      So guilty of this. My first job was owned by a couple who had a lot of tattoo in their arms, back and legs. I'll admit that I feel scared and judged them first to the point I want to run away and find other job but i stayed because i need it and I'm happy that I did because they are so kind to me.

      Yes, we shouldn't judge people by their skin color, facial features, hair style, disabilities, clothes, etc. But I have no trouble judging people by the racist tattoos they've adorned their bodies with. These are choices that people make to express who they really are inside.

    This reminds me of someone I remotely know. He grew up in foster care and decided to see his birth mother just like this kid in the movie. He didn't have the guts to knock on her door so he waited outside to catch a glimpse of her for hours like waiting for the love of his whole entire life. Then she came out with her kids from a new husband, smiling all over and chatting with joy. He made it to make an eye contact, and she paused for a split second, but she walked away with her new family. That's whe he realized he had been totally written off from her life and would never see her again. Just heartbreaking.

      I know it's but what most people would do, but I think they owe it to her to admit it in front of her family so they all know and understand the woman they have come to love.
      Just like a relationship, if they've done it once they can do it again. Those are your half brothers and sisters. Give them a heads up... But I know I'm talking like it's easy. This hurts my heart, feel like she should feel the shame.

      Perhaps they were even already married and he was abroad or something (say army). Or she had him as a child herself and did not want to drag up the past. Millions of reasons. Life is hard and these who judge other tend to be just as much in the wrong, but maybe in other aspects of life. So its harder to see.

      I left in tears. An uber driver that picked me up tried comforting me. And then took me to his friends restaurant. they let me stay there even though they were closing and gave me a free meal and charged my phone .

    • @StevieM2
      @StevieM2 4 роки тому

      @@SuicideRedemption I am so saddened to hear that. For whatever it is worth, most birth mothers didn't want to give up their children. They were forced by dire circumstances at the time to accept a permanent separation due to temporary challenges. Sometimes the loss is so painful for the mother that she feels forced to shut down that chapter because it continues to consume her for years and years.
      I am sure that your first mother had a lot of love for you. Most birth parents welcome a reunion, even dream of it. I hope that at some point down the line your b-mom will heal somewhat and the two of you can reconnect.

      Nobody deserves humiliation of growing up with parents who don't wont them. It is better to be raised without real parents as long as you are raised healthy and safely, rather then being stuck with parents who treat you like mistake and take out their insecurities on you.
      Stop glorifying "having parents" experience, it all depends on situation and parents who know they cant do it are way better then those who cant admit their incompetence and give their children hell.
      So yea, my point is, things like that are not absolutes.

    I grew up wondering if I would ever know my own mother. And I did, and still do. She has been my mother since I was a newborn. My biological mother loved me enough to see to it that I was adopted by a family that could provide me with the things I needed, and my adoptive mother loved me enough to take me in and give me a chance at life. I was always afraid that me discovering my mother would very much be just like this. Heartbreaking.

    This story reminded me of my step mom’s son who tried to find her when he was teenager or something after she divorced when he was only elementary school. According to her story, her ex husband and ex husband’s mother took her son away from her and she had no choice to left him forcedly by them. Before she passed away of cancer, we thought that we should tell her son before it’s too late but her niece told us that her son passed away already before she did. They could meet finally in heaven. We were lucky to be raised by her. Her son couldn’t be with her, even if he wanted to be with her. I know this is a movie but maybe his mother didn’t want to leave him but had no choice like my step mom.

      **I have come back to this little film that I first watched roughly a year ago, I had forgotten how gut-wrenching it was and how intensely human and authentic it's characters felt to me: The boy seemed so untethered from the world, so friendless and vulnerable and the driver seemed almost resigned to the world, rough and formidable in appearance but simple and honest. The part, of course, that hit like a brick in the face was the question regarding tea that came from inside the house and the steady and determined closing of the door that brought the scene to it's conclusion and led directly into an aerial view of the kid plodding down the road, far enough away to make the boy appear isolated and relentlessly alone, again and perhaps feeling even more diminished by his experience. I'm grateful that the writer allowed us to hover nearby, watching as the drama played itself out and hope materialized out of despair, as it often does, a truth that had clearly served the dark-man well in his life and the gift he left with the kid...beautiful. See you in a year if we're still here.
