The trees are defined as being a psychic focus object, similar to the Anima tree for tribals, but with the category of Void. Maybe you can do Harrowgate's ritual there?
Edit: Turns out that wasn't it. You need to research rituals at the monolith, which will unlock the ritual circle you can place.

Harrowgate will bring something bad to your colony, that event gave you a great pawn in exchange for a bad event which could be illness or betrayal.
Is that or the unnatural healing giving you tentacles for arms is the bad thing.

if you can help it try to avoid shooting fights in the rain and fog makes hitting a lot harder but great for melee fighters if they want to be harder to hit 😀
