- I stopped at a Brand New local diesel fuel station and before filling up, I noticed the fuel was not meant for 2007 or newer diesels. It was a 500 PPM Fuel when my truck requires a 15ppm fuel. HUGE DIFFERENCE !!! In this video I give 3 solid tips on things to know about Diesel Fuel for your modern Duramax Diesel Engine. 3.0 / 6.6 L5P LZ0 LM2 LML

As a fuel delivery person. You are getting the same ULSD that everyone else is getting. We all pull from the same depots. There's not a different tank for each flavor of Diesel or gas. Only difference there ever is, is the additives. Thats mixed in while the fuel is getting pumped to the delivery truck.
Even the furnace oil is ULSD hear in Canada. I would stay far from Costco fuel. There is an "antifungal" addiditive added to all of their fuel(purple fill lid at costco)
Low and regular sulfer diesel is no longer made, even for the the railroad. Its all ULSD. Even bunker C is hard to get here in the US for use offshore by ships.
I bet you it’s an old label that they haven’t updated.
Brand new station, just built. Likely a mistake, but you never know.
@@DuramaxNews not been legal to sell non ULSD diesel for road use for over a decade
Get a diesel truck from before 2007
Less problems and will last a lot longer
From what I could find all diesel should be ultra-low sulfur diesel. Maybe the stickers were never changed
Agreed, however this was a brand new fuel station with all of the pumps having this decal on them.
Been watching your content for a while and enjoy it… but I think this video is ill informed and needs to be removed. It’s just plain wrong.
Thanks for the feedback.
Just trade it in for an old 7.3 power stroke. It will run on anything you feed it, diesel, motor oil, trans fluid, McDonald’s grease, off road diesel, starter fluid. 😂 I drive both a new 6.7 power stroke diesel and my old 7.3, I love both, but I do grow tiered of how much sissy tomfoolery we have to do on these new diesels.
If you keep on feeding your 7.3 B20 you're going to destroy the lines B20 eats fuel lines on older trucks
Extremely rare to find "Top Tier" diesel here. It's why I run an additive like HS EDT. Hopefully I never get grief from the dealer for not running the AC Delco stuff but they dont stock it and it's expensive online.
HS EDT is a good one. I prefer archoil as I found it actually fixed my regen frequency at one point.
Technology! Better to spend 100k refurbing an old one than to play with Egr Scr def n dpf’s.
Current diesel is all ULSD. Ag diesel is also ULSD but has red color to distinguish it as not taxed. LS Diesel has been discontinued.
Most likely all fuel is ultra low sulfur. Yet with the expense of repairs it is good to be careful. I fuel where the semis and school busses fuel up. The fuel is bound to be fresher
I think I accidentally got Biodiesel in North Dakota. My mileage went down by a couple of MPG until I refilled with good diesel.
There’s one other diesel if you’re on the west coast and that’s 100% renewable or 100% Bio Mass diesel. From what I’ve read it is the best product you can put in today’s diesel trucks. It burns hotter & cleaner than petroleum based diesel and the truck sees it as a chemical match to B2.
I wasn't able to get to a station with that fuel but I have run it in California each time I traveled there. I actually like that fuel. Thanks for sharing that info as I left it out !
I’ve been using the “renewable diesel” found at a Costco in the Portland Oregon area, still labeled Top Tier. My miles between regens has noticeably increased.
In the past Bio-diesel in excess of 15% was highly sensitive to cold temps and would gel in fuel filters quickly. A 100% Bio-Diesel scares the hell out of me unless it has an anti-gel component added to it.
It's called R99
Costco Diesel ? Definitely rare!
Someone told me they got diesel at a Costco but yet to have seen one.
It's very tough to find. I have 5 Costco's near me and only 2 have diesel.
That’s why I like old trucks without the government epa bs. I have a 84 Chevy with 6.2 Detroit diesel. Far more reliable than this modern crap.
I run diesel efficient and I get an extra mpg compared to fuel anywhere else. Never ran top tier
Go fuel up where the big trucks fuel up.. best desil around
Low Sulphur Diesel is now considered FARM DIESEL or fuel primarily for off road, agricultural or industrial use. Besides determining if it is LSD you need to be sure it is not red dyed or untaxed fuel. Using untaxed fuel on public streets and highways is illegal and will get you in no end of problems if you're caught doing it.
Low Sulphur Diesel is no longer made. In the USA anyway. Farm Diesel is ULSD with coloring added to identify it as not taxed.
pumps likely not up to date on stickers-- only one diesel at gas stations
How do you know what you are getting? Are you going bet on a 50 cent sticker on the pump? How far do you go send out samples to a lab before you put it in your tank? Like most just going to hope for the best and fill the tank.
exactly !
Costco in Canada has the lowest quality fuel. It fucks your vehicles. Your snowmobile will throw a det code with there 91 octane
I'm going to say that you are wrong. Only one type of diesel fuel ulsd clear & red.
Ok 👍
Bahahahahahahahha unless it’s “off-road” it’s ultra low sulphur diesel in North America.
