I kinda like it that way, you can have an artistocratic vibe without acting like it. It recognizes the past without celebrating it (then again finnish history had barely any controversy to it, so who say you can't celebrate it).

as a finn i currently see russia as a good neighbour and dont want fight.. also i dont think finland is that developed.. many big cities with millions of people have propably more sophisticated infrastructure like dubai..

I'm Syrian and knew where Finland was when I was in middle school. No internet and mobiles then. Only a couple of tv channels. I loved geography. I used to be excited to watch sports news in order to draw flags. Eventually I had about 100 flags in my notebook. Good old times!

Yeah well the americans have always either been isolationist (before WW2) or a dominant world power (after) so there hasn't been much in the ways of needing to care much for the rest of the world. You'd have the same problem in Syria if you were a dominant world power, there would be no cultural incentive to have the common folk need to know anything about the rest of the world.

I've always watched Conan O'Brien since the '90s primarily to learn geography; having the occasional comedy is an added bonus.

This was a huge ytmnd fad back in 2006. Hell, Conan was one of the biggest goddamn stars of that site in general. He even got his bike stolen by Charlie Murphy. But most notably he was an alligator.
All these fascinating people Conan has met over the years is astounding! Both everyday original folks to presidents and would-be space aliens. I bet he would not trade those experiences for anything.
