I've always loved the melee portion of this fight. where this is the first fight with a character with REALLY fast attacks, the lower BPM that kicks in not only makes you feel like you're concentrating more, it emphasizes the speed of the burst, kind of like how the music in hotline Miami can make the game feel trance like with the high speed action being set up alongside the slow music.
Honestly I interpreted the close melee form's music BPM loss as her losing her mojo and the realization that Rider managed to dive straight through her tricks and attacks.
I think of it like time physically slowing down as they fight (i.e., the tempo would be normal for everyone else), to show how fast the two of them are. The fact that the soundtrack version has it at fully tempo (since you are just listening and not "participating") seems to agree.
part at 7:00 is simply orgasmic. Even more so the first time when after chasing all this time you finally get to engage in close combat and the music slows down heavily to match that. 10/10

Man I wish that phase 3 part was longer. It's so fucking intense and I was confused when the full track didn't have it. It's characteristic Carpenter Brut intensity.
God this song alone is a solid 11/10, the upbeat and fast first 3 phases to get you pumped up for the action, starts to become more tense by phase 4 and 5, to show you that the burst is gonna start to kick up the pace and that you should be ready to match her in intensity, the slow close melee combat to match the intesity and focus that you need to perfectly relatiate what she sends upon you, and the final desperation phase, that begins slow and starts to kick up in intensity as her moves also become harder to dodge, such a masterpiece of a boss, 12/10, would vibe to again.

ro32643 Well, the tracks being different was the reason I went through with this project. The soundtrack versions of the tracks are cut up and edited for easy listening, as some tracks would be easily 15 minutes or more. Now I like that sort of thing, but most people don’t. The game versions have every stage and section of the song in tact. Sometimes as well, certain instruments in some tracks may be added for the soundtrack.

The game version of this track sounds different than the one in the album. Different mix? Older version of the track?
ro32643 Well, the tracks being different was the reason I went through with this project. The soundtrack versions of the tracks are cut up and edited for easy listening, as some tracks would be easily 15 minutes or more. Now I like that sort of thing, but most people don’t. The game versions have every stage and section of the song in tact. Sometimes as well, certain instruments in some tracks may be added for the soundtrack.
