I am a New Bern citizen and lived on Middle Street just 2 blocks North of the Pepsi pharmacy for years. Thanks for highlighting my lovely hometown. My family was part of the Swiss German og colonists that settled here as well.
I lived in New Bern when soda machines were still a nickel, movies were a quarter for the matinee. The school had two buildings, one from 1806 and and the newer one built in 1886. Thanks for another good video.
That into killed me.... thank you Carpet Bagger...... oh boy, Scott nailed that for a side swipe....I too love pepsi... the black cherry sounds great.. never seen that in the Uk... we do have raspberry though which is pretty good.

Yes, Yes, Yes! When I was in my 40's, I was Senator of Arts and Sciences at Isothermal Community College, and our Student Government went to New Bern...,right before I moved to Cullowhee and went to Western Carolina University. We represented some of the Best of Community Colleges. Oh, it was beautiful and very interesting. Absolutely gorgeous place. This entire experience in my own life spanned from 2007-''pert near'' NOW. My own hotel room overlooked a marina, which was just so beautiful. As a Mountain Girl, I always love the State of NC.
One thing that I have found is that NC seems to be a birthplace of many soft drinks, or as we always called it...''Soda Pops''. I just always thank our Creator for our Beautiful State and everything that it offers, in what seems like two totally different climates and settings in Nature.
Love this!!! I lived in New Bern for 12 years, recently moved back to PA. I still visit often, and always stop in the Pepsi place when downtown. This video just made me happy!! Side note: I lived down there when Moore’s BBQ made their world’s largest BBQ and partaked in some…very yummy!
I love Moore’s And I think they have a brand new restaurant now. My girlfriend and I are coming back to look at homes in New Bern. We are trying to escape California. New Bern seems like the perfect town to retire.
Getting married in New Bern this year at the old Maola building on the river, and we have been to the Pepsi store many times. Some of our engagement pictures are taken in the store! This was awesome to watch Adam, thanks for posting.
Don’t forget about Michael J. Fox, Adam! He had a Pepsi commercial back in the day, remember? He rolled up the picture of the Pepsi can and drank from it. Classic! Great video as always!
Lived in the town and loved every minute. A lot of history and wonderful people. Wonderful downtown charm and during the holidays one of the most beautiful towns ever to live in and come to visit. Time for another visit in the summer. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for all of these videos Adam! I'm not able to travel but I would love to some day when I have more vacation saved up. This has helped me feel like I'm traveling anyway and really sets off my day in a positive way. 😁
I will forever miss your Disney content BUT- absolutely LOVE what you’re doing here!! So very interesting… love the info u gather and the “fun” u include! Also- loving the “colab’s” with other creators. So much fun!
I'm more of a Pepsi drinker than a Coca-Cola drinker. I never knew where Pepsi was made so this is cool 😎 to see. I like Wild Cherry 🍒 Pepsi too. I never heard of Black Cherry Pepsi before but, it sounds good. I never liked Mountain Dew because of the color of it. It looks like it's already been drank. Michael J. Fox, Jeff Gordon and Cindy Crawford also promoted Pepsi.
The black cherry Pepsi is a new flavor that just came out a few months ago. It was released at the same time as cream soda Pepsi. Hearing Adam say black cherry Pepsi tastes like medicine makes me glad I never tried it.
This reminds me of a trip I took with my son, we got ready to go out for the day and I had on a Pepsi shirt, he told me I couldn't wear it. When I asked why he said look at me, he was wearing a Coke shirt. LOL. Thanks for the vlog and help me bring back memories.
We've lived in New Bern for 27 years. Your opening shot looks like you were at Union Point. Unfortunately, the cities alderman are planning to allow Union Point to be sold to build another hotel. Recently, there have been protests about this issue. New Bern is the home of the original capital, Tryon Palace. If you watch the series Outlander, you probably have heard of Tryon Palace. The show Sleepy Hollow did some filming in the area of Tryon Palace. Mitchell's Hardware is another interesting local, family owned business. And let's not forget the underground railroad.
@Hall About Family Yup! It would be a shame to lose such a beautiful park with its view and all the activities that are held there. The park is within walking distance for locals and tourists. But you already knew that. However, we need to watch the situation carefully to find out what their "real" objective is. I believe Union Point was more of a distraction, and they were willing to lose the battle to win their true goal. Although I hope that is wrong.
My last comment failed. That gentleman you were talking to about the history of New Bern, that was Tommy Moore! My husband went to school with his son. You were talking to a local celeb with history in NC BBQ! Glad to see you over here on the east coast and hope you get to explore more of North Carolina. Too many great eats to name in a UA-cam comment but we are sure you will discover them all.
@@irishpixierose I agree with you 100%. The original location was so-much-better. The new chains are hit/miss and not very good. When we are in Greenville, we try to pick up Parker's now because they are at least consistent.
Wish I knew y’all were here! That is only 15-20 mins away from me! Come back during October they have a big festival and it’s awesome! The whole month of December they have stuff as well! The small town of New Bern is what brought us to North Carolina from Maryland.
As a teenager I was absolutely addicted to Mt.dew. Loved the sign , ya-hoo mountain dew, it will Tickle yer inners. New Bern is a beautiful city. But then again from Hilton Head to the outer banks all of Coastal Carolina is beautiful. Keep the camera rolling your videos are awesome.
My wife and I watch you all the time. I know you said you were going back to Florida sometime in February. On your way back you need to stop off at Mcleod Farms in Mcbee SC. This is right up your alley they have old coke signs to old cars and trucks old tractors get you some apples. Its a farm or road side attraction.
New Bern resident here. Transplanted in 2001 by the Marine Corps. Tried to leave twice. The quaint downtown area with all its history kept drawing me back. Now I just call it home. I love the fact that something so popular came from a little hole in the wall town.

However, they were in that location for years and years before they moved. Thanks for the memories! Cliff

Hats off to Mr Bradham! I'm a die-hard Pepsi girl (don't shoot me Coke people) ... also love Dr. Pepper, 7Up, Mt. Dew. Coke is harsh, Pepsi goes down a little smoother and tastes so much better. Thanks guys for the tour of the town and the store👍

Once I started drinking Pepsi at a local pizza place, I realized I actually preferred the smoother flavor as Coke has that bite. Wild Cherry Pepsi is the best cola drink out there.
I really loved this video, Adam. It is such great fun to have Scott along. I am a recovering Diet Pepsi addict so it's especially interesting to me.
