There are several areas the uk where the red sandstone the same as found in Australia can be found It was formed millions years ago when the uk had a tropical climate and at this time the British Isles lay at latitude 15º to 30º south of the equator

Unfortunately, I can't give the location away, but there is a book called Gold occurrences Uk . You can buy it off the net, and it gives you the location of where gold has been found in the uk it might help you find a place to take your son gold panning .Good luck, mate

There is some nice gold to be found in Scotland sniping . In england you have no chance unless your extremely lucky

Yes a very difficult location to prospect. Lots of mineralisation in the area and if you locate the right places there a few specks to be had
