My favorite edc right now that just suites my needs perfectly for what I do is the Nitecore EDC27 UHI. I absolutely love this light. Just works for me.
I agree. I have both the UHI and the original edc27 and I am so impressed at how slim and powerful they are. Nothing else on the market comes close. I forget I have it on me when I am not using it its so slim.
I LOVE how far flashlights have come! I've EDC a flashlight for 25yrs. My favorite to date is my Fenix pd36r. 2yrs now I've used it MANY times absolutely every single day.
I have carried the PD36R for years! absolutely the best light i have owned in my opinion. I gave that one away and now have the Pro Version. Great light too and excellent run times.
I have been using the Wurkkos TS25 for along time now. The aux light, moonlight mode, quick turbo, big battery, make it perfect for me. Well almost, if it had a 90 degree head, it would be awesome.
I've been carrying LED flashlights since the beginning, I don't think I've ever used a pocket clip. A light that fits a pair of CR123 I just put in my pocket or in a gear bag. As flashlights evolved and output went up they finally reached a point at 200-300 lumens that I thought was adequate for me. Today lights are a lot brighter and I have several that run on 18650 or 21700. Now the holy grail for EDC for me is a smaller light that runs on single AA or 14500 but still has output above 300 lumens. I can put an 18650 in my pocket if I really want to and know I'll need serious light but for EDC and occasional use I want a smaller light. I want to put it in my pocket along with multitool, maybe other things, and my pocket won't be too crowded. I've learned that in my daily life I will use a flashlight as much or more than I use a pocket knife or multitool so I want one that I am more likely to carry because it isn't too large. I have a PD36R that I carry frequently and I have the original E03R on my keychain.
I am a diesel technician and at the dealer I work for, they provide strramlight stylus pro with the 2 AAA batteries that they also provide. We beat the heck out of this little lights. Ive had my light in diesel, brake clean, oil, coolant and even left it on top of a dpf while doing regen at 700 degrees and still works! My weekend light is nitecore edc23. Great review!
Also an HVAC tech and completely agree. I have been using the Milwaukee red lithium pivoting head flashlight for a few years now. It is by far my favorite work light ever! A little pricey but soo worth it! The pivoting head pivots a little past 90deg so when stuck on the cabinet of the equipment your work on, it lights up the board and controls perfectly. I've also been carrying an olight baton 2 for a backup and EDC .
The thing I love about the EDC27 is how slim it is in my pocket, while being bright as hell! Do you find the EDC33 to be a bit bulky in your pocket? I bought the EDC35 thinking I would carry it everyday. I really only use it when I’m hiking, camping, traveling, ETC
I really like noctigon lights, because they're a bit more complex in terms of UI, but I love that about it. Kr4 (modded) is my main carry, sometimes Manker e05ti (modded).
It is amazing how many contractors I work with that do not carry a flashlight. It is a severely underrated tool to have on your person. I have a Nitecore EDC that I keep clipped to my vest, and it is amazing.
I haven't bought a single flashlight since covid struck but I used to be a collector. I'm surprised not a single Olight mentioned in the video and very few in the comments. I felt like they jumped the shark in 2020 as they pushed colorways more than innovation and then expanded into knives, but I didn't keep up with flashlights in 4+ years, so what's the opinions of them today? I own all the other brands mentioned and a few more, all from the 2010's. That being said my favorite flashlights were Olights, various generations up to 2020 of the original Warrior line for work (not the X), the SR and Mini Batons for pocket EDC, and the Seekers for around the house and in the car. Javelin for kicks. Currently using an X7R Maurader for checking my chickens at night.
Not a fan of lights without a replaceable battery. Ideally you’d be able to use store-bought batteries in a pinch as well. Integrated batteries are a tough failure point for such a critical tool.
Proprietary batteries are a deal breaker for any conscious consumer. They will degrade in 2 or 3 years, like all batteries do, and you'll be left deciding wether to spend half the price of the light for a new battery or just buy a new light. This is assuming they will still produce and sell the battery when you need it. It's such a shame because nitecore has very nice products, but for this reason i will never buy one

I have been a Streamlight user for awhile. They have been dependable for me and have simple and straight forward UI. I have been currently trying out Wurkkos lights. I have the HD01 which is a great EDC light and a fairly intuitive UI considering how many modes it has. I have the TD02 it’s UI keeps it from being a good EDC light IMO. Good general purpose light though, it’s became my nightstand light I’m waiting on the TD03. It looks like it might have a good UI for EDC, I’ll see when it gets here. Time will tell if they end up being as dependable and rugged as the Streamlights have been for me.

Best edc/tactical lights I've owned and used are from Powertac and Klarus The best AA pocket flashlight I've used is the Klarus XT1A because it has an Instant strobe switch For a work light I'd get a Boruit V15 because it has red flash and a red/blue flash mode

I have seen so many people beholden to a particular brand that supports their site. I kind of started out my flashlight obsession with fenix have tk 35 tk 20 and pd35 but grew into not liking tail switches good for some but not me they’re not user friendly I never carry around a light like a cop all my other lights have side switches.i have several ordered the loop gear sk05 pro wurkkos HD01 pro and the mini x3 by trustfire this one gets great reviews
I have that lil' Fenix keychain light. Super handy for me, have used it quite a lot. Also put a rubberband around it so i can attach it to my glasses if I need both hands free. Ghetto solution, but hey it works.
I'm currently wearing the Olight Warrior 3 on my side but debating on grabbing something new. Any recommendations for something similar in size but perhaps brighter?
I still remember getting my first 500lm flashlight 🔦...I thought it was the best light ever!! Then I got a 1000lm light and was like OMG!!! Now my lights have to have a minimum of 2500lm...I don't care if your list in the darkest woods on the planet 2500lumens is more than enough light for any situation!!! Preferably a flood light allowing you to be able to see all around you... throw lights are Kool but you can't beat a good flood light
I absolutely loved the Fenix WT20R and they went and discontinued it, replacing it with the WT25R - I quickly found the 25 was as good as the 20, and I have had 3 of them - I say 3 because everyone BROKE - 2 from a 6 ft fall and one the battery cover broke. Great light, but Fenix needs to toughen up their products especially when its an EDC

I'm an avid outdoorsman, backpacker, bushcrafter and prepper. I'm looking for a good durable tactical flashlight that has a super bright output, excellent throw, long battery life and has a red mode as well for preserving night vision. Does anyone have any suggestion. I'm looking for top quality, I don't want cheap trash. I want something I can depend on if necessary.
@MarineX I'm torn on the baton 3. I have a warrior 2 mini, baton 2 and juat got the baton 4 but its too small. I think the 3 is large enough to not lose and know you have it, but not to large. Good mix of flood and throw...thoughts? Preciate ur vids and service
I am here to offer a few alternatives to your lineup. best work light Wuben L1 with a 2000 lumen thrower head and 1000 lumen flood option, Best in pocket The Weltool T1 Pro this 550 lumen 21K candela pocket thrower can pull double duty and a defense light and an edc light,Best general edc The old reliable Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA this light hasn't met a battery it doesn't like. Best keychain light The Rovyvon A8 650 lumen max along with 3 others level of output this little guy sports and few side leds in UV, red, and soft white for map reading ect. Best overall I'm going with The Thrunite TN12 Pro this light can do it all tactical, EDC, ect 1900 lumens and a max throw of 400 meters (100 max for the human eye) and unlike most other lights claims of turbo runtimes being under 2 minutes max this light maintains it for 7 minutes. Best novelty light The Maratac cosmos this little 14500 powered LED is great for spotting animals at night out to 200 meters. X I was just throwing a few more options out there since you're not that into flashlights.
I bought the Wuben X2 Copper a couple weeks ago and I hate it. I thought I would like it but I’ve never even carried it because I don’t like it at all. I mostly hate the shape of the beam. It does have a lot of swag though. I want to get rid of it so bad. If you know anyone interested I’ll let it go for $80.
I got frustrated with not being able to just hand someone my light because of confusing UI for non autistic people, so I’ve been rocking the Surefire Aviator for over a year now, it’s not going anywhere. Low/High, White/Off/Amber head. Stupid simple, durable, USA made, and cr123 powered is awesome when you already have a ton for optics and NV

The edc35 is a biggie. The edc33 isn't that bad in the pocket

Yes Fenix 36 pro is amazing it's my emergency car light but my favorite work light is Fenix tk 16 v2.0 for EDC: surefire edc2-dft

Surefire tactician or a Surefire P6. Those are what I carry.
