With all due respect, I think there was some misinformation given in the video. The gain in the mid range and low end after the exhaust is because of the header design of the Akrapovic exhaust installed. The header is designed after countless hours of R&D done by Akrapovic, and if you take a look at the header that was installed, there are "steps" in certain parts of the header. This is all done to alter the flow characteristics of the exhaust which results in the power increases in the low and mid range power band. The top end missing on this bike is most likely because of the bike not being tuned to take advantage of the free flowing exhaust system which it has on, which once Brentuning gets their flash out should take care of.
I've been saying this. It's actually hilarious to think the M would suddenly gain even one hp with a longer end can. All the power gains is in the headers. Once Bren gets the M I'm their hands let the actual tuning commence. 650 ib has half this thread convinced the M will gain a ton of power with a longer slip on 🤨

I don't really know who they're trying to sell this too. Drag bikes, street bikes or track bikes? $400 for the street is just a bit too high IMO especially since they're not CF. It might be an okay price for the other categories if they're made to order

@@650ib you bet at least that was the case with my 17 S1000RR & my buds 18 S1000RR all the other upgrades were identical mine was a lot stronger than his & ran way smoother except the idle his was steady mine was not but once u rolled the throttle slightly on mine it became smooth I never felt a delay or a surge when riding the bike

Just as important as the horsepower, look at that torque. It's not just peak torque at 88 but it's almost that amount of torque constant all the way through the whole entire power band. Insanely torque-y bike.

I like the Honda CBR 1000RR-R sp fireblade. But the bmw s1000rr is something else. I am going to buy the s1000rr in a little bit. I just bought a yamha mt09.

@@astu46 both bikes have shorty's on them. In fact, the Arrow is a true shorty exhaust. We've compared shorty's to long cans at the dyno, there is hardly a difference. Bren on the RR page Facebook group was stating today that, so far the M hasn't hasn't been the powerhouse they've been expecting, however hopefully they'll be able to gain more power through tuning.
but is 525 , they always change to race 520 chain ... lighter and minimum friction (no like dlc chains but minimum friction ) motogp or wsbk uses 520 chains

I know ib isn't worried about the cash savings but I don't have unlimited funds and would like to get a real world test on the dlc chain to see if they are worth the extra cost.
@@danlford yes obviously the duration is less, but remember than chains with good maintenance and tension have long durations (good brand,oiled,tension,o'rings...) 1000 sbk chain can survive 10.000 milles of road use

I just want to know if all that is true. The weight difference between a 525 chain and a 520 is minimal. A street, and occasionall track rider would never even know the difference.

Such a shame that you removed the maintenance free dlc chain for a regular old chain. Aluminum sprockets aren't worth the weight savings IMO
A dlc chain has less friction. Would be curious to see if it’s a measurable hp difference on a motorcycle.

Try to wpc treat the sprocket i believe it will make the last much longer because it solidifies the surface and decrease friction massively

but is 525 , they always change to race 520 chain ... lighter and minimum friction (no like dlc chains but minimum friction ) motogp or wsbk uses 520 chains
@@lametraserillos1 yeah but moto gp and wsbk and any other major race organizations are changing sprockets and chains on every race and are not worried about durability other than a few hours at a time. I know ib isn't worried about the cash savings but I don't have unlimited funds and would like to get a real world test on the dlc chain to see if they are worth the extra cost.
@@danlford yes obviously the duration is less, but remember than chains with good maintenance and tension have long durations (good brand,oiled,tension,o'rings...) 1000 sbk chain can survive 10.000 milles of road use
@@lametraserillos1 yes but the dlc chain that regina made for bmw is supposed to be maintenance free. No lubing, and no stretching and the sprockets are supposed to be coated with the dlc also. I just want to know if all that is true. The weight difference between a 525 chain and a 520 is minimal. A street, and occasionall track rider would never even know the difference.
