  • How To Change Honda CR-V Wiper Blades
    I found it cheaper to replace the rubber inserts rather then replacing the complete blade. Each rubber insert cost me roughly $7. Call the Honda parts department to inquire the price before heading there because some sell it cheaper then others.

    I just did it! I am a middle-aged single female (very unlikely target audience :), never done any DIY's on cars before but I was able to change windshield wipers with your video this morning. With my work schedule, I just didn't have time to take my CRV (2014) to a shop just for windshield wiper replacement but, with recent increment weather, I knew working wipers were important for safety. So I ordered OEM parts from an online store and followed your instructions step by step. I am so thankful for your instructions and very proud of myself! I usually don't write anything online but this occasion will have to an exception. :) You may be an awkward hamster but you are a good mechanic!

    Perfect! Bought the inserts, but couldn't figure out how to replace. Video is still super useful, all these years later! THANKS!

    I have been wanting new refills for months, but I am too cheap to pay the dealer. Finally I bought the refills saying, "How hard could it be?" I took one look and recognized that I did not know where to begin. I headed for UA-cam and found you. Bless you, I did it. Great instructions!

    Just did exactly this on my 2015 Honda CRV. You saved me about $75 in labor. (Rubber inserts from Honda dealer were ~$12 each; total $38 for all three w/tax) Perfect instructions. Worked like a champ. Greatly appreciate you filming this.

    I've used this tutorial two or three times now (I don't change the inserts as frequently as you recommend -- so I always forget how to do it in the interim and need a refresher) on my 2014 Honda CR-V. Works every time!! Thanks so much for giving the part #s and for such a thorough, step-by-step video. You're more like AwesomeHamster! Thanks again! :)

    Thanks. On my truck I have always replaced the entire wiper. This was so much cheaper on my CRV. Three OEM inserts cost me about $22 at the dealer. Glad I found your video. 👍🏻

    So glad I found this. Everyone else is replacing their blades with aftermarket which changes the frame profile. Excellent video making the wiper refill process so easy. Only cost me about $17 for all 3 blades. Fronts were super easy as long as you keep track of the wiper blade orientation. Mine was a 2010 CRV and your instructions for the front applied just as well. My rear wiper blade was completely different and a pain. Thanks for doing this!

    Perfect instruction!! If this were E-Bay, I'd rate it A++++. Great image close up to verify that these are, in fact, my same wipers. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together. Total front/back wiper change for under $14.00. I never could understand why the parts houses started pulling refills off the shelves... and the wiper manufacturers playing the refills down. I guess there is just not enough profit in selling rubber - they need to make more money selling the complete wiper blades..

    Thank you for posting this video!! Mine was not that easy to pull out. I had to use the needle nose pliers to assist in the pull. All in all, it took me 15 -17 minutes total to do both wipers after watching your video. That's including getting the needle nose pliers from the kitchen. Thanks again!

    Great video. Thank you so much for step by step procedure. As someone already mentioned, be very careful with the wiper arm. Be sure to gently lower if after removing the blades. Just in case pushing does not work to remove the inserts, pull them. I had to pull it for both driver and passenger wipers.

    You need to pisition the camera on what you are doing. The part i actually wanted to see which was attaching the wiper to the arm. the camera was pointed at the bottom of the wiper blade. You said, see, i could not because your camera was not on what you were doing.

    BIG MISTAKE in this video!
    Make SURE you place a very thick towel or other item to protect the windshield. If that spring-loaded wiper arm pops against the windshield, replacing the wiper blade won't be your biggest problem!

      Installation steps are identical. But ask them to check the part number when purchasing the blade inserts.

    • @intelicron4523
      @intelicron4523 4 роки тому

      @@AwkwardHamster Yes, I just did this on my 2011 and it was identical so it probably applies to all 2007-2011 Third Generation CR-V's. On mine there is a directional arrow with the word "Set" engraved on the wiper arm which apparently shows the direction to slide the new insert on. One would push it in the opposite direction to remove the insert. Thanks for this great video!
