Like the wide mouthed 2018 GTC grill - more aggressive!
I don't see it. They both look aggressive, but the front of the SL with those headlights look more aggressive to me.
This deep sound of the GTC is more emotional than that produced by the SL.

The sl 63 has the same engine and power output that the amg GTR has. In other words tha SL 63 might aswell be the new roadster version of the AMG GTR. The GTR being more powerful and faster than the GTC. So I'm not sure what you're talking about.
I am talking about “sound” which can be different in the G63, the E63, the SL63, the GT. No about the engine; it’s the same.
if you owned or had even been near an AMG, you would know that they all have different sounds, even with the same engine. @@jackmarston2515

It isn't. It's so much better than that GTC, what are you talking about? Oh it's the amg gtc, therefore automatically better. Except this new sl is designed by amg as the gtc was, plus it packs the same power as the AMG GTR, which is the fastest amg GT, black series not included. The design of the SL was literally based on that of the GTs.

I’m biased, but the GTc (and GT) roadsters have so much more presence with the super low, wide body, and the extra short drop top.
The back seats on the SL confuse me. Would people with kids buy one?
The seats are meant for laptops, golf clubs, briefcases, that sort of thing. All SL have had a space behind their seats for these, but in this cars case, they added seats for these things. It's not for people.
That said, both cars have the same ground clearance and similar dimensions. The SL design was literally based on the GTs.
I do love the quad exhaust on the SL!
Subscribing. Shocking how right you are about the flimsy plastic column shifter. It's a huge alienating feature that ruins the car for historic SL drivers. Substantial shifter feel matters.
Having driven this car alot lately, that shifter is neither flimsy nor plastic. Kid doesn't know what he's talking about.

The GTC is killer, and it has the better design (probably my favorite car)... but maybe an SL eperformance would still sway me over it.

The sl63 looks way better. That, plus it packs the power of the amg GTR, which the GTC doesnt. Better comparison would have been an SL55 vs the GTC.
The design of the SL was inspired by the AMG GT's, and are just as much designed by amg as the GTs were. Truth be told I'm surprised you never showed the hood emblem on the SL, as it sports the amg affalterbach logo instead of the traditional star like the GTC has.
