You are already important enough, my dear. ❤ wear it whereever you would like, don't wait for the "right occasion" to wear it. You will create your own important events by wearing it with love and joy. ❤
@@sempi8159i mean it would take years to get to the skill level frieda is at. Not to mention the amount you would spend on fabric to practice. And then buying patterns and other sewing supplies. Then the time it would take to make something like that. It would be more achievable to just save up some money and then find an occasion to wear it.
For someone who claims they have no curves, that style of skirt is awfully flattering! I may have to see if that style works on my lack of curves too! "Use the bulk of the pleats to fake having hips" is a trick I've used before with a wide curved waistband on a pleated skirt of heavy fabric, but dear gods did you ever do it better than I did! And I love how you can just quickly whip out a set of stays, I'm still in the mockup stage with mine. The balloon thing worked really well! I'm glad I got to see how it's done.
You are so right, the smoothness of the bodice with the abundant pleats is everything. Loved how you built the heavy pleats before attaching. Adorable dress…will now be hunting for cotton velvet. Thank you!
The period inspired corset in combination with the pleats which reminds me of neck ruffs and very structured historical skirts is absolute perfection! The beads really added something magical and the bodice is so so satisfyingly smooth. Truly a testament to your skill. It’s a beautiful dress ❄️
No-o way! This is so beautiful! Not only the shape (the flattering, Vivenne Westwood-ish-but-better shape), but the craftsmanship- Ohh, I'm so excited I literally bounce on place. And the velvet... This is really another level of preciseness and experience. I think I'm in love
How elegant! You are so skillful and creative. This is such a lovely piece. It's deceptively simple and impeccably crafted. It LOOKS like a dress made of soft, fluffy snow.
Just, stunning! Would make a fabulous wedding dress, and would look so cute, with bloomer's just short of the length of the dress. To get more poof at the bottom, you need your lining shorter than your skirt.(I must of made 100 puffball skirts at Fashion College, in the late 80's lol) I do the same when doing puff sleeves lol Also try a gathered, layer of net between your fabric and lining.
I immediately recognized the beaded scraps from the commissioned dress you did! It's so wonderful that you could make another dress with them ❤ it really reminds me of a ballet dress either for swan lake or the dance of the sugar plum fairy ❤❤
you inspire me so much 🥹 i’ve been sewing for years, but i always seem to rush everything. watching your videos has made me slow down and enjoy the whole process more 🧡
Lovely--beautiful work! reminds me of a ballet costume I got to wear as a kid--it was a pale-pink velvet, with red velvet bows, for the "bonbons" number in The Nutcracker. One of my favorite costumes ever! Enjoy your saunter through the winter wonderland!
I love everything you make. For this dress, the bubbles would have been rounder and fluffier if you used bunched netting at the bottom, between the lining and the velvet. But then, with so much cotton velvet used for the skirt, which is heavier, it might not work. Please keep on creating beautiful things.
It was mesmerizing to watch you create this exquisitely beautiful winter wonderland dress! Your collaboration with Rachel Maksy was how I learned about your channel. The dress you created for her was gorgeous. I enjoyed the video so much, I think I’ll watch it again. Thank you, Frieda.
An absolutely beautiful dress. It gives you the curves you say you don't have and makes your legs look miles long. It would be a wonderful, more informal, winter wedding dress! 🩵
I've been watching all your videos for a while now. Your construction is unparalleled and the designs are showstoppers. Might sound weird but I invested in the same iron as you because your seams always look so crispy, and I needed a new one because i would spend 30 mins ironing some bias binding... Love your work, can't wait to see what you make in the future.
I love this so much. The smoothness of the velvet and the little glitter from the glass beads. It’s just sooo pretty. You should wear it on Christmas. Question: what is that technique of pleating called?
Your construction is so polished and beautiful that it makes me excited to get back into sewing. Are you able to share where or how you learned your technique?
I really love the work you do! You are so talented! All of your dresses look so magical and I learn so much from seeing part of the process of making a dress like this. My eyes light up every time they see a video of your work. 💖
This construction reminds me of the construction described to create look #10, Schiaparelli Haute Houture F/W 2024. I can't remember exactly how it was described, but essentially a layer of lambs wool batting was applied over the entire corset/bustier and then covered with the final layer of satin. This created that smooth, boneless appearance of the dress, and visually complimenting the construction of the shoe seen on the back of the dress. In some photos of the dress in mid construction, you can see the top layer of satin has been pulled tightly across all dimensions and pinned to the edge/underside of the corset bustier before finalising its position with stitches.
This dress is so cute, I love the result, the velvet fabric and the fluff of the stays are so nice. It's putting me in the good mood for winter season !
Beautiful project! Your videos are alway so soothing! Also: I love your Sendung mit der Maus Sweater! So einen hätte ich auch gerne, ich wusste nicht, dass es da so coolen Merch gibt! 🙂
I wish I had more money because earlier cat of cats costumery had a 50% off code for a chair and now you have one for the table and that would make my whole office look and perform so amazingly!
Hi, After having seen the North Star gown and now this dress combined with the fact that I don't know one thing about you except that you make beautiful things. This dress reminds me of a tutu for some ballet. Maybe if you don't make them already, you should? Yours, Ann

My dream is to be wealthy enough to commission a dress from you and important enough to have somewhere to wear it. This is so beautiful.
You are already important enough, my dear. ❤ wear it whereever you would like, don't wait for the "right occasion" to wear it. You will create your own important events by wearing it with love and joy. ❤
Why not learn sewing?

@catrice1296 having a hobby making beautiful things is infinitely more rewarding than a one time dress purchase.
I feel the same way “It will be a short dress, but REALLY want to use this fabric,” is a phrase I use often. 😂😂❤
I hope you get to attend a holiday party in that beautiful dress. It's delicate, ethereal, and deserves to be seen!
21:17 wow you look georgous in this dress like it’s actually breathtaking I forgot to breath irl I’m not joking 😭
My immediate thought was Degas' Little Dancer of Fourteen Years. Not the same exact silhouette, but the general shape... it's gorgeous!
This dress is so charming! The pleats are so satisfying. I love how soft the whole thing is. I’m so glad it turned out how you wanted!

You look like a ballerina, from the Nutcracker! How lovely.

I started off so worried about the bulkiness of the pleats but my god, it turned out amazing!!! Stunning work!!
This is the pratest thing I had ever seen ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful! It looks like the Nutcracker! ❄️
Speechless. I think everyone's ears perked up when we heard the word "comission". Such a treat to see into your process. Thank you 🙏
Zip ties for boning: BRILLIANT!
It's beautiful. I admire how lightly you use beads -- just enough to highlight, and in organic shapes.
Beautiful. It sort of reminds me of the snowflake faires from Fantasia.
The way how clean the bodice is, I'M OBSESSED!!!
as a fashion designer myself this is the most cleanest and the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen
This dress is so perfect. Such a contrast between the bodice and the skirt, yet they work together beautifully.
This would mke such a cute ballet costume🥰😍🤩
Despite the velvet it looks so delicate. I love it! Thank you for sharing 😊
Love the smooth bodice! This reminds me so much of a snow fairy or ballerina! So beautiful and delightful!❤
I loved this dress. Never seen cartridge pleats done with velvet before and the method you used to attach them to the bodice looks flawless
I look forward to watching you films because not only are the garments lovely, they exquisitely made. Also, your voice very soothing.
No-o way! This is so beautiful! Not only the shape (the flattering, Vivenne Westwood-ish-but-better shape), but the craftsmanship- Ohh, I'm so excited I literally bounce on place. And the velvet...

I'm in love with the folding technique u used on the skirt, breathtaking

This was so satisfying to watch, and made me want to immediately go and sew a dress! (Haven't sewn anything in months!)
You're smile at the end says everything. The dress is astonishing.

It’s a vanilla ice cream dress ❤ lovely!
