  • According to Biblical and Quranic narratives, the flood of Noah was a flood unlike no other. Rain descended in mass from the sky and from the earth and the world was flooded in entirety. It destroyed everything in its path, leaving behind no survivor but a few. But did the Flood really happen or is it simply folklore?
In this podcast, we are joined by Dr. Ali Ataie, professor of comparative religion, to discuss the historical, archeological, testimonial and scientific proofs behind why the flood of Noah existed without a doubt.

@@pavld335 we don’t mean that every religion goes back to monotheism. But that the origin of religion as a general across civilisations is monotheistic. For example, some of the the native indigenous American religions bare striking similarities to Islamic belief. On a side note Christianity does have monotheistic origin because Jesus taught monotheism and essentially preached an updated version of the religion of the Torah for his people. But yes, Christianity itself as it exists today IS polytheistic.

@@pavld335 Jesus peace be upon him was a monotheist
Not all _religions_ go back to polytheism, because some could've simply invented one from scratch
However, old religions, most likely have had monotheistic roots, for example many/most polytheistic religions have a supreme Deity. From the Islamic paradigm, humanity has been receiving guidance from God since the beginning, and Satan has since then tried to make people worship something else besides God, for shirk is the worst of sins. So people started worshipping and putting intermediaries between them and this Supreme Deity.
      Quran 39:3
Unquestionably, for Allah is the pure religion. And those who take protectors besides Him [say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position." Indeed, Allah will judge between them concerning that over which they differ. Indeed, Allah does not guide he who is a liar and [confirmed] disbeliever.
Many strands of Hinduism say that there's only One God, but in multiple forms / god divided himself.
"They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements" (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). "They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti."
      [Yajurveda 40:9]
The Brahma Sutra of Hinduism is:
"Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan"
"There is only one God, not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit."
Some knowledge could be from the prophets or messengers sent to that region, passed down but distorted heavily.
      Quran 16:36
And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut." And among them were those whom Allah guided, and among them were those upon whom error was [deservedly] decreed. So proceed through the earth and observe how was the end of the deniers.
footnote: taghut = False objects of worship.
We find heaven and hell concepts in various civilizations, which aren't that much connected to each other, for ex. (Norse mythology, Greek mythology, etc. ) And other concepts.
Islam isn't perennialist though. (The perennial philosophy, also referred to as perennialism and perennial wisdom, is a perspective in philosophy and spirituality that views all of the world's religious traditions as sharing a single, metaphysical truth or origin from which all esoteric and exoteric knowledge and doctrine has grown.)
The religion of all the prophets and messengers is one, Submission to God alone (Islam).
      Quran 23:51-52
[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing.
And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me."

@@randomcommenter8626 Same with ancient Middle Eastern religions or the amazing teachings of Taoism (e.g., by Lao Tze). As you said, Muslims who read Qur'an should be able to recognize the possibility of Divine origins before Satan managed to steer followers of those religions away from the "straight path to the One, Single Creator of all worlds"
Well explained, thanks brother. God bless you! (بارك الله فيك)

Bros Dr.Ataie and Ahmed, Muslims should worry less today and only re-double our efforts in da'wah to both Muslims and non-Muslims. From the year 2000 to the present, more non- Muslims have positively understood Islam than before. Thank God(Allah) for our vigorous da'wah after 911 and especially those that targeted misperceptions/míconceptions about Islam. Informing non-Muslims that the word Allah simply means God was an astronomical game changer that also benefited Muslims who only used the word Allah for The Creator. The translation of the first part of the Shahada(La ilaha ila Allah) as No god but God was the icing on the cake for Muslims and the last nail in the coffin for Islamophobes. Unfortunately, most Muslims have not warmed up to these new ideas and some are totally opposed to them. For non- Muslim English speaking folks, ít's as clear as daylight. The situation was further marred by plagiarism of "No god but God" by Plagiarist Reza Aslan and Random House(now Penguin Random House) who turned it into an anti-Islamic garbage. Despite their malicious eforts, No god but God(La ilaha ila Allah) will continue to be uttered every time a non- Muslim reverts to Islam till the Day of Judgement. No room for despair, we have NEVER had such an opportunity where all human-beings can with conviction know that God(Allah) is One(as in One in One) for all creation and that He's The One Trinitarian Christians mistakenly call " The Father of Jesus".

Were there remnants of the Injeel at the time of the Prophet Muhammad for example Khadijahs cousin Warraqa was a Christian and recognised the Prophet Muhammad as a true prophet. Also can you do another episode on the Exodus please?
Aisha also said: "The Prophet returned to Khadija while his heart was beating rapidly. She took him to Waraqah bin Naufal who was a Christian convert and used to read the Gospel in Arabic. Waraqah asked (the Prophet), 'What do you see?' When he told him, Waraqah said, 'That is the same angel whom Allah sent to the Prophet Moses. The ubiquity of flood myths in all parts of the world is a testimony FOR the truth of the historical event, which was the global flood of Noah, as told in Genesis.
If you have a group of individuals saved in a big boat, and from those families descend all the tribes and families of the earth since that deluge, then it logically follows that, even as time passes and stories change, you'd see the germs of a common true event that happened in the common ancestors' lives.

A comet hit earth 13000 years creating a world wide. It's undeniable. It does put the mission of Prophet Nuh PBUH at a much earlier date than most scholars believe he lived in and necessitates reconsidering classical prophetic genealogy. As a matter of fact , having 140 000 prophets necessitates considering the birth of Adam and Hawa PBUH as being longer than usually thought.

There is a man called Graham Hancock who had a theory that in 9.000 BC there was a meteorite that hit the area of Greenland, and had a massive impact on the earth, ending the big ice age, waporizing a lot of water, causing it to rain down again at massive amounts, impacting the ecology of the whole world, causing cities on coastlines to go underwater.
He was proven right 20 years later when the crater was found deep under the ice. The age of the crater and the massive climate changes are the same (11.000 years before now). Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson believe that there was a great civilization before that meteor which Aristotales mentions as the Atlantis (story dates to the same era too). Theory is that some people from that civilization, migrated to the are of Gobeklitepe in Turkiye (Mesopotamia), and they had the knowlede of agriculture and architecture, that's why there was a fast shift here from hunting and gathering to agriculture. Human civilization goes way back, thats for sure, and sphinx is dated to much earlier because there is sign of water erosion, which wasn't possible later on.
Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson also believe that the flood of Noah was later, around 5.000 bc, in the area of India I think. (But I don't see why it couldn't be the earlier one)
They think that we shouldn't become arrogant like those ancient civilizations did, which is a good conclusion. But unfortunately, their other conclusion to all this is that we should defend the earth from meteors, and that's not a good conclusion and lesson to get from it. As muslims we know we can't escape death or the day of judgement. And God "stones" the devils on earth when it's out of control, like he did with dinosaurs and ancient human civilizations.

No History! What HE has or hasn't done! Can or can't do! Will or won't do! Using the Quran and the Bible only write down the title, chapter and verse only. No text. No Explanations. No commentaries! Describe GOD? e.g. John ??:??, Sura ??:?? Et al. For more than twenty five years I have asked this question with no response. Why won’t a Muslim respond?

The 15 cubit mentioned in Genesis is so exact that I thought: what if this survived unchanged? But where? At a place where all the land once flooded: if this was a huge valley that flooded and there are no tall mountains around it, than it is possible that if one floated in the middle of it you would see nothing but water ... as if the whole world had drowned (that is because the earth is round!). There is such a place, with a central mountain that could also have flooded by something like 8 meters, and next the water broke through a natural dam, ending the flood. But than this would have been in Egypt, where the water and sediments (!) flowing out of this mega lake near Assioet) resulted in the fan shaped different color that ends in the Qatarra Depression. Check it yourself with the ASTER D.E.M.! So I think it could really have happend because of the 15 cubit ...

Creativity Minority seems to be advocating syncretism of Emperor Akbar and Dara Shikoh. Such Sufi reaching has damaged Islam. How can polytheism of Hinduism and its shirk have anything to do with strict monotheism of Islam?
Hindu Brahma is part of the material universe, a pantheist paradigm, not the concept of God in Islam. They also believe awatars, or the incarnation of god in humans and other objects. It is the complete opposite of Islam. The issue of reincarnation and the caste system based on reincarnation. Of course it is unjust and has created the most unequal and misogynist society.
Problem with Sufism is made manifest by the host and how different it is from Islam in the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (saww).
