    I am so glad you use your experience in feel to stop torque. 50 years ago when I first started mechanizing, the shop would use threaded bolts on brake shoe lining. As a novice the shop owner told me to tighten them all until each broke. Over the years he would break one on purpose to keep that feel... back to the show.. pat

    there is a lot of empty "waisted" space in there, because that is the same box the 300ah battery comes in, which is what I have at home that is going into my camper van. It is so nice for me that the extra 100ah can fit into the same footprint! Oh! and thank you so much for doing the exploration for me, I was so curious, but not brave enough to do what you are doing! I really appreciate this!

      I just ordered the 300 ah one, a 60 amp MPPT charge controller, and a 2000 watt inverter to have emergency solar power in my camper. The last of my disability back pay. I can`t imagine not having emergency power here in a hurricane zone. I have seven 300 watt solar power stations, two 500 watt, and two 700 watt Bluetti EB70s for lights, fans, 12 volt cookers, and a dorm fridge and small chest freezer. The big battery will be for using a tiny Frigidaire window AC to prevent heat stroke if another storm hits my area in August. I hope to upgrade the system for fast charging at some point. I only have 490 watts of glass panels right now and 100 and 120 watt folding ones. Haven`t yet thought about how to connect them.

    I have the same 200 Ah unit purchased in May 22. I am not happy with their support. I'd been having issues and not used the unit much, led lights and so on and I wanted to upgrade to a 400Ah system because of wanting to use a not yet installed Victron 12V multi plus ii 3000. Well they said after three months one cannot add a second battery or expand but have to buy all new units. Mine only had three charge cycles and kept topped with a Victron charger 65 something or other. So rather than being taken to the cleaners I am thinking of building my higher capacity system. thus researching. A cell company said when built one and expand in time whereas when all in one battery we have to consider their configuration and BMS. With proper busbar sequence one can expand the 12V to more capacity while maintaining 12V use 1 BMS. thus, I am going to look into my new (Amperetime says "old") 6 month owned battery (Yeh, where does 5 years fit in?) and if bolted use their cells as part of an all new system expandable and safe. I could be burping but that is the direction. The 100 amp unit WP reviewed is all welded. Mine could be so that could be a crimp in the plan.

    You have to start being watchful.. As some manufacturer are putting TTL chips in the BMS...Once it has run so many cycles. It will never charge the cells again. Even if they are still good...

    • @baneverything5580

      These claim 4000 cycles....and what`s considered a cycle? I thought that was a full charge/discharge?

    Great teardown! I think 10nm is quite a lot for those aluminum terminals. EVE recommends max 8nm, dunno what's the limit of those Ganfeng Cells. And thanks for showing a clear QR code, other people hardly do that. According to that cell's QR it was manufactured in 2021 May (B5), must be new cells, that's great to know.

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  2 роки тому +1

      I still have not found a website to decode the QR code. How did you know the date? Is it just B=2021 and 5 is May?

    • @DSmartLife
      @DSmartLife 2 роки тому +1

      @@bzeug Yes that's right. There is no official guide to decode for Ganfeng Cells. But EVE data sheets have the guide. And most major manufacturers are following the same standard. In your case, I think they skipped day code (0), but I have seen 86Ah Ganfeng Cells have it. Anyways a brief guide is as follows:
      Manufacturer code part:
      0AL: Manufacturer (Usually) eg. 02Y: EVE
      C: Cell
      B: LiFePO4
      Rest are cell model and factory location etc.
      Serial Code part:
      Character#1: 9, A, B, C: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022
      Character#2: 1-9: Jan-Sep; A-C: Oct-Dec
      Character#3: 1-9: Day 1-9; A-V: Day 10-31
      Rest are serial number.
      Works on cells from EVE, Ganfeng, CALb, Gotion, etc.
      CATL cells might have a 3 digit code in the front, e.g. 003B9C... So if we ignore 003 then the decoding should work as above.

      Yes, that is confusing to think about. Maybe do two batteries in series, then the other two, and ....never mind. I have no idea actually. LOL! I just ordered a 300 ah one like this. I hope it lasts. Huge purchase for me but I`m on disability, no transportation, living in a camper in a hurricane zone. I hope to power a tiny window AC enough after these storms to keep the temperature below 90 in my camper. I have 11 solar power stations for lights, fans, WIFI, 12 volt cookers, a dorm fridge, and a small chest freezer. The big battery will really help a lot connected to solar. And now I know I can get inside it if the BMS ever needs replacing.

    Do you have the measurement of the cells and bms? I am looking to make as small of a footprint as possible with this battery.

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  2 роки тому

      I just measured. As you see the battery in the video, from left to right is 16 inches, front to back is 6 inches maybe another 1/8", then bottom to top of terminals is going to need 6 inches to clear all the terminal wiring.

    Thank you for doing this video, I bought the same batteries making the mistake thinking I could run them in series. My 24v Victron inverter wouldn’t charge them in series even though the BMS in the battery never cut-off power. I’m seriously thinking of getting a new BMS for 24v instead of 12v so that I can still use these batteries.

      @@riccochet704 Really, that makes no sense? So you can discharge them and then have to take the series connections apart and re charge each one individually???
      Im currently running 4 of these on a 12v inverter in hopes that I could series them up once I can upgrade to a 48v inverter. All the documentation I have seen on them shows them being able to connect up to 4 in series for 48v, but that would be retarded if you are not able to charge them.

  • @milesabove5259

    There needs to be a new standard for the sizing of these batteries. All of them are just made to fit in lead acid battery size cases.
    They need one size 12v battery and more cells can be added for your voltage or amp requirements.
