I honestly don't understand why christians disregard these facts. Why take your knowledge from such an unpreserved book. Stop trying to make sense of the contradictions and making up beliefs as you go along.
It don’t see how these facts affect Christian belief. The apostolic churches don’t believe that the Christianity is Bible alone. That is a Protestant doctrine which came later. The Church fathers never accepted the Gnostic gospels nor quoted them. Book of Barnabas is a actual orthodox book just was not included in the canon. The apostolic tradition is based on the bishops that were ordained and have a lineage to Christ.
The canon was selected by the early liturgy and Church father usage and the lexicons of the early church. The book of thomas and the book of peter where not handed down by the church. They are gnostic sects books which os why they were rejected.
Islam for example has completely different canons. The Shia and the Sunni have two different traditions. The bible is a compilation of 76 books the Quran is 1 book. Islam has two traditions that trace back to Muhammad that conflict against each other. As the Hadiths of the Sunni and Shia conflict against each other. So the agreement on one book is nothing special since both Islamic traditions Sunni and Shia cant agree what is the actual canon of the Islam
@@kingdanny1070 Sunni and Shia and any other sec of Islam, no matter how deviated, all follow 1 unchanged, book. The book was not edited, added, deleted or played with in anyway. And it is the literal word of God. The Bible is man-made by unknown people that were *inspired* by God. Once you study the Quran, you understand how ridiculous that sounds (study Islam from Muslims). The only things that might actually be from Jesus (peace be upon Him) are ths things that are also mentioned in the Quran. It's always been one message, from One God, through thousands of messengers.
@@kingdanny1070 Oh and it is impossible to find a contradiction between Quran and Hadith since one is The word of God, and the other is from the messenger of God (same source). Most Hadith are revelation, but just not literal words of God, it is Muhammad's (peace be upon Him) own words but with the general idea of the subject being from God. Allah.

I hope all is well. Just to add onto his statements, the Council of Trent (1545-1563) was in response to the the Reformer movement during that century. It is true that these bishops adopted the wider cannon (39 OT books plus 7 of the original Septuagint books along with the NT books) as their biblical canon, but this was only applied to the Roman Catholic Church. They followed Augustine's criteria for creating their canon, and accepted Jerome's Vulgate bible as their "official" bible. This was the first time a Church officially mandated the use of a single textual witness as well. Notably, the Roman Catholic Church is the only branch of Christianity to view the council of Trent as ecumenical.
The Roman Catholic Church also reaffirmed the above, thus dogmatizing the Acts of that council at the First Vatican Council (1869-1870).
Nothing within these councils had any effect in respect to Protestanism or the Orthodox Church (i.e. Chalecedonian and Non-Chalcedonian).

God saved his soul before they crucified him and then sent His Angels to take his body up to heaven and return his soul to his body (if what Peter said was true, that he arose first and then died). So woe to those who write the scripture with their own hands, then say, This is from Allāh, in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.
The Ecclesiastical Council of Trent (1545-1563) (Latin: Concilium Tridentinum) is one of the general or ecumenical councils. It is usually counted as 19th and lasted from 1545 to 1563 with three terms of office: 1545-1547, 1551-1552 and 1562-1563. It aimed to address the wrongs and abuses within the Catholic Church. It also had to be clarified about various points of faith disputed by the Protestants.[1]
The council was convened in Trent, seat of the Prince-Bishopric of Trent, by Pope Paul III (1545), continued by Julius III (1551) and ratified by Pius IV (1563). It took place this far north in Italy on purpose to allow Calvinist and Lutheran observers to attend.
The focus was on deepening and internalization, the correct formulation of theological views (with emphasis on the absolute authority of the pope) and the determination of attitudes towards the Reformation.
The council aimed to emphasize the role of the Church as a great civilizer and legislator. It formulated the views and dogmas that would henceforth constitute the content of the Catholic faith. To this end, the Church returned to the new spirituality as it had lived since the end of the 15th century in the so-called 'Catholic Reformation' and was expressed, for example, by the great Spanish mystics John of the Cross and Teresa of Ávila in the middle of the 16th century.
Some achievements and decisions of the Council:
Determination of the canon of the Bible, the list of sacred books (= Holy Scripture; Old and New Testament).
Revelation consists only of Sacred Scripture and Church Tradition.
The Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Bible, is declared the standard text of the Holy Scriptures for Roman Catholics.
The truths of faith concerning original sin, salvation, the seven sacraments, transubstantiation, indulgences, veneration of the saints and purgatory are again clarified and confirmed.
Latin is the only liturgical language.
Clerics are prohibited from accumulating church offices, have a residence obligation[2] and must respect celibacy.
Priests must receive better training in seminaries, which must be established in every diocese.
Believers are taught through the catechism and through preaching.
The marriage must be performed in a church before a priest and witnesses after triple proclamation, and then recorded in a marriage register.
A bishop had to have studied theology. This provision made it more difficult for the nobility to help their younger sons find lucrative church jobs.
The decisions of the council were clearly aimed at determining the position of the Roman Catholic Church in relation to the Protestants. This council can therefore be regarded as the heart of the so-called Counter-Reformation. The decisions of this council are still valid in the Roman Catholic Church to this day, although the later councils have shifted the emphasis.
At the council, parts of the Protestant doctrine were characterized as error in 126 theses (canons). For Catholics who deviate from the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and subscribe to these points, the "Anathema Sit" was and still applies. Not all criticisms of the Protestants have been rejected by this council.
The Church - thanks to the Council of Trent - managed to maintain its great moral and intellectual influence in the countries that had remained Catholic. Particularly because of the dogmatic authority that the Church claimed in areas in which the Bible had not explicitly expressed itself, it lost further authority in countries that were committed to the Reformation, as expressed, for example, in the Heidelberg Catechism (1563). After the Second Vatican Council, relations with the Protestants improved, which resulted, among other things, in a mutual recognition of baptism.
Trent is only an athoritative Eucmenical council for Roman-Catholics. Not for Orthodox nor for Protestants. Discribing just and only as an "Eucmenical" council is wrong. Discribing it as an authoritative Roman-Catholic council, is right.

Salam alaykum I would love to see a podcast with dr Ali Atie doing an in-depth breakdown of how the Quran engages with apocrypha and the Talmud. This is a point of emphasis for a lot of new converts including myself sense growing up in a church we are taught all this is false yet the Quran cites it as truth. Especially when it quotes the Talmud. Thank you :)
