A few month's ago I was at a pizza place and this was playing. I don't know whose idea it was to play this over the loudspeaker, but whoever you are, the one customer who recognized the song greatly appreciated it.
Must have been amazing
I play this at work all the time, glad I'm not alone lol
Out of every song carpenter brut has made i still think this is his most underrated.
It is
This song in my opinion is still the most underrated song by carpenter brut. I feel most people don't have enough patience to sit through the long build up to get to the truly one of a kind, most amazing and honestly euphoric climax that I've ever heard. I've been listening to brut for years and this is still one of my favorites.
For real, the ending is pure ecstasy, one of the greatest carpenter songs, just wish the finale lasted a little longer
Payoff isn’t quite worth it when considering other of Brut’s songs are basically the same as the ending part of Obituary but it’s basically the entire song. Still though, the fact that there’s such a long build up does make the ending of Obituary that much more exciting and satisfying once you’ve reached it, but I wouldn’t exactly say it’s a good enough piece to warrant said long buildup.
Perturbator's "God Says" executes what this song tries to do way better.
@@yol_n I disagree.
Escape from Midwich Valley exists. It's got a very long build up and is 2 minutes longer with 4/5 of it being "boring", but has a lot more views. I think why Midwich Valley is doing better is because the climax is more exciting (and is the most godly drop I have ever heard) and has a different theme from the build up while Obituary's climax sounds just the same with the build up but with a lot more going on. So patience is probably not the problem. Unless if people were just going back to the song and skip to the good part. But if that were true then maybe Obituary's climax just isn't good enough for a lot of people.
You know, it's one of the most underrated Bruts track :(
Арви Таих
*Mandarin's Claws*
『Castafiore』Mandarin claws and the good old call are 2 of his most underrated songs.
Fucking underrated yeah for sure.
yes maybe im very late to this one, but so far its one of my favourite tracks of all time. very nice!
I agree.
i love how this song sounds like a soundtrack for a movie where the underdog hero is being hunted down by the police in some kind of huge city, ducking behind dumpsters and avoiding spotlights, and then at the end they finally get caught and there's a huge chase scene that they just narrowly get away from. absolute banger
Every time I listen to Obituary, I wonder why I rate this track so high out of EP II, and then the last minute just hits and the 3 and a half minutes of buildup just comes together and just *goes* for one glorious minute.
I just love the entire experience of this track, gets me every time.
Same for me, last minute rocks
3:28, that Synth lead is so good it sends chills down my spine
I need like 10min of that part of the song, tbh.
I'm fine with people sleeping on their side, or their back, or on their chest, but what I'm not fine with is people sleeping on fuckin Obituary.
Well said
I can't be the only one who has this as a favorite from the album.
Same. This one and Hang em all are amazing.
I can't decide. I both love Le Perv and this one
This and Paradise Warfare
Let's be real here guys. The whole album is good
@@rays5163 Well, that's a given
The last minute is absolutely incredible.
Listened to this song for the fist time, and 3:28 had me like: “Jesus, I haven’t felt this alive since I listened to turbo killer for the first time two years ago”.
Yes my bud, 2024 and I still here, enjoying this underrated song
This fellow here, certainly knows his chord and key changes.
I do say
This song is fantastic. So subtle, yet so energetic. Blows the mind. Builds up almost unnoticable until it explodes right into your synapses.
well said!
Carpenter Brut is the best. Back to back bangers every time.
Seriously, this is the best song that I ever heard in my 33 years! Carpenter brut, there is no better than you! Amazing!
I think you talked too much lol
There is one person better than carpenter brut. It is john carpenter huh
The worst part about this beautiful song, is that it well, ends but also how it ends. I wouldn't mind that awesome outro to go like, 2 minutes or more
I love the way this ends, just like life. All of a sudden, without any warning and BOOM, the song's over and so are you.
Yo chill with that man
i agree
You should hear this song as part of the whole album. It follows into the next track really well, and it flows even better onto ""Sexkiller on the Loose"!
The worst part is that it sounds like a 3 minute and 28 second intro and then ends 1 minute after...
I keep coming back to this track. It's got some kind of magic in it.
This is not my #1 favourite song on the album, but it IS the song that ties the album together, without which the album would SURELY not be the same
+mummyjohn "And dont call me Shirley!"
gulc That joke only really works if they put the word "surely" at the beginning of a sentence.
Are you some kind of musical superhero?
my words! All songs are on verge of perfection! how can he do it? :)
He sold his soul to Satan. That's why he gives credit to him in every video with upside down crosses and pentagrams.
This is one of his best tracks, if it's not the best. Amazing.
This is so good
YOOOOOOOOO, BASED ALPHA DESTINY. BASED.
soooo good, sorry haha
EP II has the best songs, this is fucking beast.
+Maknirak the 2nd movie is the best in a movie trilogy
+Phreaker1997 Except the Matrix. 1st was best. Yes I own all 3.
Yes, I own all 3.*
Me listens to one of the greatest artists of our time while doing anything: MAXIMUM EFFORT ENGAGED
In love with every single song.
Let's make Carpenter Brut famous.
Most underrated Carpenter Brut song for sure - first time listening through and I didn't think the beat was even going to drop, and then it did, and it was one of the best musical experiences of my life
This is easily his most underrated one, agreed, absolute bliss listening to it
This ... this is so good.
I bought the Trilogy some time ago and i frequently enjoy it in its entirety. And first it took me a while to get into Obituary, but soon i began to love it like any other song on the album :) But i just listened to it once more, very attentive, and i'm basically convinced now, that it is more porn than music. :D Certainly underrated!
edit Also this video will probably be flagged soon xD
Sounds like the sort of thing that would play in a graveyard shootout, a player waking up in mausoleum, or gettign out of one of those corpse freezers after being confirmed for dead or the like.
This is my Supersayan tune, my all or nothing piece of music holding the last line of defense no matter what shit lives throws at me. The slow build up into the incredible crescendo which hits you like a white driving glove in the face, oozing of disco, violence and sundrenched beaches.
Just ... thank you for making this tune, i have busted countless PR's in lifting, running etc. charging up with this, no matter how tired i am, when it hits, i want to jumpkick an elephant!
I quite like Invasion A.D. more as a build up song. It builds up in a similar manner to this song, disregarding the big break in Invasion A.D., and the ending is just way too badass.
+Hugo Swenson Dude hell yeah! ROCK THE WORLD
+StephenAndrew777 nogainz manlet
Y'know whats mentally retarded, not going supersayan to this tune, your move...
The hero has just reached the despair event horizon, but then he remembers the key words and advice from his loved ones and is forced to make a decision: fight, or die.
3:28
He must fight.
Burke Boydell beautiful.
A crime this sound EP set isn't a sound track to a film.
Next up we move to the Gear up montage of Hang 'Em All and then onto Turbo Killer.
"I wanna see you fight for your soul"
"I wanna see your God damn bones"
We’ve got you surrounded, come listen to our calming mass produced lo fi music!
I love melting my auditory cortex! I love dark synthwave!
Deadass listen to this while studying or doing homework, I actually study better with Brut music than that mass produced LoFi.
the best synthwave around
Ubderrated gem.
This reminds me of fallout in a way that, at the beginning, is a little slow paced and slightly depressing, but as you near the end it gets better and faster paced and when you complete it, it just straight up stops.
Underrated asf, the last minute is straight gas
The last minute of this song has to be some of the best music Brut has ever made
This guy is a genius 😢
The first part of it is way smooth, energetic! The ending is so sad, sudden, as exact as real life.
favorite song off my favorite album
I can imagine a fighting game intro with this music
The first part of the song is my favorite. It's the only reason I stood up and checked what was playing.
AGGRESSIVE STYLE LOVE IT BALLS DEEP
Very deep...
Damn this slaps. Like hard.
Gotta thank the doc for his awesome taste in music
This is quite reminiscent of the geoscape soundtrack for the DOS game UFO:Enemy Unknown. I love it.
This is the best albun by far 🌌
Carpenter Brut has a song called Obituary... does Obituary have a song called Carpenter Brut?
Tom waits has a song called the fall of Troy and the fall of Troy has a song called Tom waits
Один из лучших треков Брюта
Probably one of my favourite Brut tracks
Mesmerising! Perfect for a listen in the dead of night.
Added to MyNewWaveRetroSynthPopFavs playlist. I can think of no higher accolade.
I love this song so hard.
first track just amazing!
This song is so underrated. I was hoping the band would play it when they were visiting my country but NOPE. Welp, at least they played Maniac :D
Somehow didn't really listen to this one until now. Always nice running into a straggler.
My favorite, so powerful
that ending tho, it is quite yes
this... this is glorious.
Home Depot: more saving, more doing.
WHAT A BANGER
Fantastic.
How have I not heard of this sooner? Carpenter Brut's tracks remind me of Re-imagined Pet Shop Boys for a horror film score. Just an unreal demonstration of music production.
The most underrated banger
6 years. omg.
BRUTal in the best way possible.
This is the song that plays just before the AI robots wake up and come to kill us
The ending of this almost sounds like the beginning of Turbo Killer. I'm curious if Turbo Killer is the Sequel to this.
Sexkiller on the Loose is the sequel
What is that voice saying at the end? I've been looking for lyrics but it's only posted as instrumental?
Epic!
"Hitting your head with a Hammer" - the song
Its just too good
@@robertosanchez5129 Yep 1 year later it's still so good
VIOLENCE
SPEED
MOMENTUM
I CAN'T BE STOPPED
as i put forward before if you love one track of Carpenter Brut yu will love all of them. If you do one time you want to do it everytime
I saw this on Vimeo. the version with takashi ishiis montage. really liked it. subscribed
The intro reminds me a secret level of the old Heretic videogame. Honestly this is badass epic, imagine play it in a funeral wow! :O
i wish i could use those songs man they are so good fr
Dope some John Murphy influence there
This is my fav track of yours
omg what a music ,so cool really
Could have used this track as Background Score in Castle Rock or Dark. Too Good.
lady gaga borrowed our lyrics and is using them as a hat
+ZOH Dafuq
+ZOH *Dafoe
yes yes _but what _*_are_*_ they_
@@toasterqueer it's literal gibberish, it's supposed to sound like speech but it's not actually saying anything
God it's magnificent
misheard lyrics:
damn you're already so pitiful
all the world's been broken now
damn you're already so pitiful
all the world's been broken now
yet you're already so pitiful so no hell you've taken so long world's been broken down make the sequel (make the) x2
go make the sequel

(?) so pitiful so no hell you've taken so long the world's been broken now make the sequel
all makes little sense, but it's fine as long as it sounds cool
Belle découverte !
It look like some chill song.
Slice em up Doc!
The second song to truly give me goosebumps.
The first was Le Perv.
mine was Looking for tracy tzu
That was Escape from Midwich Valley for me
Mine was Sexkiller On The Loose, Turbo Killer and Roller Mobster
@@cooler_carpington that was more like a pleasant jumpscare for me haha
YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA... OOOHHHH BABY I FEEL SOOOO DAMNNN GOOD
Beautiful 🥰
The first part of this song is when your walking down an empty street at night and the last part is when someone starts following and chasing you
3:28 bring it on
I know there aren't actually lyrics in this song, but I swear I hear; "Baby you want some? Oh yeah you do." in a few places. Anyone else hearing anything?
A little bit yeah,
powerful
sounds like something you hear in a metroid game very nice
This slaps harder than my ex wife
This song is from the album trilogy and trilogy is the best album NICE
Reminds me of an 80's slasher film; the killer stalking a young female victim....watching silently in the dark through the bedroom window as she undresses, waiting to attack....and then........GO! The chase through the house begins..
Vimeo clip is sooo good with this song
İf you like just one song of carpen ter brut this means you will like all of them. Literally this is the case
Yeah. It has the slow and suspenseful buildup like Escape from Midwich Valley and Invasion AD, the adrenaline energy of Turbo Killer, and the vibe of Looking for Tracy Zu, Division Ruin and 347 Midnight Demons.
