Couple tips when doing this: 1) Don't expose so much of the wire when stripping back your "charger." A few MM is fine, this reduces the risk of arcing and burning your fingers since you'll be holding onto the insulation. 2) BE WARY OF THE OUTPUT OF YOUR USB POWER ADAPTER. These batteries are volatile so monitor them while charging. If the battery gets hot, S T O P. If the battery starts to swell up, S T O P. Battery smoking? S T O P. Parents knocking on your door? Ask them for help! If ya'll can't afford to go and buy another $10 ecig, probably safe to assume ya'll can't afford a hospital visit when one of these explode in your hands. Also kind of hard to explain to your parents why you got 3rd degree burns on your hands. 3) Use common sense. This is easy; Connect black to black, red to red. Don't switch those up. This isn't rocket science and this process has a LOW RISK WHEN EVERYTHING IS DONE PROPERLY. Don't freak out. 4) If you have the ability to monitor the voltage while charging this is ideal. Most of these batteries are 3.7V, 280MAH batteries so they are small(~1.05Wh). If you're plugging the USB side into the adapter that comes with your phone look at the specs of it. Every adapter is different. Every adapter will charge these batteries quicker/slower. 5) Just buy a rechargeable vape if you can afford it, THEY'RE NOT THAT EXPENSIVE. Vaporesso sells full kits online for $30 that use salt nicotine that you can buy for hella cheap online. This shit is so ghetto but thought I'd drop some safety tips. Thanks UA-cam recommendations. You take responsibility for doing this at your own risk.
I'll take my chances only because covid made me bored as hell hopefully I don't aluahkbar the house down. But srsly black/red wires don't mix if there's one tip ill take from you. Seen what arc flash does to a person. Its really not pretty. However these low voltage batteries most likely won't cause arc flash and the third degree burns aren't necessarily caused by high voltage/heat but more rather the highly acidic compounds inside of the batteries themselves
@@luissantiago2893 Yup, I was in the same boat as you. Just farting around and thought, hell...why not? @@luissantiago2893 Ouch man. I'm really sorry to hear that. Those experiences of losing someone you work with are honestly the most heart wrenching. Complacency really is the biggest killer in the electrical field. That and improper/out-of-date PPE. Again, really sorry to hear you had to experience that. I hope you found a way to make peace with that. I sure haven't.
Everyone looking this up has no money 🤣 just buy another puff or get a pod system instead of doing this like what the actual fuck 💀 all of y’all are broke.
Instead of exposing so much of the two wires inside, leave at least half covered. It limits the risk of getting them mixed up, and the chances of the two wires touching is greatly reduced. (And twist each before you fold them. More direct contact.) Also, electrical tape helps keep the wires in place. 😉
Done it. And it worked like a charm :) Tip: make sure you twist the both the red and black exposed wires of the cable. Doing this reduces the amount of contact between each other.
On some puff sensors there are three wires and LED indicator, when used as an airflow switch LED indicates the airflow signal; when used as a charger, it indicates the charging status. If disposable pen uses small Li-ion rechargeable battery as power source(most do) then it can be recharged. To charge fully and safely you basically need to disconnect blue wire(which goes to heater/vaporizer) and connect it to 5V source. Both traditional 5V adapter or USB port can be used for battery charging. The LED will stay on until battery voltage reaches 4.2V then it will stop charging. It also limits charging current and voltage
Dropped my property vape in the toilet like 2 hours ago, bought a disposable vape until I can buy a new one tomorrow. I'll keep this disposable around and try this out. Not the same brand but it should be a similar concept. Thanks for the video man, hope you're doing well.
Ah yeah.. A business I do at school. Sadly, others figured this out but I do it the right way by using regulated charging which is safer and guarantees a full charge.
Just wanted to thank you for sharing this knowledge. I love this old vape a friend gave me. I enjoy CBD oil and since I learned how to refill the juice as well I am able to put my pain relieving, attitude adjusting, oil I prefer. This puff bar and 10 minute charge has lasted longer than the rechargeable pen I paid $70 for. Longer lasting use off one 10 minute charge, the puff is better, the flavor is better because of the temp of thus vape, And I can put my own oil. I'm well pleased. Thank you!
Yo the real puff pluses have the round battery and the knock-offs have the rectangular batteries but honestly there’s no difference other than what I noticed the knockoffs tend to burn quite quickly whereas the real ones are pretty damn hard to burn
This actually works I've done it before but be careful for the outfit of your charger make sure you plug it into a base on the bottom it says five Watts because anything higher than that will over volt the battery which will cause it to puff up or maybe even explode so be careful while it's doing this and yes it does work I've done this multiple times
Do u know a place where u can get the actual coils in the disposable. And the cotton bit. I’ve got an elux legend 3500 puff. I took it apart. Checked it all out. They sell rechargeable ones in the uk now, cuz a lot of people were complaining that the battery runs out before the liquid. Which it did. That’s no longer a problem. My question is, I want to make this vape a ‘permanent’ type cuz the flavour is AMAZING. Cuz that BIG OL’ cotton piece in the centre is so saturated. It’s why everyone is in LOVE with these disposables now. Sorry to make this so long. But if I was able to just change that little cylindrical coil out. And the cotton every now and again. This could be a permanent vape. Do u know where I could purchase the coil and the big square piece of cotton?
Guys if works, but don’t be dumb like me and leave it on for too long it caught on fire. Ion know if it’s cuz I had tape on it or what but just don’t leave it there too long😂 now my whole room smells like a fire
It caught fire because the voltage is too high. Vape batteries are 3.7v and you are charging with a 5 volts. I just use a board from an old battery pack that charges 4.2 v and it cuts off once the battery us full.
If you just twist them and make hooks at the end you would be able to connect them and not have them falling off all over the place (or have to hold on to it) ... thanks for the lesson
