You 100% correct on your comparison of these to masterpiece figures. I collect masterpiece, but I think right now the main hasbro line is knocking it out of the part. Keep up the good work.
I've been tempted to jump into the masterpiece on several occasions. I keep looking at the Seekers in particular - those to me look fantastic! Thanks for watching and for the feedback
@retroandreissue yeah I would say space and the number of figures you can display between the two lines is considerable. With the quality hasbro is putting out recently you might have made the better choice. Also you are much more likely to complete a collection based on seasons of the cartoon let's say, than to complete it in masterpiece.
@@rickarmstrong9089 Yeah, the quality of the figures they do produce is unquestionable but Hasbro's rate of release is obviously faster and the range wider. I'm really wondering what the future holds. If the interest in accuracy continues will we see updated versions in the future - similar to the many versions of prime in Masterpiece. Or like the Star Wars ranges - where classic figures regularly receive tweaks.
Also 86 Sludge is my favorite 86 Dinobot of the bunch. He may have loose joints, but he is massive, with great proportions, and has a great gun accessory.
He's awesome! Looking forward to getting Swoop to finish the team (I'm hoping he's a bit smaller than the other since I think that's in line with the cartoon).
Nice video Ha, favourites are super cars and dinosaurs. I’ve got sludge and slag, (1985ish my mum went berserk when she asked my brother what he wanted for his birthday and he said slag) and didn’t realise just how good they were. Thanks for pointing out.
They really are great. I remember thinking the Slag name was an odd choice even as a 7 year old! And would be very self conscious saying it out loud to a none Transformer friend!
Like you, Sludge is what got me back into collecting again after many years. I just kept looking at him, and posing him, and thinking this is the coolest fn thing!
Definitely - you can do a surprising amount of poses with that dino mode - I think his expression is completely different depending how open/closed his mouth is!
LOL, loved the Wheelie stomp. Hasbro should just buy out NewAge or considering that Hasbro is becoming an IP company, it's inevitable that they'll force the 3rd party producers to get licenses for their releases. IMO, NewAge is something that Hasbro should had outsource their Transformers toy development for G1 releases.
@@valentinvintila4246 Me too. I think Legacy Bulkhead gets too much hate. They should have committed to making him an Animated release rather than a Prime-themed one, because he makes for a great Animated Bulkhead update.
I just Googled him! And realise now I've seen him in stock various places - indeed a very cool looking Transformer and the alt mode would look great next to Hound.
@@retroandreissue i dont know why, but for some reason Legacy Bulkhead and 5-pack Hound are better looking alt modes and robot modes over the G.I. Joe ones
Could agree more about the collect solid figures but not wanting to go overboard with high prices. I think my Favourite is Blaster. Solid Bot mode. Fantastic Altmode too. Great articulation too. Unironically, the ROTB mainline Arcee and wheeljack are really good too. Solid, Botmodes and fantastic Altmodes. Could easily be used as a base to make a solid legacy Deluxe figures in the future if Hasbro wanted to. Especially the Arcee. Really fantastic for the cheap price they are.
@@retroandreissueI may be alone in this but, I feel like Kingdom Rodimus's standalone car mode, without the trailer, nails Hot Rod's vehicle mode BETTER than studio Hot Rod.
Great list.. I’ve come to admire all of these figures you listed. I’m completely satisfied with the Hasbro Generations offerings over the last few years, as opposed to the MP and 3rd party I’ve acquired… i just feel like there’s a solid consistency in quality, engineering, pricing, and transformation involvement that I prefer.
I'm liking it so far but I still get tempted by the Masterpiece. Particularly the G1 Primes and the Seekers they more recently put out. Thanks for watching by the way!
@retroandreissue you should definitely check those out. I say explore all fascets of the hobby that is afforded to you, because you never know what you might be into.
I also missed most of the wfc trilogy as I started collecting just as earthrise was ending but I have tried my damned hardest to get everything that's come after. I do have a few I've tracked down like snapdragon and apeface plus some others. Is that a QC issue on your sunstreaker? Those black dots on the front right fender? Shame when that shit happens. Decent video aswell
I found slag to be way too difficult to transform, the legs gave me nothing but grief. I gave up in the end because I was getting very frustrated with the whole process and would end up breaking him in frustration. Not a great transformation experience.
@@retroandreissue Yeah it was getting the legs to fit into these little hollows and when I did manage to fit them in, the legs were still somehow uneven. The chest with those hinges were a pain also as I just couldn't get his chest to close. I managed to revert him back to robot mode so he will just have to display like that.
@@Nostalgic-mt6lr I talked about how he was one of the best at kneeling in a previous vid - my number one pick in-fact! So robot mode is usually how I display him also
4:30 I am almost sure you left part of the headlights transformation undone! 🙂

I didn't get 86 Hound (don't need to, I love the Siege one), but Legacy Detritus is proof of just how good the mold is.

You’re officially my favourite transformer UA-camr!
You flatter me!
I love Legacy Bulkhead military truck mode
I also love Hound's jeep mode
I know Bulkhead wasn't in G1, but I love his alt mode very much

Are you aware you’ve mistransformed Hot Rod’s front end?
Also, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker were Lamborghinis, not Ferraris.
I appreciate the feedback.

I bet you'd like Hot Rod's alt. mode even more if you transformed it correctly.
yes, how can this possible to miss something like that? 🤨

I don’t get how anyone thinks that Hounds alt mode is acceptable. Bot looks pretty good tho.
You neglected to fold.out Hot Rod's front bumpers

I am disproporrionally anmoyed at Hasbro trying to change Slag's name
IDK if you misstransformed Hot rod in the middle of the thumbnail on a video about alt modes on purpose but if so it's genius
I was gonna say. It slightly irked me but otherwise like the list
Ferrari bros? 😂😂

Yeah it must be - very unfortunate. My Blaster has a splash of paint on his face - darn it!

I did struggle with that at first - it was the little half fold with the arms and chest that tripped me up.

Lamborghini not Ferrari for Sunstreaker and Sideswipe
Are you gonna get the SS86 Optimus prime? They already showed a leaked picture of him a few days ago from TFW2005
I saw that! Will definitely be picking him up (and hoping for a Megatron in SS86 also!)

Correction: Lambo Bros (Because they're Countach worthy material Bots) I nearly had a heart attack, but I understand if you confused them. 😅😅
