i have a wolf log splitter that when you send the ram forward it goes all the way but on its return it stops half way and wont move back anymore,if you know what i mean any help on what to do thanks chris
Good video. I have a 6.5 ton splitter. Just as I was using it the other day it tipped over. it was working fine until then. This model has a 2 speed lever. fast for softwood and slow for hardwood. Well now I don't have the fast speed. I used to run it at fast speed until just as it touches the hardwood then I run it on slow. I'm wondering if that spindle/plunger could be damaged. it still has lots of power on the slow speed but it just takes so long even when I put a spacer log to take up the empty space. The rreturn plunger speed is normal. I just wonder if maybe you could give me an idea. Thanks from Canada.
Hello poochie49 must be staring to get cold in Canada need the old splitter working!.... First thing check there is enough hydraulic oil in..... it tip it on it's end and undo the filler/dip stick to check.... I would then have a look at the spindle/valve parts look for broken off bits or missing damaged seals as well as brockages etc. As the the slow speed works OK seem the hydraulic pressure is OK/piston seal etc, just not getting to right places.... the return is done by a big spring around the ram check out my part 3 video. Hope you get it sorted....I'm sure it gets a whole lot colder where you are than the S/West of England.....Cheers

My splitter(Wen) won’t retract all the way any ideas
Hello Jeff...The retraction is done by a big spring this hasn't broken? sounds like your going to have to pull it apart and have a look mate...!
