The fact that it manages to turn the track on its head and change to mood several times in the span of just three or four minutes, adding layer upon layer of depth to the sound. How to drive like an idiot while listening to funky-ass beats. Escape from Midwitch Valley - Best when driving out of town at twilight when the street lights are just coming on, especially good if the beat drops as you hit the highway, or when the speed limit finally relents. Disco Zombi Italia - Any winding road at any time of day, although I'm partial to street-lit overpasses and freeways. Feels great when passing by other vehicles and taking bends at speed. L.A. Venice Bitch 80's - Ideally used when driving through downtown, with plenty of colorful signs and a steady flow of traffic. Keep it cool. Wake up the President - Good for any nighttime setting and driving fast, very fast. Keep acceleration and deceleration in sync with the song -- speed up and slow down accordingly. 347 Midnight Demons - Never drove to it, but ample driving through the city at night feels like the best application. Le Perv - Amazing for driving fast, keeping in sync with the song speed. Best done on either a street-lit freeway or dark highway, and fucking flooring it on the last drop, you better fucking redline your car when you do it too; I know I did. And turn the volume up as you accelerate, this is mandatory. Roller Mobster - Keep it cool and slow at first, then fucking gun it when shit gets intense, and hover around that speed for pretty much the whole ride. Best for day driving on highways in my experience and passing other vehicles. Taking wide bends and turns really fast also works, and going down hill. Meet Matt Stryker - Never drove to it, but racing someone else through city streets feels aight. Obituary - Never drove to it, but feels like it's work best as chill cruising tunes. Nighttime of course, through street-lit streets or alone on the highway. Looking for Tracy Tzu - Hard to pin, haven't got the feel for this one yet. Instincts say nighttime industrial or downtown. I dunno. Sexkiller on the Loose - Driving very fast winding roads and merging at high speeds off exits and overpasses, either at night or day if there's a lot of traffic. Hang 'Em All - Daytime highways, freeways, and city streets, keeping speed in sync with the song is preferred. Division Ruine - Never drove to it, but nighttime industrial and downtown driving feels good. Plenty of streetlights, perhaps even a little friendly competition while you're at it. Paradise Warfare - Chill cruise at night along the street-lit freeway, ideally no traffic, and highly important to keep pace with the song. When shit get's fucked, you better hope there's some curves, exits, merges, bends, or something cuz you're gonna want to take those at pretty high speeds, and you better be increasing the volume as you speed up, otherwise you're hopeless. Then, coast to a chill once again at the end. Run, Sally, Run! - Never drove to it, but some nice speedy driving through town at night should do the trick, with plenty of bends and fast turns, or even exiting onto the freeway when shit gets real. Turbo Killer - You better be driving pretty fast when it starts, then coast it down a bit, then fucking gun it. Make sure to pass by many other vehicles while you're at it. Best on a highway or freeway, either day or night should be fine. Anarchy Road - Never drove to it, but feels ideal in any urban setting at night, as long as there's plenty of streetlights. Invasion A.D. - And again, never drove to it, but nighttime downtown or industrial, at a steady cruise. Although the second part is pretty hard to peg, sounds like you'll need, well, to escape from an invading force, either alien or man made, driving really fast as you do so. Or even better, driving into it!
Interesting review of the driveability of the songs. Would be interested to read a similar review of Perturbator - Uncanny Valley or Dangerous Days. ;)
this deserves to be top comment; it's really what these comment sections are made for. thoughtful, not withheld, relatable while also bringing something new & original/genuine. Thank you & you rock.
You ever have those moments of breathless glory where your heart feels like it's gonna burst and it's both incredible because you're feeling this and agonizing that you'll never be able to beam how incredible it feels into someone else's head? Yeah. That's Turbo Killer.
Each time I decide to wander in the vast musical universe of UA-cam, I let myself go of any thoughts and judgement, and allow myself to be led by pure instinct. Sometimes, it will be the name of the album. Others will be the musical theme. And, most of the times I think, it will be the artwork that will intrigue me to click and open in a new tab so that the video plays. Never been wrong up until now, I have discovered manhy different pieces of awesome music. And yours is one of them! Thank you for sharing with us, wish you all the best, keep up the great work! 😊
Was just riding my bike down a hill, listening to Meet Matt Stryker with a pounder of beer in each hand, holding the handlebars with my middle fingers, fixing the bent cigarette I was smoking with my tongue, while flying on mushrooms. Thank you, Carpenter Brut, for curating that experience.

You guys are so fucking amazing, putting the entire discography up on UA-cam. I'll be buying it as soon as I can, along with merch. Carpenter Brut is awesome.
So something I did by pure accident that I love about Carpenter Brut's songs here. When listening to Le Perv then Your Mine from the Furi soundtrack transitions FLAWLESSLY from the former to the latter.
5:20 came out of fucking nowhere and I love it to death. All of this is A1, he needs so much more recognition for his work. Truly a one of a kind masterpiece.
4:28 Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill. Isaac kept to himself drawing pictures and playing with his toys as his mom watched Christian broadcasts on the television. Life was simple and they were both happy. That was until the day Isaac's mom heard a voice from above: "Your son has become corrupted by sin. He needs to be saved." "I will do my best to save him, my Lord," Isaac's mother replied, rushing into Isaac's room, removing all that was evil from his life. Again the voice called to her: "Isaac's soul is still corrupt. He needs to be cut off from all that is evil in this world and confess his sins." "I will follow your instructions, Lord. I have faith in thee," Isaac's mother replied as she locked Isaac in his room away from the evils of the world. One last time Isaac's mom heard the voice of God calling to her: "You've done as I've asked, but I still question your devotion to me. To prove your faith, I will ask one more thing of you." "Yes, Lord. Anything," Isaac's mother begged. "To prove your love and devotion, I require a sacrifice. Your son, Isaac, will be this sacrifice. Go into his room and end his life as an offering to me, to prove you love me above all else." "Yes, Lord," she replied, grabbing a butchers knife from the kitchen. Isaac, watching through a crack in his door, trembled in fear. Scrambling around his room to find a hiding place, he noticed a trapdoor to the basement hidden under his rug. Without hesitation, he flung open the hatch just as his mother burst through his door and threw himself down into the unknown depths below...
Hearing the melody to "Escape from Midwich Valley" at the end of "Invasion A.D." was a nice touch. Excellent way to bookend the album, and the fact that the recall sounded "distant" really amplified the horror vibe A.D. was going for!
Before I knew who he was, people told me that my album sounded like Carpenter Brut was an inspiration. After hearing his music I realise how much of a compliment that is :)
I think he really hit his stride by EP III, so it's kinda cool how the music progressively improves and you get to see a bit of his evolution as an artist.
No matter where I am...work, home, out on a walk...I am always listening to Carpenter Brut now ever since I heard "Disco Zombi Italia" and "Wake Up The President" the first time when I was at work and UA-cam was playing random music.
the album sets a mood and tells a story, I honestly cant find another to compete. I've listened to this maybe over 100 times, send help. Never mind, don't.
Love Invasion A.D., it's my favorite Carpenter Brut song, and i'm pretty sad the comments are turned off on this song's youtube page. First half of the song is a simpler, slower keyboard old-school piece, very melodic. At the middle, the song turns into hell. Second part starts with some mysterious Jean Michel Jarre-like notes and progressively gets louder, breaking into a huge drop that continues accumulating sound, including human screams and sounds of futuristic weapons. It really feels like an alien race is invading our planet, pretty scary.
Just kinda tucked away in the middle chillin is a nifty piece of pure gold called "Looking For Tracy Tzu"...I suggest you crank it up just a wheeee bit more when this gem comes on. Incredible playlist~
I have listened to this trio a few dozen times in the past years... and I still can't get enough. The vibe of the full hour and a half is insane, trance-like. Mucho respect.
There's something about the vocal in Obituary that hits the spot every time I listen to it. It can be months between listens and BAM! it gets me again. It's just so good the way the mood in that track develops... I don't even think it's my favourite track but I just had to say something nice about it 😎😎

Would be interested to read a similar review of Perturbator - Uncanny Valley or Dangerous Days. ;)
Personally with Dangerous Day I would be dead against a wall by the 3rd song, jeebus
this deserves to be top comment; it's really what these comment sections are made for. thoughtful, not withheld, relatable while also bringing something new & original/genuine. Thank you & you rock.
This is the kind of comments that make it worth scrolling down to the comment section. Great insight for a great album! 👌
driving at night in Colombia is a suicide
You ever have those moments of breathless glory where your heart feels like it's gonna burst and it's both incredible because you're feeling this and agonizing that you'll never be able to beam how incredible it feels into someone else's head? Yeah. That's Turbo Killer.
Most tacky comment in the section. Love it, though.
This album has a drive and an energy and an originality to its riffs and tunes that many other acts lack. Kudos, Carpenter!
The artist name screams horror movie, the graphics scream witchhouse, but the sound is pure synthwave.
Fantastic!
not pure synthwave though. It's a mix of many subgenres, but mostly dark synth, very original one and very good one.
Honestly i like anarchy road, hearing it while riding the bus on the way home looking at abandoned buildings its amazing

After 5+ years, this is still the top for me. By far the best dark synth to be listening to..
Thanks for this!
this album is a synth paradise
I haven't heard of you until today.
This is one of the few times i bought an album the same day I heard of an artist.
The fact that you put it all on youtube so I could properly appreciate all of it definitely made that choice for me.
good shit, keep up the good work.
I am just listening to this whole album for the first time and I know you will envy me the feeling of listening to this album for the first time.
Yup. Jealous.
WOW ! The transitions are friggin amazing, i can listen to it as a full track !
Disco Zombi Italia!! I heard you once before you beautiful tune but never knew or could learn the name of you but at long last I've found you again! Probably my favorite synthwave beat.
it all feels like its just one song, a very long song, a movie of pure adventure suspense and thriller, its a masterpiece for sure.
You guys are so fucking amazing, putting the entire discography up on UA-cam. I'll be buying it as soon as I can, along with merch. Carpenter Brut is awesome.
***** I'm well aware. I'm referring to the band.
Who wants more Carpenter Brut madness? His style is so unique and HAAARD!!!!!!!
So something I did by pure accident that I love about Carpenter Brut's songs here. When listening to Le Perv then Your Mine from the Furi soundtrack transitions FLAWLESSLY from the former to the latter.
I like how roller mobster appears and leaves out of nowhere. Every other song blends together well, then BAM.
5:20 came out of fucking nowhere and I love it to death. All of this is A1, he needs so much more recognition for his work. Truly a one of a kind masterpiece.

Isaac and his mother lived alone in a small house on a hill. Isaac kept to himself drawing pictures and playing with his toys as his mom watched Christian broadcasts on the television. Life was simple and they were both happy. That was until the day Isaac's mom heard a voice from above:
"Your son has become corrupted by sin. He needs to be saved."
"I will do my best to save him, my Lord," Isaac's mother replied, rushing into Isaac's room, removing all that was evil from his life.
Again the voice called to her:
"Isaac's soul is still corrupt. He needs to be cut off from all that is evil in this world and confess his sins."
"I will follow your instructions, Lord. I have faith in thee," Isaac's mother replied as she locked Isaac in his room away from the evils of the world.
One last time Isaac's mom heard the voice of God calling to her:
"You've done as I've asked, but I still question your devotion to me. To prove your faith, I will ask one more thing of you."
"Yes, Lord. Anything," Isaac's mother begged.
"To prove your love and devotion, I require a sacrifice. Your son, Isaac, will be this sacrifice. Go into his room and end his life as an offering to me, to prove you love me above all else."
"Yes, Lord," she replied, grabbing a butchers knife from the kitchen.
Isaac, watching through a crack in his door, trembled in fear. Scrambling around his room to find a hiding place, he noticed a trapdoor to the basement hidden under his rug. Without hesitation, he flung open the hatch just as his mother burst through his door and threw himself down into the unknown depths below...
impressive
that music is actually from Hotline Miami
DNFMA1 non binary
tip: read so when you end reading it drops
*my innermost apocalypse starts playing in the part of the drop*
It's not often I give a video a like within the first minute, much less subscribe within the first 5. This is great!

Gotta get a grip!
I told you not to come back here!
This is the kind of album that actually leaves you breathless.
It's been 2 years since I put these songs on repeat, can't help myself getting out of this awesomeness 🔥
Hearing the melody to "Escape from Midwich Valley" at the end of "Invasion A.D." was a nice touch. Excellent way to bookend the album, and the fact that the recall sounded "distant" really amplified the horror vibe A.D. was going for!
This had to be the first album I listen to in 2017! Happy New one!
This music is so good I bought it.
Before I knew who he was, people told me that my album sounded like Carpenter Brut was an inspiration. After hearing his music I realise how much of a compliment that is :)
What's your album called?
Came back to listen to this epic album. As good as when I first heard it. These compositions definitely bring your soul to another place.
This album is a masterpiece. Keep going back to this one
When the beat drops on Escape from Midwich Valley it's one of the greatest things I've ever heard.... Ever.
DAMN I'm a metalhead but I found myself headbanging at 57:19 after that excellent build up that starts around 57:00. GOOD JOB!
Discovered Carpenter Brut - Turbo Killer 5 minutes ago. As a metalhead as well, I've been headbanging to that shit ever since.
Thats because this album is made by metalheads.
Not surprising, considering it has been said that Carpenter Brut (AKA Franck Hueso) used to produce/record for Deathspell Omega.
The beginning of Wake up the President gave me ASMR tingles :D
the album sets a mood and tells a story, I honestly cant find another to compete. I've listened to this maybe over 100 times, send help. Never mind, don't.
6 songs per album. 3 albums.

Totally, I love this song too, a masterpiece :O
I drink coffee at work, but really it's music like this that keeps me going.
Just kinda tucked away in the middle chillin is a nifty piece of pure gold called "Looking For Tracy Tzu"...I suggest you crank it up just a wheeee bit more when this gem comes on. Incredible playlist~
Cryptid hunting? Cybershycho neutering? Gym? This is the playlist for you!
A work of fucking genius.
I have listened to this trio a few dozen times in the past years... and I still can't get enough. The vibe of the full hour and a half is insane, trance-like. Mucho respect.
I just decided to re-listen to this album and I fell in love with Obituary. It's so dreamy. So beautiful.
45:31 sounds like the riff to "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top.
Hmm yeah kinda, I've been listening to ZZ Top a lot lately but didn't notice that. lol
Absolutely! Now I can't stop picturing the ZZ Top video when I listen to this
ohhhh i'm shocked...
my life was objectively better after finding this
2019... This just popped up on my recommended list... where have you been all my life 😂
Midnight Demons absolutely melts my face. What a banger.
Keep coming back for a listen every few months - still as 'new' as ever. Midnight Demons gets me every time.
I remember when Roller Mobster started playing in Hotline Miami 2 in an intense level, quickly became one of the most badass moment in gaming for me.
The level is also absolute pain to boot, it’s so tedious
This is my favorite electronic music ever.
I am getting ads in french because I have this music on repeat. Amazing music
Got baked and listened to the whole thing in one shot. It was nothing short of blissful. Possibly one of the greatest musical works of the modern age
I love the heavy synth and driving beats. This album never gets old!
This shit is all over the place, but in a good way. Some dungeon synth, some disco, some heavy metal. I love it.
There's something about the vocal in Obituary that hits the spot every time I listen to it. It can be months between listens and BAM! it gets me again. It's just so good the way the mood in that track develops... I don't even think it's my favourite track but I just had to say something nice about it 😎😎
The spiritual successor of Tangerine Dream has been born. All hail.
Tangerine Dream - Jean-Michel Jarre - Carpenter Brut : Holy Trinity of Synthesizer
I discovered you two weeks ago, and now I can't listen any group but yours ! Thanks for this incredible album you are now one of y favorite band and you inspire me very very very well !! This is not just music, it's a entire dimension where I'm now stuck in, and I F*CKING LOVE IT !!!
Paradise Warfare might be the best synthwave song of all time.
