GT 1030 is fine for 720p gaming or well-optimized titles like GTA 5 at 1080p.... and best of all used ones weren't mined into oblivion like all of the 4gb AMD cards were during the beginning of the crypto craze
i like this comment im 100 percent new to pc gaming. I want to use the card from this video to play games from the Y2K era like Half Life 2 and Undying. im guessing Ddr4 is ok for this too?
GT 1030 is good for playing older PC games, Esport titles, Indi titles, retro PC games and emulation, as for modern PC games any 2GB Graphics Card is obsolete. be mindful there's a 4G variant of this GPU that has slower memory and it's half as powerful! keep away from that, you have much better options at this price such as an RX 470. if you can get a second hand GT 1030 for around 40 or a new one around 50 it's not a bad purchase, nobody mines on GT 1030 so a second hand will work just as good as a new one. if you want to run MSI Afterburner in CS2 you need to enable 3rd party overlay in the game's options.

I have heard the DDR4 is much slower. Get the GDDR5 version. About $60 on eBay.

No. Only a ryzen 5 5600g is equal to the GT 1030 gddr5. The 2400g Will be similar to a GT 730 gddr5. The i5 8500 is below that performance
