These futuristic and innovative watches are truly one of a kind! While they may not be my personal style due to their bold size, I can’t help but admire the creativity and effort that went into designing them. They’re definitely conversation starters, even if they might be a bit loud for a quiet night. A big thumbs up for pushing the boundaries of watch design!
Firstly, what a fantastic watch! I have always loved unusual designs. I had a Nixie tube watch for a while that was very retro. I love your videos so much and look forward to each and every one! Your channel is much more than watches, it also brings comedy too, which we all need to distract ourselves from the injustices in the world right now. You do have a very calming voice that my partner actually falls asleep to at night while I am watching your videos. So everyone's a winner! Keep up the good work Joe! 🙂
Hi Nekkid, I love watches and in the future I plan to equip myself for taking care of my automatics watches. I love these watches, finaly somebody got realy inspired and created something Divinely different. Congratulation Jason and his Dad MecExp
When I first glanced at your giveaway promo on UA-cam for these watches,I didn’t watch(pun) as I thought they were two refurb watches being given away for a gimmick…how wrong was I !!! I have watched(pun again) and just amazed at the out there originality of the design. I wish the father and son team behind this brand every success and hope many of these watches find their way into lots of Christmas stockings this year!👌🏻
Thanks for introducing us to this marvel of mechanical engineering !! What a wonder. Have enjoyed your videos for a year maybe. Truly enjoyable. Even your helpers are great :-) .
SCAM ALERT: I got taken for $70 in a scam involving this giveaway apparently carried out by somebody other than Nekkid. I'm reserving judgment until the winners announced in the next video acknowledge receiving the watches, but I'm pretty angry with myself for falling for it. I hope none of the other "winners" lost much more than I did.
Reminds me of the watches we relied on during my RCAF days. Takes me back to timing critical maneuvers-quick, precise, and dependable. These captures the spirit of those old aviation tools we trusted in the cockpit! Well done Jason and Dad! )))
I’ve been subscribed for ages. If you’re not subscribed you must be mad, this is the very best watch channel on the entire interweb, family friendly and with added vitamins and minerals. If I could I’d subscribe twice!, or even three times! One each for Joe, trouble and germ with an extra subscription for the accountant.
A creative original design, a real conversation starter. As for the lights, think "Cylons in Battle Star Galactica". Credit needs to be given to Jason and his dad for keeping the watch affordable and thanks for telling their story and reviewing the watch. Subscribed.
Dear watch of wonder, wild and bold, With LED lights and features untold! In black or gray, you dazzle the eyes, More flashy than stars in midnight skies. Designed by a lad and his whimsical dad, A team of explorers-quirky and mad! Your looks scream "Bugatti," your vibes "Night Rider," You’re cooler than Casio, funkier, brighter! Forget the humdrum brands that stray, This watch is electric in every way. A V12 roar or a kitten's meow- No suit cuff can tame your flair somehow! So here's my rhyme, a hopeful shout- Pick me, and I'll proudly wear you out!
These are the watches I envisioned we will wear on the moon or Mars. Being an 80s child where is a small part of nostalgia when I look at them. Good luck to everyone
Quite a relief to see it has a charging cable as initially I thought how long will a battery last. Always nice to see something refreshing style wise, and those super cool lights are another class all together, well for us blokes anyways !
These watches remind me of the old casio calculator watches, I definitely want one! Their form and function are fantastic and unique. They incredibly affordable for what they are. I hope the company sticks around for a long time!!!
It's absolutely mental, I love it. Normally I only go for mechanical watches, but these wormgear driven hands are all the mechanics I need. Plus you get a light. They should have a version with a red light on the hands so it can mimic Knightrider
This might be the coolest watch I’ve seen in a looooog time. Fun fact. The screws that the indicators run on are called lead screws, or ball screws as we called them. They are used in precise CNC machines. There are captured ball bearings in the indicators that ride in the screw channels. I have changed out my fair share throughout the years. I have also had them unscrew a couple of times. What a mess. Anyway, this is an absolute BRILLIANT idea! And a gorgeous watch. Bravo Mr. Jason! Bravo!
When I was 18 years of age I was so enamoured with this new fangle LED watch so I treated myself and bought one. It was cutting edge back then in 1975 and I was proud as punch. Press one button, the only button, and it would illuminate the time with big red numbers. I was wearing it when I was struck by a car not watching what she was doing and i ended up in hospital for three months with a lot of fractures. My dad came to see me and showed me the watch and the time had stopped precisely at the time of my accident. Needless to say, that was the end of my pride and joy. Now here I am at 67 and near the end of life journey and that new MECEXP watch would suit an older fella like me. It reminds a little bit of the last box I would ever own before being mercilessly incinerated. I will wear it with pride and it will live on when my oldest son will inherit it. Cheers.
Ah... I squirmed in delight at your wording. 'Light' did NOT follow 'LED'. (nor was it spelled 'led') "... in hospital." was not preceded with the word 'the'. GIVE THIS MAN THE COCONUT!
Who wouldn’t want to wear the equivalent of an ankle monitor on their wrist? Cool looking watch! Thank you for the doing the give away and for the opportunity to win. Love the channel and especially your positive messages that you include at the end of your videos!
I absolutely love the Merlin Engine look of these things. Simultaneously a kooky downtime piece and impressive looking piece of engineering. And remarkably practical for telling the time, which is not always the case with these imaginative designs.
Thats all i ever wanted. A watch that isnt just the ordinary, but still looks modern. I really like the combination of electronics and mechanical moving parts
Hey, dude. Have you ever looked into a Nixie, digital, wood, binary, roller meter or drum roller, jump hour, or wrist computer, just to name a few. 😂 Let us know what you found. Would be very interested.
Very likeable watches, exactly as you have said, for the people who do not have a problem to leave zone of their comfort. They have a hint of UHRWERK uniqueness.
I can not speak for anyone else but with your knowledge of watches you would make a great watch, I just know it! I have watched most of your videos and I always enjoy Listening to you as you recondition the watches. You do not realize it but you have a friend in Buckingham Virginia and this friend enjoys watching and hearing your voice as you repair these ticking time keepers!! I would love to be the first one in line to purchases a watch from you! Take care and best of luck if you ever do come out with your own line of watches! Much love and prayers to you and your family!!
These watches truly defy the ordinary! Jason and his dad’s ‘Mechanical Exploration’ brand brings back the nostalgic vibe of the ‘80s with LED lights and a unique V12 engine-inspired design. Far from the simplicity of typical fashion brands, this is a fun and quality choice for anyone wanting something original. Huge kudos to Jason for bringing his dad's dream to life-these bold watch designs are a thrill to see!
That looks like the mechanism used to move the optical pickup head in a CD or DVD drive. I was idly thinking you could make a watch using those a while back - it's nice to see that someone has actually done it.
This video was incredibly insightful and visually stunning! The explanations were crystal clear, and the way you break down complex topics makes it so easy to follow along. I’ve watched many similar videos, but this one really stands out-it's professional yet accessible. The camera work and editing are top-notch, creating such an immersive experience. Thank you for sharing this valuable content with us! Winning a Mecexp watch would be the perfect reminder of this channel's excellence and the great knowledge it shares!
love the design, i always was out for a different looking casio back in my childhood, specially for the functions like a heartbeat or IR sensor. love it when the price actually matches what you get instead of a brand name tax.
A long journey with you. I remembered a lot of videos from you that came out at moments I wasn't very well mentally and it always was nice to join you in your watch fixing and learning UA-cam world. Go on mate and keep on taking us with you.
This is a really neat watch. I really appreciate when companies buck all the normal trends and do something very different. I would absolutely buy this watch if I had the means to. What a wonderful conversation piece this would be. Thank you for sharing this Joe!
I think what you do to restore all them fantastic watches that you have in stock is just brilliant, and you always give excellent explanation to how each watch come about to be in existence, and thanks for the opportunity to enter the competition.
Very Fun! My son would love this watch. He is just getting into wearing them, watching him decide on the three watches he has every morning to go with his outfit is priceless. I’m glad I got him into collecting. I love your channel and witty humor, keep the videos coming. ❤
Following watching this video I've purchased one for myself and my dad loves it so if I win one it will be a gift for him. Love watching you and really enjoy everything about your attitude and presentation I also share and enjoy your sense of humour
Amazing Watches. I've Never Seen Anything Like Them. The Titanium One Looks Super Futuristic And I Like The Way The Light Reflects Off The Edges Of The Crystals. Super Cool. Great Video. Many Thanks.👍👍.

I still wear my 1980s Casio. Just a battery and a new strap every few years. The light no longer works and time adjustment difficult as I have lost a spring under one of the buttons. It is no longer within several seconds a month, but it is still running. The alarm is hard to hear, but that is related to my old ears. One of the best investments ever made. 😊😊😊😊
I'm subscribed!! Have been for ages. Hope that counts. I love these watches, and they really kind of suit me as my hobby is repairing old mechanical tech, like ancient calculators and stuff like that. Very cool watches. You are right, the light makes it!!
These are very cool watches! I really like that they have an LED built in. I know what you mean about the '80s. My uncle was an electrical engineer, and I remember him having a Seiko LCD watch back in the late '70s, when such things were very expensive. As a kid from the 70's this really appeals to me, growing up through videogames like bioshock, I can picture this in a game like that, I would love to wear it as it is something that appeals to me I like the non standard things. keep up the fantastic work Joe love a video from you it makes my day
It looks a lot better than those million dollar watches. The black one looks beautiful and it's something unlike anything I've ever seen. Love the contrasting details in the band too with the yellow.
That reminds me of the head shuttle mech of an old disk drive. Run by stepper motors. Now, if someone could do that with a mechanical automatic movement, that really would be impressive. Certainly a talking point at a dinner party. A very different looking watch. Cool. 👍🏻🇬🇧
I see you’ve upgraded from a cut off sleeve..AKA sacrificial, limb😉 from an old dress shirt for wrist shots! To a full sport blazer 🎉 kudos mate cheers. thank you for sharing this awesome timepiece.
very interesting watches. I am passionate about watches but my passion could not be carried to the end. I mean, I wanted to learn to repair watches, especially mechanical ones, but I found that I needed to have a substantial amount of money to do this (school, watch repair tools). I follow you with pleasure and I learned a lot from you.
Joe I’ve always so happy to see a new video from you and Trouble. Turns out this one was not a repair. Not surprised you would give some exposure to an interesting watch. Love your channel. Peace to you and Trouble.
that is cool! at first i thought it was fully mechanical because of the worm gears and i was waiting for a tear down but as the video went on it became cooler and cooler with the lights and features! just like you said in the video it also reminds me of a v12 engine! really cool watch and great review! i hope you do more of these kinds of videos to promote watch makers! :)
Great to see out of the box thinking. You mentioned a few big names that have similar models but cost big bucks. It looks like a quality product that is fun to wear and a huge conversation starter. Nice review.
It's true how watch companies chanrge you so much money with cheap movements I had a tag heuer stopped working so I changed the movements which was not expensive keep up the good work
Being a kid from the 80s these watches just hit that soft spot of Sci-Fi / mechanical wonder we used to have. Thanks for the review @Nekkid they look amazing on "trouble's" wrist. Also thank you for keeping you content so fun, wholesome and fighting the good fight. Much love 🤗
Love seeing a dad and his son working together and build the things they like themselfs! That’s the way interesting things (watch in this case) are born. I love them ❤❤
Very nice Techno-time. As an older Gent I don't wear my watches as much as I used to. Some of them are smaller form factor and my old eyes can't see the tiny details they used to. But this watch looks like I might actually be able to tell the time on. Good Luck to the Dad & Lad!
Sweet design and a nice little mechanism. I am impressed they could keep the little thing powered for over a month with how power hungry motors tend to be.
The light fantastic! Just the watch for a non-watch person, someone who wants man-jewellery with an actual reason to its existence. The mechanically efficient spiral drive with mechanical pointers, lit by tiny hidden LEDs, makes for something that crosses the divide between analogue and digital, are rare confection indeed. All that, and I love it for purely emotional reasons too. I hope it won't be too much 'Trouble' to include me in your random prize-draw even though I've been following you both for a while now.
These futuristic and innovative watches are truly one of a kind! Thank you for this video.

Not fair. I can't do poetry.
I do like your poem though 👍🏻🇬🇧
These watches are simply the coolest. Reminds me of the 80's and I do miss the 80's!
Kudos to Dad & Lad for thinking outside the box with this design. I like it!
These are the watches I envisioned we will wear on the moon or Mars. Being an 80s child where is a small part of nostalgia when I look at them. Good luck to everyone
Ha, this made me think of total recall, I could totally have seen Quaid wearing this watch...
Quite a relief to see it has a charging cable as initially I thought how long will a battery last. Always nice to see something refreshing style wise, and those super cool lights are another class all together, well for us blokes anyways !

It sounds like you need to extend your life by buying a dozen more watches.
When your LED watch stopped, the impact must have cracked the quartz timing crystal inside (really unusual fault). Amazing story 👍🏻🇬🇧

@Norfolk250 Oh, please forgive me and my grammar as we are both Australian.

You misread... I said 'delight', as you worded it properly -- opposed to how too-many others who do not.
Now that is the coolest watch I've seen in a long "TIME" (heehee). I love it!!! Been subscribed for a long time by the way. Cheers

Do we need to comment to enter? Guess here's my comment. 😐
Great, so cute to see your son with both watches on his wrist. Interresting watch, fun.
That's not Knight Rider, that's Battle Star Galactica! Starbuck would wear that watch with pride! Cylon's would be so jealous...
I'm happy in not the only one that loved that show.....
@@screwthecabal6453 The original or the newer one? ❤them both
Surely more buck Rogers, but BSG is a great shout

The Titanium One Looks Super Futuristic And I Like The Way The Light Reflects Off The Edges Of The Crystals.
Super Cool.
Great Video.

I love it! reminds me of the clock I had as a kid that flipped number plates.
Only word I can think of that describes the watch.....Bonkers! It would definitely stand out when worn.
Unique, I like the look. Retro and futuristic. Cheers
As a studying Aerospace Engineer, this has gotta be the most on-brand watch I could ever wear in this price bracket. This thing is cool.
What a novel and off the wall way to display time keeping.
Who would have thought of utilizing a unique screw drive mechanism.
Kudos.
love the review and posing. it looks cool and i can hardly wait to see hwat they come up with next!
Nice watch and very unique. It seems to hava true 80’s vibe. I agree you should creatures and watch set for sons and dads and maybe call it Lads and Dads.

@AmNekkid-t7s Just about
I still wear my 1980s Casio. Just a battery and a new strap every few years. The light no longer works and time adjustment difficult as I have lost a spring under one of the buttons. It is no longer within several seconds a month, but it is still running. The alarm is hard to hear, but that is related to my old ears. One of the best investments ever made. 😊😊😊😊
Truly amazing! A completely new mechanism is not to be sneezed at. Design and execution looks excellent.
The fact that it could do so many things and look so cool just blew my teenage mind. Thanks for the giveaway!
Nice watches. Extremely innovating system. Completly out of the box. I wouln't mind wearing one... 😁
Thanks
I legitimately love the design of this watch. I really wish it wasn't battery operated, but dang does it look cool
Love the contrasting details in the band too with the yellow.
everything you need from a watch and a unique movement. no fuss easy to read , stylish timepiece. i would be more than happy to have one on my wrist.
That reminds me of the head shuttle mech of an old disk drive. Run by stepper motors.
Now, if someone could do that with a mechanical automatic movement, that really would be impressive.
Certainly a talking point at a dinner party. A very different looking watch.
Cool. 👍🏻🇬🇧

Cool for a week end the the dresser drawer till in the round file ho hum!
I would proudly wear one of them...amazing looking watches
Great review of the Mecexp watches!, the titanium one is fab!, love the long screw mechanism, it so steam punk!.
nice watch - reminds me of those binary LED watches from the late 90's in function and a (was it) tag monoco v4 concept - well tidy
It's true how watch companies chanrge you so much money with cheap movements I had a tag heuer stopped working so I changed the movements which was not expensive keep up the good work
These look awesome! My boy would absolutely love these. The black one's my fave
I'm that person who doesn't like a square watch with an analogue dial. But I can definitely get behind this kind of analogue style.
Much love
🤗
Love seeing a dad and his son working together and build the things they like themselfs! That’s the way interesting things (watch in this case) are born. I love them ❤❤
I've been subscribed for years and always look forward to another video. The MEXCEP is a loud, big watch which is the kind I love :)
This is one of the few funky design watches that is actually legible, nice.
What a beautiful design! It's so nice to see an innovative designer bringing new thinking into a market with so much nascent potential!
This is a crazy looking watch. I'd wear this when heading out to any motorsport event, maybe next year's F1 season
Have been a subscriber for a while. Love these watches. Any square watch that is different always gets my attention. Love them both.
Wow that looks amazing 🤩 I’m not a quartz guy but that backlight is awesome ❤ and I like the way it moves.
Very nice Techno-time. As an older Gent I don't wear my watches as much as I used to. Some of them are smaller form factor and my old eyes can't see the tiny details they used to. But this watch looks like I might actually be able to tell the time on. Good Luck to the Dad & Lad!
Viewed on it’s side, it looks like an old radio, with the AM and PM frequency bars. The crown I guess is the dial for tuning. Very retro!
These are wicked! Thanks for highlighting them!
Those leadscrews reminds me of my first attempt to make cnc machine out of old cd-roms. Best days of my life. Love it xD
I really like the titanium one, reminds me of a deloreon. Hopefully I’m not outatime for the giveaway.
