Coldness is not necessarily a good thing nor a good trait to have too much... The inability to display emotions isn't healthy nor productive (depending on the situation, of course, but in the Queen's case, that's very imbedded in her, legend has it.

She's even fantastic in Heart Stopper, despite it being a smaller role of a mom to a teenage boy. She also strikes me as being incredibly down-to-earth and humble. You might not "condone" hunting, but on Scottish estates, hunting deer is to keep populations under control, otherwise, they end up damaging their own feeding grounds due to overgrazing - to the detrement of other species as well as themselves. There are no large predators to naturally keep the deer population in check naturally, so it is done artificially.

They should really take the crown until the end of HM's life as a tribute and because we all LOVE THE CROWN

The Queen was always going to be queen. It wasn’t ever doubt what her future role was going to be. Except it might have not been till the 70s that the crown would have landed on her head.

My only criticism of the series is the depiction of the Duchess of Windsor. She was never in love with her husband, so the scene where she tells Charles to marry for love is completely fictitious. Moreover, far from being indifferent to whether or not he got a job back in England, she was constantly nagging him to get one because was bored to tears with having him underfoot all day (he had no interests but golf, money and the Duchess, and therefore was without much to do most of the time). Also, she figured if he got a job back in England or at least representing him abroad, she would work her way back into acceptance by the royal family and maybe even get her coveted HRH.

I didn't quite understand her Emmy win because Emma Corrin's Diana deserved all praise imo. But, if she won the Emmy just for telling off Josh O'Connor's Prince Charles for wanting to divorce Princess Diana, then that's worthy of gold. One gets a feeling that even in her 90s, she has had to tell him off numerous times. I wonder if she had to do it recently.

Seems sad that this woman has gone through so many trusted family members and a few trusted friends, and has outlived them all … (Her father, her mother, her sister, her husband, “Porchy”, some of her prime ministers, and whoever else we don’t know of). … Who does she have left to truly confide in and bounce thoughts and ideas off of? “Regular” people can find new friends, family members and other outlets, but for the Queen of England, it has to be a difficult position to be in.
