers League will always be number one, it hasnt changed in 12 years, it wont change in another 12 years.

Its hard to make a mobile game as good as a PC game for various reasons (limited controls, limited resource allocation, lower screen size so graphical and resolution restrictions, need to optimize more heavily around power consumption)
