Minnale movie is one of the most memorable events in my life too. Im an academic and secured 1st place in the whole college my 2nd year engineering. To honour that, my department head gave half a day off for my entire class to watch Minnale movie. It was an icing on the cake to watch a movie like minnale with all college friends.
Really a nostalgic memory .. I watched this movie with my would be in AVM Rajeswari and then the marriage happened but for some reason we separated but still those memories linger in my mind .. those days between engagement and marriage are a dream .. although I am married again to an angel in the earth , these things come to my mind.. respect my ex wife as a human being and hope she reads this from somewhere from a very happy family ..

It is a feel good movie with wonderful songs by the then debutant Harris Jayaraj. Madhavan was well received by the Tamil audience which didn't happen for Abbas though.

Many people may have watched Minnale, but how many of them watched it in theaters with friends, while bunking their Heat & Mass Transfer or Theory of Machines classes? We the Mech. Engg. guys did it in 2001. That was a different level of experience because Maddy himself was a Mech. student in Minnale, an unforgettable movie. Thanks Ashwin for bringing back those nostalgic memories of our college life.
I have watched both Minnale & RHTDM but I am a huge fan of RHTDM more...I felt it was one of those rare remakes which surpassed the original..this is my personal view of course..I saw RHTDM before I saw Minnale so that could be another reason I liked that more and its one of my favourite soothing of the soul kind of movies. The performances, the songs, the bgm, the dialogues..above all, I feel the relatable storyline and characters did the trick...I mean this kind of things happen to many of us..a lot of stuff shown in it has happened with me and many other guys & girls too..apart from watching the whole movie many times, whenever a reel from the movie pops up on insta or comes in UA-cam shorts, I just have to watch it. What a masterpiece..hats off to the entire team of both versions for making them so iconic!!!😃👏👌👍💯

Most of the college boys in Madras City always used to fight until yearly 2000 and in 90's it was peak even in high school, where guys used to fight outside and on the grounds, and they used to call their area guys if they got beaten, very nostalgic Old Madras days and still remember when Minnale released Board exam prep was going on, but movie was re-released again after one or two, after songs became hit, and i hope that raj tv has stopped telecasting that movie, had same feeling what Ash had😅.
Minnale > alaipayuthey. Coz 1. Music - if you werent around to witness roja moment then minnale was closest experience musically to experience roja moment. Same bewilderement and stunned audience when we heard vaseegara.Harris banged his debut just like arr did with roja. 2. can go on watching it infinite times without getting bored . Rarely i can do with any films, Alaipayuthey on other hand is classic but not eligible for rewatch. 3. Gautam vivek maddy all made us more relatable with the feel and moments in the movie. Absolutely fascinating
